Carter's POV-

A soft breeze blows the little grass around Zia and I. She sighs a contended sigh and looks up at the autumn sky.

"What did I ever do to deserve you?" I ask her.

"Oh I don't know. You never saved my life!" Zia said in a joking manner. I was going to tell her that I did but I got interrupted by the one person I didn't want to see right now. My sister. The famous Sadie Kane.

"Sadie!" I say sitting up. "What are you doing here?"

"Just wanted to see if Zia wanted to go to the mall with me," Sadie says innocently.

"We are on a date!" I say.

"I realize that. I'll just ask Walt," she says sighing.

"Maybe," Zia starts. "Maybe Walt, you, Carter and I could go shopping on a double date."

"That's a great idea!" Sadie exclaims. She skips away as Zia stands up. I follow her lead saying, "A double date?"

"It might be fun," she says and shrugs. I grab her hand as we walk back to our mansion. Once we get inside, we see Sadie coming down the stairs, Walt following. Sadie was dressed up in her usual attire: black combat boots, skinny jeans, white short-sleeve shirt, and black leather jacket.

"You know it will be harder to do spells in that outfit," I pointed out.

"Oh well. I like the outfit so I can wear it out," she says and brushes past me and Zia. We all head up to the roof where Freak is.

"We're going to travel like this?" I ask.

"No," she says.

"Then why are we up here?" I retort.

"Just wait one moment!" Sadie says.

Sadie then goes back inside, Walt following, leaving me and Zia alone up here. "I'm sorry, Zia," I say and face her.

"Why are you apologizing?" she asks.

"This is not how I wanted our date to go," I whisper.

"So?" Zia says, moving toward me. "Nothing bad has happened yet." As soon as she said that, it started raining. No. Not raining. Pouring!

"Seriously?" I ask. "Sadie ruins everything!"

"Carter, calm down." Zia says. She is right in front of me, placing her hands on my chest. "Sadie doesn't ruin everything. Nothing's ruined. Spending time with you, even if its in the rain, is anything I could ask for."

She got on her tippy toes and I closed the space between us.

"Excuse me!" a girl says. Sadie. I lean away and glare at my sister.

"We are not going with you. Zia and I are perfectly fine up here," I say. Sadie opens her mouth but I say, "Go spend time with Walt and Anubis."

She leaves and I look back at Zia. Suddenly, soft slow music starts playing. "May I have this dance?" I ask Zia.

"Yes," she replies and I place both of my hands on her hips. She wraps her hands around my neck and start to dance slowly. We just stare at each other the whole time. I lean down and kiss her. We stopped moving and she brought her hands up to my hair, playing with it. I bring my hands up to cup her face. She pulls away and puts her head on my chest.

"I love you," she whispered.

"I love you too!" I say. I rest my chin on the top of her head. The door that leads to the roof and Sadie pokes her head out and smiles, giving a thumbs up. I just smile back at her. She left, shutting the door quietly. I sigh in delight. I have the best sister and the best girlfriend ever.
