Anxiety x Reader
First Meeting
"(Y/n)!" You turned your head towards your friend Lily Singh. Yes, the one and only Superwoman. You put away the book you were reading and walked over to hug your friend. You prepared some snacks while your friend talked about the different ideas for future videos on her YouTube channel. You really loved listening to her talk and occasionally giving your input. After all, most of her successful videos were from your ideas. After talking for a while over some tea, her next topic gained some interest in you.
"You know Thomas sanders right?" She asked you quickly. You nodded and sipped your tea, silently letting her continue. "Well, we just did this collab where he talks about ways of dealing with anxiety!" You sat up in your chair, intrigued and curious to know of the ways of dealing with anxiety they were able to brainstorm together. Lily continued. "Yeah and he brought his friend over too. I asked why the guy looked so freakin similar to Thomas himself, and get this: he said that it was the embodiment of his own anxiety!" She exclaimed, flailing her arms to emphasize her point. You gasped and covered your mouth in shock. You never knew that was possible. You had to meet this Thomas guy; he seems so interesting! "Hey Lily, do you mind hitting me up with his number? I gotta see for myself to believe what you just said," you said quickly. After she left, you quickly came up with a few questions to ask Thomas before you went to bed.
The next day, you had to stay for a few minutes in the car to rehearse on how to ask the questions on your crumpled up sheet of paper. 'I can do this. I can do this,' you thought to yourself. Taking a deep breath, you made your way to the front steps of the mysterious Thomas Sanders' home. To your surprise, he opened the door with a huge grin on his face and made you immediately feel welcome in his home. You two chatted for a while and asked your first few questions before you moved onto the next few that pertained to his Anxiety character. "So, Lily tells me that you have a strange case of anxiety?" You asked slowly. He was a bit surprised at the sudden turn of events but went with the flow. "Oh, yeah. She must've told you about Virgil." You furrowed your eyebrows. "Who?" You asked.
"Me," a deep voice said in your ear. You shrieked and fell off the couch with a harsh thud. Your heart raced, closing your eyes because you were afraid to see how monstrous the embodiment of anxiety would look like. "Relax, sweet cheeks, you can open your eyes," the voice said smoothly. At that, you took a few slow breaths before uncovering your eyes to look at a...
Very handsome man?
Your eyes widened in surprise. Anxiety actually didn't look that bad. You saw him smirk. "You doing ok there?" He asked cheekily. You nodded dumbly, unable to fathom how on earth a mental illness can be an actual human being. Thomas awkwardly watched as you and Virgil stared at each other intensely. Taking it as a cue to leave, Thomas got up slowly. "So uh...I'm just gonna go..." he trailed off quietly. At that, he left the two of you alone.
You gulped and sat up straight, avoiding eye contact with the intimidating man. To your misfortune, he ended up sitting next to you on the couch anyways. He crossed his arms and leaned against the edge of the couch. "What's your name?" He asked slyly. You began to shake a little, but stayed strong. "(Y/n)," you stuttered out. He smirked and reached out his hand for you to shake.
"I'm Anxiety, but you can call me Virgil."
