Okay! I'm gonna start off this diary-like shit with a reaction! I hope this turns out well, because I often lose myself in stating my opinions, reactions, emotions and certain stuff about certain stuff.

So okay I just recently read a book named Bad Boys Don't Smile by phanci and I swear, I hadn't been so dedicated in finishing a book so fast in so long.

Okay I won't state spoilers, because damn I don't wanna ruin the surprise, but this basically states the story of Phil trying to get inside Dan's life despite other's warnings about him.

I hope that that was enough light for you guys to have an insight on this book.

Let me start by saying how never, I mean never have I pictured Dan Howell and Phil Lester to be something other than the comedic babies that they are in their youtube videos. It may be hard to admit or just a mindless thought that we do, but most of us are comfortable imagining people in the way we see them everyday. Same goes for Korean pop idols, we can imagine them as a part of a cute, romantic, sexy, violent and sometimes too disturbing to be typed down here due to certain prompts or ideas that we receive whenever we watch them perform on shows and such. So it was safe to say, for me at least, that I found myself adjusting to the fanfiction nature that Dan is an emo kid (even if he is an absolute noisy muffin) and that Phil is a happy kid who sees all the good in the world.

Due to the uncomfortable feeling, I decided to focus not on the visual idea of the scenes but rather the very plot of the thing. I'm not a person fond of too much angst because I already have so much shit going on in my life, the least that I could do is to lessen the shitty feeling. But no- this Phanfic dragged me down the bad side of life and slapped onto my face that I could never escape negativity forever.

Don't take it the other way- I actually liked the positive setback it had for me. Because of that, I actually came to the realizations that despite the rainy seasons and the nights filled with darkness, there will always be a promise of sunshine and daylight just in the right time.

Setting my sentimental and pretty poetic comment aside, what really made this fanfic hit me in my fcking heart was how it was greatly written, in a way that it could bring people at the edge of their seats and eventually at the position of the characters as they go through certain dilemmas in their lives. I was left screaming at my phone at certain scenes here that ticked my patience because this showcased certain people in the world that we either disregard, encounter or simply just live with in the world. I am really surprised at how broad my level of knowledge is about the world around me, and it saddened me at a point.

And I really like how this story- DANG IT I REALLY WANNA SAY IT BUT I'LL RUIN THE SURPRISE.

So if I were you, I'd probably just go and read it to finally understand what the hell is this young girl going on about.

Of course, I'm not recommending this book for those people who don't practice boyxboy ships because I understand your reasons, I'm just letting out my pent up feelings because I just finished the book in four hours straight even if I'm already a bit sleepy and that I should be asleep by now. Yes I'm a night owl haha

And I am more than sure that a lot of people did as well! Uh, that's all! Thanks again for writing such an amazing fanfic :)

P.S There might be some people who'd probably read the book and say how it'd be another one of those badboy stories or stuff like that but let me tell you this: "We may not admit it, but there are some people who have a soft spot for cliches, or just a story with a slightly fabricated plotline."
