An excited trill escaped the little mer pup as he hid behind a rock, his brown and gold tail wiggling as he kept his eyes trained on the red mer. "I can hear you Faz." The red mer says as he looks over at the rock, amused as he can see some of the fins of his youngest brother wiggling around. "No you can't!" The mer pup giggles as he pounced over the rock, giving chase as the red mer pup swam away with a laugh weaving through the coral and rocks to keep away. A sad warble left the younger red mer who was tucked into his father's neck, who just let out a hum of acknowledgment before going back to grabbing a few oysters. "Alex don't go to far." Chris reminded as he put a few oysters into a seaweed bag he had weaved, keeping a hand securely on his pup's back. He was still a bit unsettled with his pup sneaking out of the den, so he kept him close while his two behaving pups played in his line of sight. "Dad can I play too?" Max asks softly as he nuzzles his face into his neck, letting out a soft trill please-I'llbegood-play-please only getting a possessive rumble as a response and the hand keeping him close pushing his face gently back into his neck. "No you'll have to wait till we're at the den sweetheart." Chris rumbles softly as he notices a crab, letting go of his pup trusting that he'll stay put as he grabs the little creature.

A chirp left Faz as he hid in some sand, wiggling into it to hide himself in it as Alex swam by. "Faz!" The red mer pup called out teasingly as he looked around for his baby brother, making sure he could still see Max and his Dad. Alex let out a trill as he looked around rocks and coral, smiling and giggling when he could hear Faz let out excited chirps and squeaks whenever he swam over the mer pup hidden in the sand. "Alright boys, come on!" Chris calls out as he holds the few snacks he found his pups, smiling as he saw the two swimming over eagerly. "I got you a shell Maxi!" Alex purrs as he hands his twin a pretty shell he had found, curling by his father's fins. "I got you seaweed!" Faz cheered as he curled up by his father's neck, a small purr leaving his chest as he gave the seaweed to the red mer pup. "Thank you." Max mumbled as he looked at the gifts his brothers got him, letting out a rumbling purr as he held them close while clutching onto his dad's neck. "That was sweet of you boys." Chris praised as he begun his way to their den, keeping the crab securely help in his hand and away from his pup's delicate little fins and scales.

"You don't love me." Max hisses at his father unhappily, holding the crab meat in his hands as he tucked himself into a small crevice where his protector couldn't get him. "Come out pup." Chris sighs as he rips out some more meat from the crab, feeding it to the other two pups. "No! You were mean!" The mer pup let out an upset chirp help-protector-want-love-love-love making the older mer try to reach into the crevice to get his upset pup. "Come out little one, I hate it when you hide from me." Chris hisses unhappily, letting out a clicking noise come-mypup-love-mine-mine when he couldn't reach Max. Alex watched on amused as he ate his crab meat, finding the whole thing hilarious as Chris and Max just put each other further and further into their instincts. "Do you want me to get him dad?" Alex offered as he tried to pull more crab meat out for Faz, letting out a chirp when he seceded. Mine-pup-come was the only response he got as the older mer was still trying to get into the crevice. "Max you're gonna make yourself upset and dad's gonna freak out." Alex says softly as he swam closer, being mindful of his protector and his warming hiss. "Dad's gonna fill this one with rocks too!" Faz giggles as he chews on his crab meat, his little claws and teeth trying to put the meat into smaller pieces.

Once Max had finally left the crevice a crying babbling mess, the pod had taken to the nursery for some rest. Chris couldn't help the happy trill escaping him as he watched his pups sleep, holding them close to his body to keep them warm.
