"(Y/n)." You turn around from your place on the open field to see your worried boyfriend. You knew you were in for a long rant from him for disappearing so suddenly just by the way his eyebrow arched up slightly accompanied by that tight smile. "I've been looking everywhere for you," he said stiffly. "Do you enjoy toying with my practically nonexistent emotions all the time, or are you just keen on successfully giving me a heart attack?" He spoke to you with a hiss and a hidden tremble behind each word that slipped from his mouth.

To be honest, you ran away without telling anyone because you needed time alone. Your mind felt blank whenever you tried brainstorming some ideas for your newest music album. You needed this time to find inspiration in the places you found it best: nature. You knew he would be worried about you for suddenly disappearing, as you were not always feeling emotionally well these past couple of months, but you needed time to be your true self without anyone else judging you.

He sat down next to you with a heavy sigh and followed your eyesight up to the stars in the sky. You didn't have to explain anything to him because he knows how you feel. He knows how overwhelming life can feel and the need to find a peaceful place to calm down. "The stars sure look lovely tonight," he said shyly. Ever since he committed to this relationship, he's tried ever so subtly to be more romantic when you're alone with him. He hesitantly reached out to take your cold hand and was surprised when you eagerly grasped his too. You looked at him and signaled him to lay down with you on the soft bed of grass. He smiled a rare smile and complied, allowing you to lay your head on his chest for this one time.

"The concept of space is so intriguing, (y/n). There is no such thing as the end in our universe, as the worlds beyond us are infinite and beautiful," he said quite in awe.

"I like to think that the stars, in fact, remind me—"

"—of you."

He paused and looked at you with confusion. "What?"

You kissed his chest tenderly and placed your head on his chest, looking up at the stars once more. "The stars remind me of you. Just like a star, you shine brighter than any light here on earth. You have this natural beauty to you that takes my breath away. Be it your intellect, or your dry humor, your existence is one in a million and I'm so grateful to have you as my boyfriend."

He looked at you with tears in his eyes and you couldn't help but laugh at his visible signs of emotion. "Shut up! I'm not crying! I'm not..." he trailed off and whined, wiping his tears with his own tie and pulled you in tighter in his arms.

"I love you, (y/n)."

"I love you too, starlight."
