PERSONALITY

taking the position that he is, jesse has to do his best to be serious at all times. though, this ends up failing halfway through a majority of the time. he can be serious when it's absolutely necessary, or when he sees the situation as a serious one, but at any other time, he struggles to steer away from his naturally light and fairly easy-going personality. he can take several hits to his light personality without it even being affected. the only things he can't take lightly are those things that he's passionate about. if someone were to start attacking him because of his choice of career, then you might find a side of him that isn't so light.

jesse may rarely be sarcastic, but he is playful. he keeps his teasing to a minimum around large crowds, if possible, because it can often times lead to him flirting. however, he can't help something that is simply who he naturally is. he isn't always genuine about his flirting, merely because it happens that naturally. If there's an opportunity, he takes it without questioning himself. other than that, though, jesse is known for having a good amount of self-control. if he wants something that he knows he isn't able to have, he can be reasonable and hold himself back from going after it. while he is determined, he's only determined to a certain extent.

jesse hasn't always been known for his brain. while he's observant and intelligent where talking to others is concerned, he never was intelligent in the form of books. he made decent grades throughout school, but he would never be one of those kids who could spout out facts at the drop of a hat. he always admired those who had those skills, but was also accepting that it wasn't something he would be able to do. studying and focusing on studying was always something that was difficult for him when all he wanted to do was move around.

a lot of his friends also say that jesse is a pretty steady person. he never really pulls out many hat tricks of things that will surprise you, because everyone expects that, since he's open, they know everything about him. though, jesse isn't as open as it might seem at first glance. he isn't the most honest person at times, but he will always answer any question given to him, expecting that people will answer his in return. he happens to have a skill for hiding things, having gotten good at making it appear as though he had nothing to hide so that the media wouldn't go searching too deep into him. plus, even if someone did, jesse has every necessary secret under wraps.

jesse has had a lot of career choices that he has gone through, so he's tried quite a few things that have been turned into hobbies as he realised that it wasn't something he was serious about.

⇀ social skills. jesse is good with people of all sorts, given that he's laid back. even if he doesn't like someone, he's good at pretending he does. after all, he's in the field of acting, you pick up a thing or two.

⇀ confidence. jesse is actually far from arrogant, so his confidence tends to be on a healthy level, making it a strength rather than a weakness or flaw.

⇀ emotional strength. jesse isn't going to ever say he's the best at controlling his emotions, because he is quite the opposite. however, he knows how to handle them.

BACKSTORY

jesse was only in foster care for the first couple of months after being put into the system at the age of two. he was adopted by the hearst family after they had been fostering him. he never minded being adopted, but it did always bother him that his brother and him had been separated. with the help of his new family, he found his brother and had been talking with him ever since.

jesse has a short history of drinking due to unknown history about his own parents being alcoholics. however, he "easily" pulled himself away from all of that before he could fall off the rails.

his foster parents were fairly strict, but they were always supportive. when jesse changed his career fifteen times, they helped him along the way, even when he insisted he didn't want or need it. a few months prior to the selection, jesse was in an accident on set, and it was the first time he had heard from his parents that they didn't support something he did. of course, it was a slightly dangerous job, currently leaving him with a slight limp that will take at least another four months to get over.

however, jesse got lucky that he had happened to meet the crown prince, jude schreave on one of his sets and had kept in contact with him since. when the news spread over the media, jude called him and listened to jesse explain that he was having to take a break from acting. jude offered him the position of the selected tutor, and, of course, jesse happily accepted with the full intent of returning to stunt acting once he was better.

⇀ a lot of the media assumes that because jesse isn't in a serious relationship, and never has been, that he sleeps around. even since being in a committed relationship with katelyn, their views never seemed to change.
