Chapter 45
Chapter 45
●●●
A couple of nights later Jimin and Yoongi were lying in bed, cuddled up to each other and watching some documentary on the ocean and its depths. Not that Jimin saw anything he hadn't seen up close before. He'd had enough years to search the whole ocean. He knew a lot more about it than a human could think of in their whole lifetime.
"What sea animals do you like?" Jimin asked, watching a woman that was patting a dolphin going on about how it was her life purpose to swim with these creatures. He really didn't feel like he was missing out on something.
"Sea animals... I don't really know if I'm being honest. I never really went to any aquariums because they make me uncomfortable and other than that I kind of avoid the topic of open waters." Yoongi admitted.
Jimin was glad he seemed to be back to normal for the most part. He still appeared to be a bit out of it at times, but the nightmares had gotten less the last few days and his normal mental state seemed rather stable again. Jimin still felt bad for what he had done. He really didn't want to hurt Yoongi.
Yoongi seemed to be able to work through it rather well... he was glad that this was the case.
There was a long silence with both of them staring at the screen, before Yoongi spoke again. "You know... when you 'sang' I had to think of my mother again. That happened so long ago and I still remember it like it happened yesterday." He admitted. That was the first time he was talking about what he'd seen when everything happened.
Jimin sat up properly, now entirely focusing on what Yoongi was saying.
"She... I don't know. I can't even remember her face, but I still feel the confusion and pain I felt back then, when I think about it. Because what kind of mother would push her child into a river and hope it drowns." Yoongi shook his head, before taking a deep breath. "I was lucky. I was under water for more than three minutes. Breathed in a lot. I was unconscious, but someone saw what had happened and managed to catch up with me and pull me out.
My mum got arrested, no idea where she is now. Didn't see her again after that. They just put me into some orphanage." Yoongi shrugged his shoulders, but Jimin could tell that he wasn't as nonchalant about all of this as he was acting.
"Would you want to see her again?" Jimin asked, wrapping his fingers around Yoongi's. The boy let out a bitter laugh.
"No way in hell. I don't care whether she lives or is rotting in hell. I want nothing to do with her."
Jimin swallowed dryly. "You said you remembered that when I was singing... in what sense?"
"I..." Yoongi hesitated, running his hand through his hair, finally setting the laptop aside and pausing the documentary. "I just felt really... useless. Like I'm a lost cause anyways. And somehow it connected to my mother not wanting me. Why would anyone want me if not even my own mother could bear to look at me?"
Jimin frowned. "I want you. And it's not your fault your mother was a bitch. I mean, who would try to get rid of you... I don't get it."
Yoongi smiled weakly. "Thanks... that's just what I felt like that moment. I know that you care about me... and I really do too."
"You're amazing. Don't you dare ever think otherwise. You write amazing music, are such a good natured person and really cute too." Jimin stated, a warm smile on his lips. He ran his hands through Yoongi's hair before pulling him into a warm and gentle kiss.
"No one else has anything on you. You're the one I care about and I can promise you that nothing will ever change about that." Jimin promised, his tone almost a whisper. Yoongi felt warmth flood him, just like whenever Jimin sang him to sleep.
"Thanks." Yoongi smiled, pulling Jimin down onto the bed with him and hugging him tightly. "I love you."
"I love you, too."
