He Finds Out He Loves You
You had to admit, Virgil scared the hell out of you when you first met him. After your introductions he continued to be pretty mean and rude to you. It was only when he was so mean to where you reached the point of sobbing in front of him, did he really drop his act and start caring for you. Truth be told, Virgil did like you from the start. He thought you were very adorable when you acted shyly towards him. However, he had a hard time accepting his desire to be your friend so he tried to act mean to you to push you away. After explaining this to you, you forgave Virgil and became his friend.
To your surprise, he was a very caring friend. While it was strange to be friends with a mental illness, you found him to be sweet, and pretty hilarious too. You two loved to listen to music together. You even gave him enough courage to jam out together while music blasts from his speakers, until you both are worn out. You gave him the courage to come out of his shell. He was so comfortable with you, and he could never thank you enough for being patient through his process of tryin to be comfortable with your friendship. However, he did feel a change in his feelings for you. His feeling of admiration and contentment grew towards feelings of love and desire.
The feeling really started when you first encountered him while he was having a panic attack. Your soothing voice and gentle touch brought shivers down his spine. He felt safe with you, complete with you. That was the first time he wanted more than just a friendship with you. The days after that, he imagined what life would be like being your boyfriend, even to the extent of what it'd be like to be your husband. His feelings grew until his love for you felt painful, overwhelming, and desperate.
That's when he began to overanalyze every action you made, hoping to see if there was a chance you loved him too. He tried flirting with you to get your attention and hopefully awaken your possible love for him, but you were always too innocent and oblivious to his flirty comments. His feelings for you haunted him everyday and he didn't know what to do. So he did what he thought he would never have to do: get love advice from the love expert himself, Prince Roman.
Roman opened the door to a sleep-deprived Virgil and made a face of pity. "Yikes. What happened to you?" Virgil groaned and dragged himself inside the prince's room. Roman watched the anxious figure carefully, taking note on his strange behavior. "Is...something wrong, Anxiety?" Virgil's ears perked up when Roman referred to his formal name. He sighed and sat on the bed. "I'm in love with (y/n) and I don't know what to do," he said bluntly. Roman felt surprised at the uncharacteristic statement from Virgil but he felt like he shouldn't judge at the moment of his vulnerability. He pondered for a moment while Virgil explained his frustration on his failed flirting attempts. "You need to do something bold, Virgil! Woo her with something romantic!" Roman declared with a sense of authority. Virgil stared at him. "So flirting isn't already a bold move, Princey," He deadpanned. Roman rolled his eyes and tried his best not to insult the other with his usual inventive nicknames. "I meant serenade them, you dolt," He said. Virgil blushed brightly, and Roman tried his best not to comment on how ridiculous Virgil looked when blushing through that foundation of his. "B-but that's insane and stupid. They'd think I'm weird..." Virgil said shyly. Roman sighed. "You know, you need to get it through their thick skull that you love them. This is the only way you can ever win anyone's heart." He paced while he thought out loud. "Besides," he added. "Everyone will swoon over a few strummed notes on a guitar and a smooth deep voice like ours." Virgil thought on the idea for a moment. Maybe it might work. "But how am I gonna even learn how to play guitar? Thomas doesn't even know how to play—"
Before he could finish his sentence, Roman took out his guitar and strummed it once, making Virgil's jaw drop. "Trust me, amigo. I'm the master of romance. Of course I know how to play guitar," he said arrogantly. Virgil rolled his eyes. This was gonna be a long night.
