Y/N P.O.V

My eyes widened. "Why did you have to bring him into this?!" I cried out. "Because he is the one that means the most to us. You did well against our dead loved ones, but this is the one you fight to protect," their voice echoed out.

A scene slowly made itself out in front of me. Zeldris stood in the middle of a battle. Princess Margret/Ludociel, Escanor, Merlin, Gilthunder, and Howser were his enemies. Chandler and Cusack were suspended in the walls.

"This ends now!" Zeldris's voice echoed when suddenly the view in front of me changed again. Meliodas gripped Zeldris tightly, holding him in place as he whispered to him.

"You should know that Gelda is alive. When she awoke, she was prepared to take her life twelve years ago. So I did what I thought best and sealed her away. Y/N's curse can also be broken," Meliodas smirked slightly.

"All we have to do is remove the Demon blood that runs through her veins. Although, it is only a ritual that can only be done of someone with the power level of the Demon King or Grand Deity. Help me become the Demon King, and I'll lift her curse,"

My eyes widened. "Gelda's alive....?!" I muttered in utter shock. Slowly, the scene returned to the battle.

Zeldris battled furiously. All of them were being drawn in by Zel's power. He unleashed an attack. Merlin couldn't teleport fast enough and the attack would have succeeded if it wasn't for Escanor.

I gasped. "Escanor!" I called out. Suddenly I remembered, this was a test to prove my worth....I have to keep my feelings in check.

Escanor was firious when he saw that Merlin's shoulder had been cut and flew towards Zeldris in a fury. The ceiling began to crumble and fell to the ground with a thud.

Ludociel went in for the attack. At the last second, Gilthunder was brought in by Dark Nebula and braced Ludociel's attack.

Escanor began to summon his strength and took each step towards Zeldris with confidence. The ground under Estarossa burned with every step, leaving lava where rock once was.

Escanor raised his hand and allowed his magical power to gather. Flames danced around Escanor as his power grew.

Escanor brought his axe down, but Zeldris was able to repel it. Everyone gasped as Escanor threw his axe off to the side. My eyes widened in realization.

"Divine Sword Escanor!" Escanor turned his hand into a blade by coating it with flames and crashed against Dark Nebula.

"This is a war between the Demon Clan and Goddess Clan. Why do you interfer?!" Zeldris cried out.

"Everything I do...is for a friend." Escanor stated simply. "IMPOSSIBLE!? How could you consider that cold blooded Meliodas A FRIEND?! I DOUBT HE THINKS THE SAME OF YOU!"

As Zeldris finished, Escanor's power grew, breaking through Dark Nebula, giving Zeldris no option but to use his sword.

Escanor broke through, Zeldris immediately jumping away.

"Divine Spear Escanor!"

...It paused...

"And this is the real test. Pick a side. Who do you protect?" It's voice echoed in my ears.

Cusack appeared behind Escaor with a sword in hand, ready to strike.

"Protecting Zeldris would result in a downfall for the Seven Deadly Sins, allowing Meliodas to become the Demon King. Not to mention that you would loose their trust,"

"However, picking to protect Escanor would hurt Zeldris emotionally and physically. You'd save Meliodas, but Zeldris would become the Demon King,"

I thought about it carefully before coming up with a decision.

"I know what I'll do!" I proclaimed.

"Who's side did you pick?" It asked. I smiled and chuckled. "You'll see!" I giggled.

"Very well. I'm sending you back into the real world now. Don't be an idiot," they sighed.

"This decision...will tell me whether or not you are worthy,"

........

I found myself teleported into the very room. I flew in front of Zeldris just before he jumped back. I pushed him out of the way with a smile.

Escanor was too filled with rage to see the change, but his attack was already in motion.

"Divine Spear Escanor!"

I jumped back in a second and created a barrier behind Escanor. I used the barrier to push Cusack away.

Just after that, the attack hit my abdomen.

"I thought I told you to not be an idiot!"

The voice echoed, but I paid no attention. My back hit the ground harshly, paralyzing me. I let out a cry of pain.

Blood trickled down my mouth. Its metallic taste was awful. I heard footsteps rush towards me. "Idiot!" I tried to laugh, but it came out as a cough.

Zeldris crouched next to me and cradled me in his arms. "Why are you here?!" He shouted.

"To save you and Escanor, Zel. I couldn't let one of you get hurt. Besides, neither of you deserve to get hurt. You both are doing the same thing.....protecting the ones you love," I smiled through the pain.

In the corner of my eye, I saw Ludociel approaching with an attack charged and ready. "Zel-! Look out-!" I cried out. I hugged him tightly, using my body to shield him.

I closed my eyes and awaited the pain, but none came. I opened my eyes slowly and looked behind us to see Cusack blocking the attack.

"Please Master Zeldris, Lady Y/N, leave the rest of this battle to me," Cusack requested. "Very well. You must prevent them from interfering with Meliodas. And don't hold back against them! Show them what you're made of! How the highest ranking demons powers even surpass mine!"

"Certainly. However, please do not forget that I am your mentor and that one day you WILL surpass me," Cusack spoke before Ludociel restarted the fight.

"If you really do wish for my power- then I will give it to you. You've shown me that you can surpass your emotions quite well. Earlier, you would've killed Escanor for even threatening to hurt Zeldris,"

"I do." I communicated back telepathically.

"I'll ask once more, are you sure? If I transfer my magical power to you, all of your capabilities as a goddess will dissapear. Your magic power will be that of a demons and you will no longer be able to heal others,"

"It will bring your curse to its final phase. You'll only have so long to live. The process.....is excruciating as well...."

I nodded simply. Zeldris gave me a confused look.

I grit my teeth and held my head as a sharp pain went through it. My neck felt hot and my breathing quickened.  It felt like it was on fire.

"Y/N!" Zeldris exclaimed, he gripped my shoulders tightly. His eyes widened. "Calm down! Please!" He pleaded. "You promised me!"

I could feel the Demon markings crawling up my skin slowly. It reached my forehead and swirled to a stop. My left eye cried tears of blood as it turned to a deep black and violet gradient.

Suddenly, the pain stopped. My vision went blurry and I began to cough, black blood spilling on my hands once more.

"Please! Please hang in there! We still have time! Once Meliodas becomes the Demon King you'll be okay!" Zeldris spoke quickly, as if trying to reassure himself.

I smiled softly, allowing my body to fall limp in Zeldris's arms. "Sorry....Zel..dris," I mumbled. He held my body in his arms tightly. "I chose to do this.....I'm no good to anyone if I'm not in control of my emotions....at least...this way....I can protect both you and Meliodas. I promise....we'll save Gelda...together...."

My voice drifted off and my eyes slowly began to close. Zeldris looked at me with utter fear in his eyes. "Please....live long enough for me to save you...."

Heyooo!!!! I'm backkk (it's only been like two hours since the last chapter, but whatever😅)

I decided to expirament this chapter and put the openings and endings at the beginning and end. What do y'all think- should I keep doing it? I was hoping it would make it feel more like an actual episode

Oh! Do you guys have any theories at all? Let's just say....there is quite a bit of foreshadowing all throughout the book.....
