Personality: Enigma is withdrawn and reserved in general, and he doesn't tend to favour interaction or contact, unless he's the one initiating it. He is highly intelligent, analytical, logical, observant and perceptive, which compromises for his lacking in physical brawn, strength, and stamina. Usually he may be deemed an outcast, and he rarely conforms to the general, public opinion. He prefers to be individual, and aspires to be independent, out of everyone's control. Though coded, during creation, to feel only negative emotions, such as anger, hatred, and loathing, Enigma is able to recognise, learn, and then convey positive emotions. He yearns to learn the subjects he doesn't know, and he's flooded with curiosity. If you manage to win his favour, Enigma proves to be a faithful, loyal, and protective friend
Backstory: He was artificially engineered by Doctor Robotnik, under the name of project Enigma. The name Enigma was created, because Enigma's powers were originally unknown. Robotnik, wishing to create something truly wondrous, asked his minions to think of one power each. They obliged, and Robotnik chose the three he liked best: flight, telekinesis, and the ability to use oneself as a weapon. When creating Enigma, Robotnik engineered two tails for the black fox, which would enable him to master flight, and he coded the artificial being as able to manipulate the art of telekinesis. For the weapon idea, Robotnik decided that Enigma would have the ability to cast out fragments of his life force, and that they could pierce other creatures. With Enigma's life force within a stranger, Enigma would be able to control that stranger's life force externally, and torture them, or kill them. Robotnik loved the ominous sounding ability, so he incorporated it. To prevent Enigma's life source from draining, Robotnik made it able for Enigma to also steal another living being's life force, and use it as his own. Whilst Enigma was in creation, Robotnik also gave the black fox two hearts and two circulatory systems, merely out of morbid curiosity, he limited the emotions Enigma would be able to feel upon being created, and he enhanced Enigma's senses. Enigma was then created, and he was first within Robotnik's control, acting as a slave for the doctor. However, as the months passed, Enigma finally became dissatisfied, and he yearned to escape Robotnik's control. Time wore on, and one of Robotnik's sentient robots grew increasingly envious of Robotnik's favour towards Enigma, so that robot managed to electrocute the black fox until he was unconscious. Then, the robot cast Enigma from the laboratory building, and Enigma was lost to Robotnik, for Robotnik died shortly after.
The unconscious black fox was found by Eggman, who saw the opportunity to manipulate Enigma, and use his powers to finally kill Sonic. However, Enigma totally refused the offer of partnership, and is now living alone, in a life of solitude. He is acquainted with the Sonic team, but considers Sonic to be insufferably arrogant
