Kenny and Dolly were sitting inside their doctor's office, which was a little crowded with little children either getting checkups or a couple of soon-to-be mommy's eagerly awaiting for their appointment.

"Now, I'm scared." Dolly admitted as she was so calm at home.

"There's nothin' to worry about baby."

"What if something is wrong with me?"

"There's nothing wrong with you."

"What is taking our doctor so long?" Dolly asked as she checked her watch while holding Kenny's hand as her leg bounced up and down.

"Be patient baby."

"My stomach is doing somersaults."

"We'll find out something soon baby doll."

...

Sitting and waiting for the longest time had Dolly's nerves on edge.

"I'm not usually this impatient, but what is takin' them so long?"

"I know. We've been here for awhile."

"This is the longest I have ever had to wait. I did not even have to wait this long to have my breast implants." Dolly said as a couple looked at them.

"Honey, maybe you should calm down."

"I'm just sayin'."

"Well, we're in a quiet room and everyone can hear you."

"If someone does not come soon, everybody will hear me."

"Sorry y'all. She's not like this all the time." Kenny said to the couple sitting in front of them.

"It's quite alright." The woman said

They finally got called back into the examination room as Dolly laid down on the table with a gown on. She and Kenny explained to their doctor of what was going on as she told Dolly to lay back.

"What exactly are you going to do down there?" Dolly asked her doctor.

"Well, first I'm going to do a vaginal examination and then, a blood test to see if there is something."

"What do you think is wrong doc?" Kenny asked her as she washed her hands and put on fresh gloves.

"We'll see when the blood test comes back."

"And the vaginal exam?"

"To see if this will tell me before or after the blood test."

"I hate needles." Dolly panicked.

"It'll be okay. You have me and your husband right here beside of you."

"Do we have to have that done?"

"Would you like to take a urine sample for me instead?"

"No."

"It's okay Dolly, you're in good hands."

"Okay doctor. Just don't let me look at the blood going in the vile tube."

"I think your husband will take good care of you dear."

Dolly smiled and was nervous but she trusted her doctor as she got to work. First, the vaginal examination.

"Dolly, you're going to feel a bit of pressure, so just breathe and relax for me.'' Her doctor said as she got to work.

She applied some pressure to her abdomen and her opening as Dolly held Kenny's hand.

"Anything?"

"You said you've felt bloated and it feels that way right here in your lower abdomen.

"I've also noticed a bump appears as well. Is that normal?"

"In one scenario, yes.''

"And that scenario being?" Kenny asked her.

"When was the last time y'all were intimate?"

"A couple of days ago. Why?"

"Do you use condoms or birth control?"

"Yes, well not here recently."

"I know it says here in your chart that you primary physician took you off your birth control."

"We decided we wanted to try and get pregnant."

"You still can. Some women can't get pregnant after age thirty five, but you're in great health and I don't see why not."

"What if I already am?"

"Well, that's what the blood and urine sample tests are for. We send it straight to the lab real quick and we can easily find out if you're pregnant." Her doctor said as Dolly beamed.

"That would be great!'' Kenny and Dolly both said.

"Alright, well let me go get the vile and needle." Her doctor said as she walked out the room.

"Now, I'm scared." Dolly said as she really did not want a needle stuck in her arm.

"I got you babe. Here, squeeze my hand." Kenny said as the doctor walked back in as Dolly looked away.

"Alright, hold your arm out for me." She said as Dolly did as she was asked as the doctor swabbed her upper arm with an alcohol pad.

"What is she doing?" Dolly asked him.

"I'm swabbing your arm."

"How long is the needle?" Dolly asked as she panicked.

"It's little. They call it a butterfly needle."

"She loves butterflies, but she hates doctors and needles."

"Great thing to say when our doctor has a needle close to my veins."

"Everyone hates to go to the doctor, even me."

"Just get it over with, please?" Dolly asked as her doctor put the needle where it usually goes as Kenny talked her through the pain.

"Ow! That was painful." Dolly said as the doctor put a band-aid over the mark.

"You did great!"

"Now, my arm hurts."

"When y'all get home, lie down and rest."

After a few moments of fate, Kenny and Dolly were discussing the main topic of the day: dinner as their doctor walked in with the results.

"What does it say?" Dolly asked as Kenny held her close as he held her hand and rubbed her back.

Her doctor opened the yellow envelope that had just been sent back from the lab as she smiled at them.

"Is it good news or bad?" Kenny asked

"It's great news! Get ready mommy and daddy."

"I'm... Pregnant?" Dolly asked as she meant to be more excited but was shocked at the news.

"Yes ma'am."

"Oh my goodness! I'm gonna be a mommy!" Dolly said excited.

"Congratulations!"

"Thank you!" They both said as she left the room as Dolly started crying happy tears as she embraced him.

"Can you believe it?"

"I can, but the feeling I have is like no other.''

"I know and I can't wait to be our little one's father." Kenny said as he kissed his wife's cheek.

"I can't wait to be their mama!" Dolly smiled as she touched her stomach.

"Ya know? This is our little miracle of love." Kenny said as he held his hands on her little already formed baby bump.

"I love that!"

"What do you say we just go home and rest for awhile?"

"I love that idea, my sweet music man."

"I do too, because I want what's best for my lady and my pumpkin."

"Well, let's go then." Dolly said as they walked to the receptionist window and got their next appointment card and left.

...

That night, they ate dinner and laid in their bed after the showered and did their nightly routine.

"Do you want a boy or a girl?"

"Part of me wants both, but I will love him or her no matter what.''

"What if named our son Kenny Jr.?"

"It'll be fine and we'll talk about baby names as we get further along, but for right now, I'm exhausted."

"Come here baby doll." Kenny said as Dolly scrooched up to him as they laid their hands on her stomach.

"I love you."

"I love you too baby doll."

"Goodnight baby."

"Goodnight to both of my babies." Kenny said as he kissed her lips and her head as they drifted off to sleep.
