Chapter Seven- The Engagement Rings
"So, what tuxedo do you think I would look good in?" asked Gourry, holding a black tux in one hand while his other hand was a blue one. "I've already tried them on both. Zangulus? Zelgadis? And Xellos?" he said with a happy winked eye expression.
Realizing that he saw Xellos, his mind slowly began to process it. "Wait!" his eyes opened up quickly. "Xellos!?" he spotted Xellos in the store with Zangulus and Zelgadis.
"Wait, Xellos is here?" asked Zel, looking next to him. "Hmmm. So, it is true?"
"How did you get in here?" asked Gourry. "I didn't even see you come in. Or hear you appear?"
"It doesn't matter how I got here so fast. But, the girls sent me here for a message for you guys and Gourry. That they wanted me to tell all of you, because they didn't know where to find you all."
"A message from the girls? It must be from Lina, as well?" said Zel.
"What's the message?" asked Gourry. "Is it something important?"
"Yes, it is." said Xellos. "It's about how Gourry needs to get a ring for Lina for the wedding. While she goes to get a ring for him..since apparently the both of you didn't have rings when your proposal happened."
"Ah, right. The rings!" said Gourry, realizing. "Thanks, Xellos. I knew that I was missing something at the back of my head. I'll be sure to pick out a beautiful ring for Lina."
"Good. My work here is done." grinned Xellos.
"Wait, you're leaving?" asked Gourry. "But, you just got here? Why don't you stay and hang out with us?"
"Fine, if you insist. On second thought, I will take you on that offer." smiled Xellos. "I was gonna make sure that things go well here too."
"So, your name is Xellos?" asked Zangulus. "I've heard a bit about you from Martina. She told me that she used to like you, before she got married to me. Before, she met me."
"Yes, I'm Xellos. Wait, Martina?" asked Xellos, pointing a finger to his open mouth in question. "OHHH! You must be Zangulus!? You are Martina's husband? I've heard about you from her. I was just with her and the girls earlier, talking to them. That was before I got here."
"How are they holding up? The girls?" Zel asked Xellos. "With the dress shopping and stuff?"
"They're doing just fine." said Xellos. "Everything with them is just going peachy. Like, I saw Lina in her wedding dress that she was trying on. She looked like a completely different person to me. I didn't recognize her. She looked absolutely stunning."
"Wait, you saw Lina in her wedding dress?" asked Gourry. "That's no fair! I'm marrying her. She's going to be my wife! I should be the one to see her first!"
"Relax, Gourry." said Zel. "You'll get to see Lina at the wedding. You just have to wait and have patience because it's supposedly 'bad luck' for the groom to see his bride in her wedding dress before the day of the wedding."
"Wow, you're right about that." said Gourry in response to Zelgadis's words.
"I think we should get back in topic to what Gourry was asking us earlier." said Zangulus. "About which color of tuxedo looks better on him?"
"Ohh." said Gourry, looking at each tuxedo that he was holding in each hand by the hanger. "Right. I forgot about that. Well, here I have a black one and a blue one."
"Hmm?" Zelgadis examined the two tuxedos that Gourry was holding. "Well, having a black tuxedo is pretty common for a groom to wear at a wedding. As the bride normally wears a white dress."
"Yeah, but what if Lina isn't wearing a white dress? You know how she likes things, that aren't being used by everyone. She doesn't like the definition of normal. She likes to stand out on her end." Gourry said. "I know her."
"Gourry you are right about that one. I'll give you a small hint about Lina's dress." Xellos walked near Gourry. "I know that she most definitely isn't wearing a white one. I would know, since I saw her wearing it. Because she was still trying it on."
"Cool! I was right!" cheered Gourry. "I don't want to go with the black tux. I don't think it would match with whatever color Lina is wearing for her dress."
"So, you're going with the blue tux, then?" asked Zangulus to Gourry.
"Yes, I am." Gourry nodded his head in approval.
"I think that's an excellent choice. I may say that blue really suites your eyes." said Xellos. "So, I'm sure Lina would like it."
"Yeah, she probably would." said Gourry.

"Now, to get a ring for Gourry." said Lina, looking around in a jewelry shop through the glass display cases.
