Dinah's POV

After my VERY satisfying shower with Jasmine. We got dressed because we both had to leave. I had to meet Normani soon, and she told me she had to leave to help finish packing up her house for her move. After we got dressed I walked her to the door to kiss her goodbye, but she stopped me.

"You better text me Dinah Jane."

"I will."

"I mean it Dj. I'm not like your other little side pieces you always got hanging all over you."

"I know that Jas I'm not treating you like you are. I wouldn't do that to you.'

"You better not, I don't want this to be a one time thing between us D. I really want to be with you, I always have." She says shyly.

"But what about Ronnie, i thought you wanted him at first?" I asked her confused.

"No I only wanted him because he was close to you. Look I'll explain later I gotta go but you better text me later. Bye Mrs. Hansen" she says to my mom who is in the kitchen with my brother.

"I promise boo now go before you make your mom mad for being late."

She leans in and kisses me goodbye, then walks away from me. I couldn't help but watch her as she walked to her car. We both had crushes on each other throughout the past year. I always thought she was into my friend Ronnie because she would always flirt whenever he was around but after what she just told me I don't know what to think anymore. I shake off the confusing thoughts and head to the kitchen to have breakfast with my mom and baby brother Seth."So is your girl of the week finally gone?" My mom asks while handing me a plate of eggs, bacon, and toast.

"She's not my girl of the week, Mom she might become my girlfriend."

"What? You're gonna have a girlfriend? When was the last time you had one of those?" My mom asks sarcastically.

"Since normani and I dated back in freshman year."

"Exactly and how long ago was that?"

"Almost two years" I reply under my breath.

"What? I cant hear you speak up."

"I said almost two years now."

"You haven't had a girlfriend in two years DJ. I may believe that you are way past due to have a girlfriend but do you really want a relationship with Jasmine Villegas?"

"What's wrong with wanting a relationship with Jasmine?''

"Nothing if that's what you really want from her."

"What does that even mean?"

"What that means is are you sure you aren't just looking for a hook-up buddy instead? I know you dinah that girl will not be good for you."

"How do you know?"

"Well for one she's two years older than you. Second, shes always giving you and Normani a hard time in practice."

"That's according to Normani."

"That doesn't matter. Thirdly, all you did for the last year was complain about how Jasmine was being a bitch towards you!"

"Okay out of context that may have seemed bad but I had my reasons."

"Oh really? What were they?"

"She kept flirting with people right in front of me and she knew about my feelings for her!"

"Dinah you aren't making look any better to me. Look if you really want to date her I won't stop you but I really think you should ease into it."

I think about what my mother is telling me as I finish up my breakfast, and play with Seth for a little bit. I know my mom is just trying to look out for me and all, but I'm not just gonna say no to jasmine just because of some of the things she did in the past. I've always wanted to date jasmine but when normani and i became captains of the dance team we made it a rule to not date other members of the team since all the current members are attracted to girls in some way. normani was confident that that would work. i just smiled and nodded like a good best friend and went along with it until it backfired on her. One of our former members Natalie got into a fist fight over one of our graduating members Tinashe at a performance because she was flirting with somebody right in front of her. it all turned out to be a misunderstanding, but after that normani took back the rule and said "just don't bring your drama to practice. I don't care what you do in your bed is on you".

"So, why does Normani have you up so early on a Saturday? Well early for your standards anyway."

"Well Normani called me and asked me to come over and how did you know that Normani wanted me up?"

"Oh you didnt know? Normani always texts me on the weekends she needs your help. See?" She pulls out her phone to show me the text my best friend sent her at 12:15 p.m. saying to make sure that I'm out of the shower fed and over at her house by one.

"No I did not know that my mom and best friend text each other about how lazy I am."

"No, not about how lazy you lazy you are. Just about how hard it is to wake you up without an air-horn."

"Keep talking and that's gonna be your birthday gift."

"You're the one with the birthday coming up sister. YOU keep talking and see what happens."

"Okay. I'm sorry. I love you!!"

"Uh huh sure. Now answer my question why does Normani want you over so early?"

"She didn't say, she got distracted by the sound of the shower even thought I wasn't in it, and the fact that I don't shower in the morning unless I was with someone the night before."

"Why don't you shower in the morning anymore? You used to do it all the time."

"Because with all the chaos in this house in the morning, it would be a bloodbath to even brush my teeth."

"That is a good point unless you want to wake up as early as your father and I do for work."

"Exactly and since I didn't want to wake up earlier than I already do normally I thought about it. 'The bathroom is empty at night!' So I switched and my life is so much better for it. I don't have to wake up at 6 a.m. every weekday to be first in the bathroom to shower anymore. Because all I do in the mornings now is my face wash routine I brush my teeth and I do my hair. I save so much time and get an extra 40 minutes of sleep!"

"Well I wish we all could afford that luxury. Now you better get out of here before Normani starts calling again."I check the clock on the wall and if Mani didn't live so close to me I would seriously be late.

"Ooh you're right I should get over there."

I get up to put my glass of juice and plate in the sink and run upstairs to grab my bag, phone, charger, a snapback, put on my Jordans, then run back downstairs. I race back into the kitchen to give my mom and Seth a kiss goodbye and run out the door.

"Thanks for breakfast, Mom. Bye, love you!"

"You have your keys, right?!"

I stop right in front of the door when I hear my mom ask about my keys and I reach to check my bag. They aren't there so I run back upstairs to grab them.

"NOW I DO! THANKS, BYE!"

"Bye, crazy girl."

AN: hello again people this is chapter two. I got a note to make the chapters longer so I hoped this works for you. This chapter you met Milika and got a bit more background on Dinah. Next chapter is gonna start and Normani's house. Zendaya won't come up soon but she will soon follow me on twitter at nayacutyonails to ask questions about the story. Also if you're wondering yes that was Natalie La Rose and Tinashe its not relevant to the story that much I just needed names for the scenario.
