In this AU, Ruby didn't die, Julius didn't turn into Osiris, the Egyptian gods aren't real, and Walt isn't there. Anubis is a regular human being and they live in Manhattan.

Sadie's POV-

"Carter, get in here right now!" I yell. He comes walking in and glares at me.

"What do you want?" he asks.

"I'm going out on a date with Anubis," I tell him. "And you gotta stall Mom and Dad while I'm gone."

"Why would I agree to this?" he asks.

"Because I'll set you up with that girl you like," I say and his cheeks redden. "What's her name? Sally? Harper? Zoe?"

"Zia," Carter says.

"Yeah, Zia," I say while grabbing my leather jacket. "Now please stall for me."

"I guess." He hugs me quickly and I leave. I walk to the graveyard for our date. I don't know why he picked it.

"Sadie," someone says and I look around. I see Anubis walking toward me from up a hill.

"Hey Anubis," I say, smiling. "So, what are we going to do?"

"Obviously go on a date," he says and I laugh.

"Not without us," says a voice from behind us. I turn around to see my blasted family and Zia.

"Carter!" I hiss. "Why'd you bring them here?"

"Carter told us that you were going on a date so we decided to meet the boy," Mom says. "He also brought along a girl."

"Carter, may I speak to you alone?" I ask him.

"Sure," he says smirking. We walk to the side.

"Why'd you do that?"

"Oh, revenge for everything you have done to me," he says. "Telling them about Zia, telling them that I broke the lamp, which I didn't!"

"Seriously?" I say.

"Yeah," he says.

"Ugh, fine," I say, walking back to my parents and Anubis. "Anubis and I were going out to eat so I guess you people could come with."

All Anubis does is smile. We walk to a nice restaurant and we get a table for six. "What would you like to drink?" a lady asks.

"Soda," I say. "Surprise me."

"Water is fine," Anubis says.

"Sweet tea," Zia says.

"Coke," Carter says.

"Wine," Dad says.

"Wine as well," Mom says.

The waitress walks away, leaving just me and my family. "So," I say.

"Why didn't you tell us you were going on a date with a boy?" Dad questions.

"Because," I say. "You're my parents."

"Yeah," Mom says slowly. "And you should tell us things."

"I'm sorry," I say sassily. "Like Carter tells you anything."

"We're not talking about Carter," Dad says. "We're talking about you."

"I actually like Anubis," I blurt.

"And you didn't want us messing it up," Mom says. "I get it. I did the same with my parents."

"You did?" I ask.

"Of course! Every girl goes through it."

Mom smiles at me and I smile back. "Nice to meet you Mr. and Mrs. Kane," Anubis says after a minute.

"Nice to meet you too," Dad says. "You too Zia."

"Nice to meet you guys," Zia says. "Now, I'm really hungry and I wish that waitress would come back soon."

We all laugh and have a great rest of the night.
