This can't be
Izaya blinked looking around, the light burning his eyes. "Ugh," he grunted trying to sit up. He was in a small white room with two cabinets and a chair next to him. An oxygen mask was covering his mouth and nose and an IV drip attached to his left arm.
He tried to remember what had happened not really sure of anything. His whole body hurt as if he had been beaten up. In that moment he remembered everything and he sprang up trying to stand. All his body protested and he fell to the floor with a silent yell. "Izaya!" Shinra yelled coming into the room. "Don't move around too much you have a broken ankle, three ribs, and a punctured lung." "and Shizuo?" Shinra looked away and towards the door. "He died a week ago, his funeral was two days after that."
Izaya stared for a few moments before starting to laugh, "Finally! Finally, that monster is dead!" He continued to laugh out loud, but his laughs sounded somewhat broken. "You sicken me, you know that Izaya, I have been your friend for so long, I always hope that you will change..." Izaya stopped laughing and looked at Shinra with a smile that didn't reach his eyes.
"The truth is I pity you Izaya you love all of humanity, but you yourself do not notice that you are the most human out of all of us." At that Izaya frowned and looked at his hands. "Why don't you ever take your mask down Izaya?" Izaya didn't answer. "I've called a taxi to take you home, I have another client that is coming today so I won't be able to take care of you, I'll come over every two days to check your injuries, here," Shinra threw a small bag with two flasks inside, "one contains vitamins, you need to eat more, the other contains painkillers, I'm sorry Izaya." "Don't worry Shinra," Izaya muttered before sitting in bed. Shinra nodded and went outside.
-Izaya's POV-
As soon as my apartment's door closed I let myself slowly fall down to the floor. Why, why do I felt this way? Shouldn't I be happy, Shizuo is gone, he's gone for good! Then why did it hurt so much. "Shizu-chan," I whispered. My apartment felt so cold. I hugged myself, my ribs protesting in the process but I paid them no mind. "Shizu-chan, was I not the one that was supposed to kill you?" My voice sounded weak, so weak and pathetic. I let my mask break and in an instant tears were sliding down my cheeks and onto the cold floor. "Why? Why do I feel like this?!" I felt a sudden pain in my chest, thinking it was my lung I slowed my breathing until it was even. Ashamed of letting my mask fall I quickly put it back on and smiled.
"Well, Shizu-chan is gone so I guess it's time for me to have some fun in Ikebukuro." However, when I went to stand my feet gave from under me and I came to crash on the floor once again. "Ugh," I grunted, now my body felt worse than before, "stupid Shinra, how am I even supposed to walk around, I can't even stand up." Getting on my hands and knees I pushed myself upright with my right foot. "This is going to be harder than I thought." Making to walk towards my room I gulped, 'of course, stairs'. Jumping on one foot hurt like hell, his broken ribs protested every single time. "You know what, I'll sleep on the couch today." Taking the pills with me I took the painkillers before laying down and closing my eyes. 'I'll fix everything tomorrow, I'm Izaya Orihara!"
-Normal POV-
Shinra smiled sadly at seeing his friend sleeping on the couch, he probably had been in too much pain to go up the stairs, he was even surprise he had made it to the taxi, much less his couch. Shinra knew he had been too harsh on Izaya, he shouldn't have sent him off like that when he was injured. "You better pay me for this Shinra," Kadota whispered from besides him. Shinra smirked and handed blankets to the frowning man in front of him, "why, but you're also his friend aren't you?" Kadota scowled and looked towards Izaya, "What did you told him?" Shinra shrugged and started walking towards the door. "The truth, Shizuo died and was buried two days after." Kadota could only shake his head.
