Patton x reader

He Finds Out He Loves You

You and Patton have been friends for a while now. He helped you heal your broken heart by taking you out to places like the ice cream shop and a couple of parks. You two were practically inseparable, as you both shared an appreciation for Dad jokes and making others happy. The more time you spent together, the more love you had for each other. He grew to appreciate how wonderfully optimistic you always were, even when you had your bad days. You loved how respectful and caring he was, consistently performing selfless actions that left you wanting more out of the relationship. Despite the feelings you had for each other, both of you were too shy to make any advances nor confess to each other. Both of you were too shy, and feared rejection from the other. So both of you decided to keep these feelings a secret.

One day, you two were baking cookies at the Sanders house. Patton called you in help him resolve some tensions between his three 'sons.' The three sides viewed both of you as their parents, and always teased the father figure for having a crush on you. They occasionally teased you about Patton as well. Even though it absolutely annoyed you both, both of you couldn't help but imagine what it would be like to date the other.

Both of you went upstairs and opened the door to the loft with a tray of freshly baked cookies. However, you were greeted with a full fledged fight between the three personalities and almost dropped the tray completely. Patton separated all of them while you handed them cookies to calm all of them down. "I'll go get more cookies, Pat," You said quietly. As you left the room, Patton soon realized the true reason why the sides were fighting in the first place.

"(Y/n) will confess first! I just know it!" Virgil yelled out, continuing their argument. "Well as the gentleman, I know Patton will set up the most romantic place and confess his love like a prince!" Roman declared, drawing his sword out for some reason. Maybe to emphasize his point. "What you both lack is statistical evidence that lead me to the conclusion that neither party will confess their infatuations to the other," Logan said sophisticatedly and with a hint of arrogance. Before they could charge at each other, Patton told them to stop, a raging blush spreading across his cheeks. "You guys... are you seriously fighting about who will confess first? W-we don't even like each other!" Patton exclaimed stubbornly. At that, the three sides whipped their heads around to glare at the embodiment of sentimentality and emotions. "I know you're lying," they all said in unison. Even though Patton wanted to admit it, he couldn't let himself believe it. He didn't want to be heartbroken if he ever got his hopes up. "Come on guys. Even if I did like them, t-t-they would never like me back..." he trailed off sadly.

Roman felt bad for the personality and pat his back reassuringly. "Come on Pat. We all know they love you. You just don't see it." Logan nodded, moving to sit next to his friend. "Roman is correct in this statement, and if you so desire, I am willing to provide sufficient data  and evidence that they are indeed infatuated with you. Maybe that may...well... give you a sense of solace." Virgil felt like he couldn't contribute like Logan or Roman did, but he could provide emotional support to his father. "Dad...even if they didn't love you back, you know all of us still care about you and will do anything to keep that smile on your face." Patton's eyes widened and looked up at Virgil with shock, never once hearing Virgil express such sentiment to him until now. He teared up and brought all of them into a suffocating group hug. "Aw! You guys are the sweetest!!" He exclaimed happily. After letting his sons finally breathe from the bone-crushing hug, he clapped his hands together excitedly. "Now boys, you could definitely help your old pops out!" The other sides looked at him expectantly. "Yes? Anything you need Patton," Roman said. Patton blushed and stared at them shyly. "How do I win (y/n)'s love?" He asked. The three personalities looked at each other for a moment, then grinned at the enthusiastic man.

"We'll show you how."
