When you first came to Smash, you were convinced you'd never make any friends. First off, your game wasn't too well known, so you didn't think anyone would recognize you.
Second, English was not your first language. Your game was only released in Japan, so learning English wasn't really important until now.

Lucky for you, everyone here seemed really friendly and were pretty good sports about being patient with you when it came to your speech.
In fact, you had already made a really good friend.
"Hey (Y/n). Whatcha thinkin about?"
A familiar voice shook you from your thoughts.

You looked up at Pit. The two of you were sitting outside under your favorite cherry blossom tree. It reminded you of home.
You smiled, resting your chin on your hands.
"Nothing."

"Oh." Pit blinked. "Cool."
"Hey (Y/n), how do you say 'hello' in Japanese?" he asked, his eyes shimmering.

You sighed. He had asked you a lot of questions like this.
(Most of them were more er...exotic though. For instance, how to say: "Baby shark dododododododo-" or "Rawr! I'm a T-Rex!")

But you didn't mind. It was cute the way his eyes would light up when you told him how to say random things, and how he would fail miserably with the pronunciation. It was sooo cute. Plus, he would help you with English words in exchange for you teaching him Japanese ones.
You looked the angel up and down, before staring straight into his crystal-blue eyes.
You couldn't help but find his kind and innocent demeanor quite adorable, and he was such a goofball! Sure, you'd only known him for a couple weeks, but that didn't change the fact that you'd started developing feelings for him.

"Earth to (Y/n)! Hey!" Pit laughed, waving his hand in front of your face.

You shook your head frantically as a pink hue dusted your cheeks.
"Oh! Right. Kon'nichiwa. Hello."
you smiled at him.

"Co-knee-chee-wah." he repeated after you slowly.
"Ahhhh." he wiggled his eyebrows at you. "Cool."

"This is called a 'fan' here, right?" you asked, pulling a hand-fan from your bag. You always carried it with you, and it doubled as your weapon.
"Yep. That's a fan." Pit grinned at you.

"Ah." you smiled down at it.
"That's what we call it too."

"Wow." Pit laughed.
"Okay. I'm gonna try to say something to you in Japanese okay?"

"Hmm. Okay." you smiled.

"Kon'nichiwa (Y/n)! Watashi wa t-rexdesu." he announced, struggling to pronounce each word.
"Okay. Now tell me what I said!"
he grinned at you expectantly.

"You said 'Hello (Y/n), I'm a
T-Rex.' " you laughed.
"Whoa! I'm getting so good at Japanese." Pit laughed.

"Heyo. What up dorks?"

You both turned to see Pit's dark-haired counterpart walking towards you.
"Oh. Hey Pitoo. I was just talking to
(Y/n)." Pit said, clearly wondering why his evil twin was present.

"Oh. Well that's convenient, because I was just coming over here to tease you about (Y/n)." Dark Pit smirked.

"What?" Pit stated, looking genuinely confused.
"Uh-huh. Okay. Play dumb." Dark Pit raised an eyebrow.
"Pitty and (Y/n) sitting in a tree,
F-U-C-"

"That's enough of that!" Pit leapt to his feet and covered Dark's mouth quickly.

"He's clearly crazy." Pit stated, blushing and rolling his eyes.
"I mean like, Pffff. Okay. Yeah. Sure." He said, nervously trying to laugh it off.
Dark Pit loved to tease Pit every time he saw the two of you together, but you could never figure out why.

What was that strange song Dark Pit was singing? You were completely unfamiliar with it. And what word was Dark trying to spell?
What word started with F-u-c?
You thought long and hard, but couldn't think of any word that made sense. Pit seemed very uncomfortable, and you took that as your cue to leave.

"Well. It has been good talking to you Pit. If you'll excuse me." you sighed, standing up and brushing yourself off.
"I should go." you smiled sweetly at the two boys and spun on your heel, walking to your room.
The more you replayed the conversation with Pit in your head, the more you wanted to figure out what word Dark Pit was trying to spell.
"F-u-c.....f-u-c..." you muttered under your breath, racking your brain for any words you could think of that started with f-u-c.

"Oh!" you gasped. "I know! I'll ask someone else." you smiled to yourself.
Wandering through the halls, you started looking for someone to ask.
You saw Zelda walk out from her room and ran over to her.

"Hey Zelda! I have a question." you smiled.
"Hmm? Okay. What is it?" she responded absentmindedly.

"Do you know a word that starts with the letters f-u-c?" you asked, folding your hands neatly in front of you.

"Uhhh..." Zelda gulped.
"Nope! I've never heard of a word like that." she said, her face flushing.
"See you around (Y/n)."
She waved over her shoulder, quickly walking away.

"Oh bother." you puffed out your cheeks.
"Thanks anyways...."
You glanced around again.
"Oh hey! Marth!"

You ran over to him and tapped him on the shoulder.
"What can I help you with Milady?"
he asked.

"Might you know of a word that starts with the letters  f-u-c?" you asked.

Marth's smile was quickly replaced with a grimace.
"Er..." he pulled at the collar of his shirt. "I, ah, can't say that I have. Sorry." he flashed you a forced smile and turned to leave.

"Pffff." you sighed, crossing your arms across your chest. "Darn it."

"Heya (Y/n). Are you okay? You look kind of down..."

You spun around to see Toon Link staring at you skeptically.
"I'm okay..." you shrugged.
"Do you know a word that starts with
f-u-c?" you asked desperately.

"Ohhhh yes." Toon Link smirked.
"Yes I do."

"Wait-really?!? This is great!" you squealed.

"That's not what Master hand thought." Toon Link laughed.

"Please tell me what this word is!" you begged.

"Okay." Toon Link shrugged.
"But you asked for this."

~20 minutes later~

"And that, is what f**k means." Toon Link finished explaining.

"O-oh." you covered your mouth with your hands. "Oh my. Well-er...thank you." you blushed, folding your hands together and dipping down in a bow.
"I had no idea..."

"No problemo!" Toon Link grinned, giving you two thumbs up.
He stood in the hallway for a moment staring at you, before shrugging and turning to open the door to his room.
"I'm surprised I actually did something in this story. I'm kinda just supposed to be a useless background character who's only purpose is to fill space."
he said "This has been a rather strange experience for me."

You tilted your head at him in utter confusion. What in the world was he talking about?

"Oh right." he smacked his forehead.
"The author told me I wasn't supposed to tell you. The 4th wall is fragile ya know." he grinned, elbowing you as you slowly backed away from the him.

"Of course I was chosen to fill space, not Kirby or Shulk or some other smasher. It's probably because I'm so stinkin' cute. But it's not like I can help it! I was designed like this! I'm pretty funny too. Though maybe Shulk just shouting, 'BACKSLASH!' over and over again would've been better than me just talking... What do you think?
Aha! That's another thing I am!
I'm friggin distracting! I mean, just look at me!

Toonie ranted, not stopping to take a single breath.

"Uhhhh." you gulped. "Sure okay."

"Sayonara." you waved, slipping into your room and slamming the door shut.

"Wait! I don't think I filled in enough space yet!" Toon Link yelled from outside your door.

"Just ignore him, just ignore him." you told yourself.
"He's crazy."

"Wait... never mind!" he shouted.
"Author-chan just texted me.
She said I can go. Now, all that has to happen is that Pit has to do some cute stuff with you- preferably something romantic- and then we can publish it!" Toon Link grinned enthusiastically.
"I know you're probably unfamiliar with this, since you come from Japan and all, but when you like someone here, you have to tell them right away." Toon Link stated matter-of-factually.

"Really?" you asked, cracking the door open to peek out at him.

"Yep. I'm 100% sure. That's just how we do it here." Toon Link nodded, grinning mischievously.
"I'm gonna go get Pit for you. Wait here." he said, pushing your door closed.

You listened to his footsteps as he trotted away from your door, his voice growing fainter with every step.
You let out a breath you didn't realize you had been holding.
You had to tell Pit how you really felt? Right now?
You walked slowly over to your bed and sat down, taking a deep breath in an attempt to clear your head and calm your nerves.

A loud knock sounded at your door, causing you to jump.
You slowly got up and swung the door open cautiously.

"Hey (Y/n)!" Pit greeted you, scratching the back of his neck sheepishly.

"Hello Pit." you smiled back nervously.
"What is it?"

"I- uhhhhh... actually was just wondering if you, uh, maybe... had any ketchup? I'm not even going to tell you what happened to the bottle in my room..." he laughed awkwardly, mentally punching himself for the lame excuse to see you.

"Oh. Umm sure. Come on in."
I have to tell him how I feel...
He roamed over to your fridge and started digging through it.

"So ummm... hey Pit?" you sat down at your kitchen table and tilted your head at him.
"What is it (Y/n)?" Pit blinked, absentmindedly sitting next to you.

"I like you." you blurted out, squeezing your eyes shut and awaiting his response.
"I like you too." he shrugged, fiddling with the cap to the ketchup.
"No Pit. I like you. I'm using the form of the verb that means love." you bit your lip.

"W-whoa! Really?!?" Pit asked, his eyes lighting up.
"Cuz I like you to! Like, like-like you! This is so great!" he grinned, excitedly pumping his fist in

"Anata wa kawai." you giggled.

"I don't understand..." Pit laughed, scratching the back of his neck.
"You don't have to." you smiled, wrapping your arms around his neck in a hug.
"Suru hitsuyō wa arimasen..."
