Anxiety x Reader (oneshot)

(A/n) : You could probably tell that this book is set up so that readers have one consistent personality and storyline for each Side. However, the reader's personality is different from the others (I realize this sentence doesn't make sense so an example is that the reader in each of my Logan oneshots is a musician with a patient heart and has a separate plot from the reader in Roman's oneshots, where the reader is an independent and confident person. Their oneshots explore more of Roman trying to win the heart of this reader).

The oneshots that are requested, however, can be completely separated from the plot I'm writing for each reader/side, and don't have to follow the personalities either. I'm just going to assume that the requests are going to be like this, but you guys can specify in your requests that you want it to follow the plots I'm writing. I also will have oneshots that are separate from the plot too. I'll indicate in the title when it's separate, so don't worry.

I hope this makes sense!

Platonic Relationship

As you paid the cashier for your pizza, your mind wandered to the friends you're meeting up with today. A smile graced your face when you thought of the many possible activities you could do together for the whole day. The car door shut, allowing you to be alone in your thoughts throughout your trip to Thomas's house.

You first carefully assessed the different likes and dislikes of each personality and Thomas himself in order to find the best activity that would suit all their preferences. Patton and Roman liked any activity that involved physical exercise and disliked activities that didn't allow them to go out of the house. Logan has the polar opposite with his own preference of indoor activities, but you made a mental note to convince him to go outside today. While Logan was easy to convince, your mind stalled a bit when you remembered Virgil. Your heart fluttered when you took a moment to admire him in your head before shaking those thoughts completely and remembering your slight dilemma. Virgil wasn't so easy to convince to do outdoor activities like the rest because it made him nervous. Why would he go outside to places he isn't familiar with? Not to mention, he was not exactly in good terms with the other personalities yet. Still, maybe with you being his best friend, you could possibly convince him to just try something new today.

The wheels of your car screeched to a stop as you reached Thomas's house. Grabbing the pizza and your keys, you make your way to the front door. Before you knocked, however, the door swung open to a pair of glasses and a charming smile. "Hi, (y/n)!!!" Patton said happily. He didn't give you time to answer, before shoving you inside and shutting the door quickly. You were slightly confused about why he was acting so strangely, but your questions were immediately answered when you were greeted with a chaotic sight.

"Help me..." Patton uncharacteristically said seriously. You looked back at the scene and realized that the others were fighting over the very thing you were thinking of earlier: what to do today with you.

"I wanted to go out and shop with (y/n)!" Roman yelled angrily. You sighed in disappointment at his failure to suppress his passion and emotions. "I agree with Roman, Virgil. We've always stayed indoors when there are no guests with us, so it should be reasonable to go out now that (y/n) is here." That logic can come from no other than Logan himself.

Before you could intervene, you watched Virgil huff angrily before disappearing into the ground.

Back in Thomas' mind.

That is not a good sign at all.

Crossing your arms angrily, you looked at the three other personalities in the room, silently hoping that he was okay.

"Bring him back. I need to speak with him," you said with a hint of a snarl. Of course, the personalities and Thomas himself knew not to make you too angry. Heavy with heart, Thomas summoned Virgil and prompted the three other personalities to move upstairs to give you two privacy.

"Don't worry. It's just me and you, Virgil," you reassured to him as he started to freak out as to what was going on. You sat down on the couch and pat the space next to you, allowing him to take his time to sit down. When he did, you turned your body towards him, giving him your full attention.

"What did they say to you?" You asked quietly.

The personality simply sighed, body sulking deeper into the couch. "I wanted to stay at home and spend time with you, but the others wanted to go outside. They said I was being too anxious. As if that's not what I do!" He exclaimed, his words growing with more intensity and anger. You simply rest a hand on his shoulder to calm him down.

"Then we don't need to go outside, Virgil. We don't have to go outside to have fun," you spoke gently before looking outside the window. Surely enough, it was raining outside.

"Perhaps a nice game of cards and a movie marathon sounds better than playing in the ray and getting soaked to the brim?" You offered with a grin.

He smiled, unsure of what to say. This was what he admired about you. You always stuck up for him, for everyone you met and care about.

He couldn't help but hug you tight, silently thanking you in his own way. Words would only make him anxious and will only result to him tripping over his own words.

"Oh, Virgil. It's no big deal. I'm sure Patton and Logan will get behind this idea once I tell them!" You exclaimed while patting his back.

And sure enough, they did. They were more than happy to compromise and do new things with you and Thomas while staying indoors. Even Roman was happy to stay indoors for once. As you snuggled up to the anxious personality, he couldn't help but feel grateful that he had a wonderful friend like you.
