~Ending Summary~
I apologize, but I have lost the motivation to finish this story. It hurts to not finish this story completely and give it justice. I really do love this book because it holds so many memories I hold dear to my heart. I won't try to describe those memories to you: they wouldn't strike a chord in your heart like they do to me. If I could go back in time to the summer Detroit: Become Human was in its prime and re-write every word of this story, I would.
But, unfortunately, I can't do that. So, here is a brief summary describing the ending of the fan fiction I hold so dear to my heart.
After their long discussion at Ambassador Bridge, Hank and Y/N return home to get some well deserved rest. Meanwhile, Connor has found the location of Jericho. He asks around the abandoned freighter for where their leader, Markus is. When Connor finds him on the second floor of the hideout, word was quickly spread about the oncoming attack from the FBI. The Deviants quickly prepared for the raid.
The next morning came and went like the blink of an eye. As the sun began to set, Hank, Y/N, and Sumo remained at home waiting for their beloved RK800 to return home. When the doorbell rang, Y/N was obviously the first one to swing open the front door. She tackled Connor in a hug, but to get no response. Instead, he insisted that he needed assistance converting the dormant Androids in the basement of CyberLife tower. Everything about Connor seemed off. Y/N even noticed that his serial number had been changed from 313 - 248 - 317 - 60 instead of the 52 it was at before. When this detail was mentioned, a gun was drawn on the two.
Connor -52, on the other hand, set off for CyberLife tower in hopes of awakening the dormant Androids located in the basement of the tower. He had made a deal with Markus to gather more Androids to help their peaceful demonstration. If the U.S. Army was overwhelmed, then they would surrender and release the trapped deviants in the recycling camps. He snuck his way down into the basement.
With a gun to their heads, Hank and Y/N drove to CyberLife tower by Connor -60's command. The trio was able to get in by Connor -60 sharing a few secret words with a guard standing nearby. With that, they were sent to the basement of the tower. When they reached the destination, Hank was met with his "long-lost" friend, and Y/N met with her lover. Yet they were both unable to move with the threat of being shot.
Short, stressful minutes were spent negotiating over the fate of all the remaining deviants or the lives of two humans. After Connor -52 took a misstep in trying to move closer to the scene, Y/N was knocked out unconscious by Connor -60's gun. When she came back to her senses, the two Connors were brawling and Hank was at her side desperately trying to wake her up again. She quietly spoke to him to grab the gun dropped on the ground. When he did so, she dashed to the closest dormant Android. Y/N desperately commanded the Androids to refrain Connor -60 from fighting with Connor -52. In a matter of seconds, her command was fulfilled. With the fake Connor being restrained by the multiple AP700's, Hank took the chance to kill him with the gun he had dropped.
Y/N and Connor rejoiced that they were both alive and well by hugs and soft kisses. When the pain in Y/N's temples returned, Connor requested that she was sent back to a nearby hospital as soon as possible. The two fought for some short amount of time, until the trio departed again. Hank and Y/N attempted to discreetly leave the high-guarded tower while Connor led the new army of deviants behind him.
As Connor went off to complete his new mission, Y/N was admitted to the nearby hospital to check if her concussion had returned. The Android nurse passed it off as just pain from falling to the ground earlier. As they were getting ready to leave, the local News on a television screen in the waiting room showed the Android demonstration. Connor had succeeded in leading the army of Androids from CyberLife tower, and was on his way to the life of the event. Hank then saw a yearning look in Y/N's eyes. That's when he quickly packed up what they needed and ran out of the hospital as quickly as they could. Energy was coursing through both of them like lightning in their blood. They slammed their car doors as Hank pushed on the gas pedal through the empty streets of downtown Detroit.
In Hart Plaza, Connor and the remaining deviants of Jericho met. The army had finally retreated from the deviant's fort, allowing them to make a makeshift stage for Markus and the leaders of Jericho to stand on, over their people. In perfect timing, Hank screeched his car to a halt right behind a group of reporters with cameras and lights. Y/N immediately hopped out of said car and shoved her way through the reporters. Without realizing it, she had pushed away a barricade separating the public from the conflict near the recall center. By pure instinct Y/N and Connor met in a hug. A few words were shared between Markus and the human forcefully involving herself in the demonstration. Soon, the four leaders of Jericho, Connor and Y/N stood on the stage above the huge crowd of Androids. She looked out over the crowd, and felt empowerment in her soul.
Beside her, Connor seemed to be having difficulty. She remained calm, though. All along, somehow she had a feeling that CyberLife wasn't going to let him get away with deviancy so easily. As his hand twitched for the gun in his back pocket, she grabbed his hand. She held his hand, and held it tight. When the straight line of his lips turned to a content smile, she knew that this was what she was supposed to be doing. Every event throughout her life, no matter good or bad, had led her to this moment. She was finally happy where she was, and who she was with. Hank and Connor made her feel whole again, and nothing would ever change that.
Nothing.
This was her life now, and she was proud with it.
And with that, Scatterbrained comes to an end. Thank you all for reading and leaving comments, votes, etc. It means the world to me. I'm sorry I couldn't finish this story and make all of you happy, but this is the best I could do without tearing my hair out.
This was a fantastic journey, and I hope I can experience something like this again.
Until next time.
