Virgil's Deceit (no ship)

No au, they're just in the mind.

Warning: None, but the story will probably need a few.

Third Person POV

Patton was in his room, looking at an old photo book of Thomas and the rest of the sides together. Though they were characters to everyone else, they were real to Thomas, so if Thomas could physically see them, there would be memories of them and pictures in his mind.

Patton smiled at the photos, flipping over to the next picture, noticing something different about it. He looked closer at it but couldn't figure out what it was until it finally clicked. Virgil! It was before excepting Anxiety. He was in the background and he looked a bit different. Patton smiled at the picture, seeing his dark strange son.

"He looks a bit... different, doesn't he?" A smooth voice sounded from behind him, he whipped around to see Deceit with his usual smirk.

"Deceit, you scared me! What do you want..?" Patton questioned.

"Nothing! Can't two old friends just chat with each other?"

"Really?!" Patton said, smiling.

"No, of course I want something and I think you know what it is." Deceit's smile dropped and he became serious again.

"I know what you want but the answer is no for the millionth time! He's happier here, don't you want that for him?"

"No! I want him back, do you realise what you're doing by making him a light side?! He's like a ticking time bomb, you can't hide it from him forever, nor the others! ... who else knows?" Deceit calmed at the end.

"Just Logan... he's the one who told me about it.. and you can't tell Thomas or Roman or any of the other dark sides, especially not Virgil!" Patton pleaded.

"Really, you think I, of all people, would be the one to spill the beans?"

Patton looked at him confused, "why would you spill beans...?"

"Okay, forget what I just said. Thomas' very life could be at danger here and you're just going to ignore the fact that one wrong move could send everything spiralling down?! Don't you care about him?!"

"I do, but-"

"Then you'll let him go."

Patton looked down and slowly shook his head.

"I'm sorry, Dee.... I can't do that... not now.. Not again..."

Deceit's eye glowed yellow for a moment before he spoke again.

"Fine, suit yourself, but when everything goes to shit.. don't come crawling back to me, again."

And with that, Deceit sunk down, leaving Patton's room, leaving only a small golden locket with a chain around it. Patton picking it up, opening it, tears came to his eyes as he choked back a sob and let out a large breath.

A picture of Virgil when he was just a child.

----------

K, so this is a short like preview or prologue, whatever you want to call it, for a story that I will be writing at some point. The prologue will not be on there so y'all are special bois UwU. I'm not sure whether I'm going to write the toddler one first or this one or if I'm going to write them at the same time, basically just whichever I feel like writing. The toddler one (which I haven't named) will be more fluffy a lil bit of angst (becuz I'm an angsty boi) but generally more nice and peaceful, there's not really a plot or really a main ship it's just kinda cute. This one, Virgil's Deceit, however is much different, it's more story driven so there's an actual plot and stuff (I'm not sure if Remus is going to be in it because I kinda thought of it before Remus so Idk where I would add him in it). The main characters are very much Virgil, Patton and Deceit so the main conflict is between them but the others are included in a lot of it, Logan is the only one who really has the deep knowledge about everything and Logan ends up telling Thomas a little bit but not a lot and Thomas soon finds out what's happening quickly meanwhile Roman is just confused about everything that is happening. Maybe Remus is sitting in the background watching everything happen while eating his deodorant, Idk. Now I'm rambling and this is too long and nobody's gonna read it ONCE AGAIN!

(Edit: some things may be different from the prologue and the actual story just because its two months later and I'm still trying to fully figure out the plot and how everything is going to work while also trying to focus on the toddler story! Luckily I'm taking a break for a month and trying to figure everything out but its still hard because of personal stuff bringing me down and taking time out of my day. I will be organised and on a proper updating schedule soon though!)
