Elsas pov.

"What s the plan?" Erika asks, her hands rubbing together in excitement.

"We need to do something you're gonna like, but you're not gonna like how we do it." Skylar muttered. Her eyes showed happiness and worry. Why Worry?

"And... What are we doing?" I asked. my heart dropped. I was excitedly scared.

"We are all amatures. Even sky lord over here," Zach gestured to Brennan. I saw a few mouths drop open, but they remained quiet as Zach continued. "We need experts helping us. The most experienced benders we know are your parents. We're bringing them back."

My mouth dropped open. "Bring them back? How?"

Zach's eyes flickered in my direction. "This is the part that none of you are going to like. There has to be a sacrifice. Someone has to find them in the afterlife. I'm sure you all have your guardian angels. Some have two. I have decided to be the one to do the sacrifice. The way it works is tonight, at about midnight, Skylar will perform a ritual which will send me to the afterlife. The thing is, I have to stay there. I have set up a granite portal upstairs. As I find them, they will be sent back through the portal. By the time it is finished, they should all be upstairs. No one touch the organization of the rocks until the ritual is finished."

I noticed Skylar looked nervous. It was obvious that she didn't want to kill him. She clenched her fists and Zach shot a glance at her. She looked up at him and shook her head. He nodded his head in defiance. He was telling her she didn't have a choice. She nodded and looked down again.

I was really happy, but also kind of upset about Zach. He's going to get them back for us, and I can never thank him enough.

I gulped as we headed outside. I can't believe we're getting them back. It's bitter sweet though. I can't believe Zach is willing to do this.

I watched the clock turn to 11:59 and I bit my lip. I don't want to watch this, but I felt compelled to.

Everyone was gathered in the backyard. We were huddled together. It was freezing.

"You don't have to do this," Skylar mumbled to Zach. Her hands were shaking and tears rolled down her cheeks.

He pulled her into a tight hug. "Yes, I do, and you know it."

"You ready?" She stuttered.

He nodded as she placed her hands on the sides of his head and closed her eyes.

Almost at once, you could hear a faint whimper from Zach. He held Skylar's wrists in a desperate attempt to pry them off of his head. She wouldn't let go as his whimpering intensified. Soon, it was a loud shriek, then his body went limp. "I'm sorry," Skylar muttered.

"Now we wait." Brennan mumbled with a tear stained face.

I nodded and looked down. Guilt washed over me. He did it to help all the benders, but he did it for us. Me, Erika, Las, Ruby. Us.

------12:30 am------

"He should be done by now. They should be back." Skylar informed.

"Can we check?" Erika asked.

"Yeah, we can." She gave a sad smile.

We climbed upstairs and stood outside of the door. I bit my lip in anticipation.

Skylar turned the handle and opened the door. I closed my eyes, and walked in, not knowing what to expect.

I felt arms snake around me. "I missed you," A voice mumbled. Nit just any voice.

I opened my eyes and turned around. "Dad."
