Maxis rushed up the front steps of the porch, fumbling with her keys in panic, completely unaware of the events that had taken place. Soon enough, Maxis unlocked the door and flung it open, rushing inside the house, Shannon followed behind. Both of them horrified to find Kyle laying at the bottom of the steps, unconscious with his stab wound and the bruises around his neck from where Ghostface was choking him.

After Maxis and Shannon found Kyle's unconscious body, Shannon called 911 and got an ambulance on their way to the house, while Maxis stayed by her unconscious brother, trying to apply pressure to the stab wound, while her eyes were filling with tears, looking at her brother.

Once the paramedics got there, they loaded Kyle into the ambulance and the two girls would then follow behind the ambulance, as they drove to the nearest hospital.

When they arrived, Shannon would message everyone else about the situation, wanting to let them all know about what happened.

After texting them, Shannon and Maxis would wait in the waiting room, letting the doctors patch Kyle up in peace. Maxis would continuously pace back and forth though, while Shannon sat in a chair.

The waiting room was also the place where a doctor would eventually tell Maxis and Shannon that Kyle would survive and that they were able to patch him up. However, they didn't let either of them back to see him, at least not right away.

Soon after hearing that news, Maxis let out the biggest sigh of relief, and she finally sank into a chair. Shannon would sit next to her and give her a few pats on the back, letting her friend know that she was there for her.

A little bit later, three of their friends managed to show up. Scotty was the first to arrive. Then, Jaren and John would be not that far behind. Evan was the only one missing.

"How is he?" Jaren asked, his face full of concern.

Shannon took the reins for this question, "They were able to stop his bleeding and patched him up. He's still unconscious for now, however."

Jaren nodded, appreciating her response, "At least he's alright."

John would then chime in, "How about you guys? How are you?"

Shannon looked towards Maxis and then back to the others, "We're fine I guess? Just glad that he is going to pull through."

Maxis nodded as well, however she didn't speak. She was deep in thought, mostly about her brother and what happened.

Scotty, John and Jaren would all take a seat near the other two. Scotty, however, would also look around.

"Where's Evan? I thought he would be here by now..." He spoke.

Shannon shrugged, "he's in the group chat I messaged earlier, so I don't know..."

As the group pondered Evan's whereabouts, one of the doctors came over to the group.

"He is awake. Usually, I would only let family members go back, but there isn't a whole lot of you, so you're all free to head back to his room." The doctor spoke, smiling gently towards the group.

Maxis was the first one up, quickly rushing to her brother's room. Shannon, Scotty, John and Jaren all following behind, but not as fast, as they wanted to let Maxis spend as much time with her brother.

When Maxis entered the room, she quickly rushed over to the bed and engulfed her brother into a hug.

"I'm so sorry..." She bit her lip and mumbled, while hugging her brother.

"Don't..." Kyle began to speak, noticing that she didn't respond to it, "Maxis, look at me..." he continued, now looking at her before speaking again, "You have nothing to apologize for. This was, in no way, shape or form, your fault. Plus, the bastard barely even winded me." He added, trying to give her a reassuring smile.

Maxis bit her lip and remained silent, however she did nod after listening to him. The brother and sister duo sitting in silence for a few minutes.

Then, the others would arrive at Kyle's door, knocking on the doorframe. Kyle would look over to them and motion for them to come in.

Shannon would come over first and give him a quick kiss, being relieved that her boyfriend was awake and breathing.

John, Jaren and Scotty would all come over and sit near his bed. The group would now talk about what happened, each one being curious. They were rather surprised, however, that Kyle didn't mind talking about it. They thought for sure he'd dismiss them and want to talk about something else.

Evan finally arrived after about an hour of Kyle regaining consciousness. Everyone looked towards him, when he finally entered the room.

"The fuck kept you?" John asked.

"They found Stevie's boyfriend murdered." Evan replied, not really giving a full answer to John's question.

"What?" Scotty replied, sounding like he didn't believe him.

Evan nodded, "Apparently he was stabbed multiple times and, if that wasn't bad enough, the murderer hung them up on the flag pole outside the college..."

Before anyone else could say anything, Jaren cleared his throat and spoke.

"Uh, are you sure we should be talking about that? Considering what happened to Kyle tonight?" He asked.

"Yeah, what the fuck, Evan?" John added.

"Guys, don't hound the poor dude. I mean, its not like he's the one who killed them." Kyle chuckled and continued his defense of Evan, "He was just keeping us informed about something the rest of us didn't know." He replied, smiling toward everyone.

After that, John spoke, somewhat changing the subject, "I just don't get how you can be so cheerful after what happened to you."

Kyle smiled, "Well, I'm still breathing, aren't I?" He chuckled, "The bastard barely got me."

Maxis grumbled something under her breath, probably about how that wasn't true. She genuinely couldn't believe how he seemed like it was all a big joke, it kind of irritated her. However, she bit her tongue and kept quiet.

The group of friends would continue to talk to Kyle, spending pretty much the whole night at the hospital. At least, until visiting hours were over. They all said good night to Kyle, and would come back to visit him the next day, after their classes.
