Maybe It's Not So Bad

Tango's Perspective-

Every once and a while, we'll have something big happen in our lives that takes up our mind.

The one that keeps us up at night, for better or for worse.

For me, that was the decision I had just made earlier today.

-

Tango sat on the bathroom floor as he stared into the empty bathtub.

It was currently one in the morning, and he still wasn't able to sleep. He went to the bathroom just in case his stomach was trying to get him to do his business, but he instead laid on the floor and stared up at a different ceiling (one with a bit more mold on it compared to his room).

"We'll still be friends, I promise." Tango sighed as he heard his own voice ring through his head.

He covered his face with his arm, not wanting to look at the annoying bright light any longer.

I may have kept the promise, but what if I went too far? Tango sighed, remembering how Jimmy's lips felt on his. He subconsciously licked his dried lips, and he sat up.

No, he wouldn't've been the one to kiss me if he didn't like me. ...Wait, how long has he liked me? Tango stood up and he bonked his head against the part of the granite counter that was poking out.

"oW- " Tango put his fist in his mouth to stop himself from screaming out in pain.

"Cod dammit." He sighed, rubbing his head.

-

Tango shut his locker after his first class, and he saw Skizz, who chuckled a bit.

"Hey there sleeping beauty." Skizz teased.

Tango rolled his eyes. "I don't wanna hear it today."

Skizz shrugged and offered Tango a sip from his coffee. Tango took the offer and lifted the lid so he wouldn't get his germs on Skizz's straw.

"Thanks." Tango said, licking the whipped cream off his top lip.

Skizz nodded, sipping from the straw. "Did something keep you up last night?"

Tango shrugged and Skizz smirked.

"I guess I should say someone. Don't tell me you stayed up on your phone calling your little not boyfriend boyfriend."

"Shut up, and we weren't calling."

"Oh really? Something happen?" Skizz raised an eyebrow, following the freshie as they made their way through the halls to second period.

"No, we just weren't on call." Tango shrugged again and Skizz snorted.

"Yeah okay, spit it out. It's obvious you're avoiding telling me something."

Tango sighed.

"Fine, fine. I...I told him what you told me to say."

"And?" Skizz egged on, obviously interested.

"And...he kissed me."

Skizz coughed on his coffee.

"What?! Jeez I didn't know my advice was good enough to get a kiss! I thought at least a date first."

Tango chuckled and rolled his eyes. "Shut up, man."

Skizz grinned and the two fist bumped before heading off to class. Tango sat down in history and looked up as he saw Jimmy enter.

"J-Jimmy! Hey." Tango smiled a bit and Jimmy smiled back, both equally as red in the face.

Jimmy sat down next to him and took out his pencil bag, his hand touching Tango's. Tango blushed heavily and he looked away.

"S-sorry." He smiled nervously, rubbing the back of his neck.

"I-it's okay." Jimmy smiled hesitantly and continued to take out his notebook and pens.

Tango watched intently, realizing he was staring and looking down at his book.

He shut his hands into fists, and he took a deep breath, closing his eyes.

"You okay?" Jimmy asked.

Tango looked up and saw Jimmy's concerned expression. Tango blushed and he nodded quickly.

"Mhm! Yeah sorry, I'm just um..." Tango relaxed his grip on his knees, and he sighed. "I'm nervous, to be honest."

"Nervous about what?"

"About...well...this." Tango mumbled a bit, and Jimmy's eyes widened.

"I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried too." Jimmy said quietly.

Tango smiled softly and Jimmy returned the gesture.

"Do you...wanna try it?" Tango asked slowly, tilting his head.

"Try...us?"

"Y-yeah..."

"If you're okay with it." Jimmy smiled.

"I wouldn't recommend it if I wasn't." Tango chuckled a bit, his nerves fading.

"Sure then." Jimmy nodded. "I would like to."

Tango felt his face turn red, but in a more relaxed way now.

"Great! Wanna try going out this weekend?"

Jimmy blushed and he looked down at the desk.

"That'd be nice."
