"George, tell me why you got John a science set. Surely you knew he was going to blow us up or something?" Paul stared in wonder at John, who was playing with his science set on the table, and George, who was standing next to him, looking very proud of himself.

"Well, I saw me friend the other day, and she told me that when dogs behave badly, or are naughty, it's usually because they're bored or too intelligent for their own good." George replied.

"What does that mean?"

"As you well know, John is exactly like that. So, I asked me friend what she does to keep her dogs getting bored. She said that if they're trained they stop being bored. So, I bought John something to stop him being bored, and to keep his brain working." George explained.

"And you think this is going to work?" Asked Paul doubtfully.

"She said so. Anyway, it looks like it's working." George pointed at John, who was so absorbed in his science kit, he hadn't noticed the others talking about him.

Paul chuckled, and George sat next to him, and they both grinned at John's confused face, trying to work how to use his kit.
