Chapter Ten
George, Crowley, Horace, Cassandra, and King Duncan
The sun was beginning to set, casting a orange glow on Castle Araluen when George picked up a letter from that had been sent from Baron Arald of Redmont. Opening the envelop, he took out the letter and read it.
Almost two weeks ago Ranger Will Treaty of Redmont was declared missing when he hadn't returned from the mission he was sent on. Ranger Halt has come back from searching in his last known location and only found the battle ground where he took his final fight.
No body was found.

George felt...nothing. He couldn't, no wouldn't believe it. Will was gone? There must have been some mistake, he couldn't be dead, he's...Will. He suddenly felt all the color leave is face as he shakily got up and walked out of the scribe office.
He didn't even know where he was going until he found himself at the door to Crowley's office. Reaching up he was about to knock when he heard the Commandets voice. "You can come in." Opening the door in a daze, George walked in and stood before the Commandet who was surrounded by piles of reports and scrolls of parchment.
He stood there, not making a sound, still holding the letter. Finally Crowley looked up from his work and looked at him in concern. "Is something wrong George?" Finally snapping out of it, He slowly extended his arm and handed Crowley the letter.
Taking it, Crowley gave one last look at George, then read the letter, his face went ashen and gray by the time he finished it. Standing up, he folded the letter and walked to the door. Before he left, he turned back to George, "Take the rest of the evening off, I'll notify the King." George merely nodded as Crowley left and went up the stairs to the Royal apartments.
Reaching the rooms, Crowley knocked and the door was opened by Horace. "Crowley, this is unexpected." Horace said when he let him in. King Duncan and Cassandra were sitting in the chairs by the fireplace, Maddie was playing with some wooden blocks on the floor between them.
"What's the matter Crowley?" Cassandra asked when she saw his still ashen face. Crowley didn't answer until he had handed Duncan the letter. "This came to my attention a few minuets ago..." He didn't know how to tell them, Duncan knew now that he had read the paper, So he told them the truth.
"Will's dead."
