 ~Room 1C3~

I opened the door and Aburee was sitting on her bed. She turned and smiled at me. "Well well. If it isn't Miss. Hungrass. The damned wøman whø støle my best man."

How did she know my name...? Wait, best man? What did she mean by best man? I closed the door behind me and leaned against the cool metal. "Your best man? Do you mean Luke? If so I don't think I understand."

Aburee let out a soft chuckle and once again met my gaze, "Øh Jane... Yøu really knøw nøthing abøut yøur cases, dø yøu?"

I have had quite a few troublesome patients but never this bad from the start. Aburee wasn't going to be easy to talk to and if I had known what the next month would have in store for me, I would have walked out right then and there.

I walked over to her and took a long look at her. She had cherry red hair and eyes the colour of grass in the summer. She looked to be reasonably tall, very skinny and was dressed in a purple tank top, skinny jeans and combat boots. I would think she was a normal kid if it weren't for the black tint around her eyes and her sharp, almost dagger like teeth. As I looked over her, she sat perfectly still with a smirk plastered on her face. After a few moments, I spoke again, "I know you may not like me but the SCP put me in charge of you and your well-being so we might as well find out more about each other. I want to do this as much as you do but this is just how it's going to have to be."

She sat back against the wall and folded her arms, "Fine. I'll try my best to answer any questions but I will have limits." Moments before I would have thought I was sitting in front of an elder but as she sat back I remembered, she really is just a kid. I knew I would have to watch what I say and it would take Toby to gain her trust but I knew I could do it. I was about to ask how she was caught when my phone buzzed once again.

From; Toby— Hey Jane, your brother just stopped by and asked where you were. I told him what room you were in and he should be heading down to you. How's Aburee?

My heart stopped when I got the text, my brother was off at college in the UK and was stuck taking mid-terms all month. There was a random man coming down to the high security ward and I didn't know what to do. I turned to Aburee but she could sense my fear, "Dø nøt wørry. I will nøt let anything happen. I actually think I knøw whø it is." Seconds after she finished speaking there was a knock on the door. I held my breath as I approached the door and looked out. It was a tall man with dark hair and he wore a navy suit with a deep purple tie. I chuckled at myself as I opened the door, "Don't do that to me Alex! I almost had a heart attack."

Alex was my SCP team leader and a fellow lawyer. We had worked together on every case since I started working for the SCP foundation and he started working at my family's firm after we lost the Ross part of our firm. It should be called Hungrass and Baldwin since Alex and I are the remaining lawyers. My father was the head but he finally retired, leaving me the firm.

He smiled and stepped into the room. I closed the door behind him as he walked over to Aburee and held his hand out. "Nice to see you again Miss Harthen." She smiled and shook his hand, "Likewise Mr Baldwin." They knew each other and I was confused beyond belief.

"How do you two-" I was cut off by Aburee, "He was my lawyer for my sentencing yesterday. That is how we know one another." I nodded and sat on the tiled floor. Why didn't Alex tell me about her and why didn't he tell me he would be coming down? We were supposed to be partners but at the moment, I felt like a mutt, trying to fit in with the rest of the litter. The two continued talking about yesterday's hearing as I sat on the floor going through the evidence. Aburee was found along with other P.E.T.members.

PET stands for the Proxy Evaluation Team which is a group of proxys who are set to find other proxys. The SCP hunts the PET because of the member's special abilities. Whether it be strength, speed or even immortality, the SCP always saw them as a threat and they 'must be extracted and dealt with under supervision'.

The SCP contains not only humans but also objects. Each object/ person is given a class. Safe, Euclid or Keter. A safe object would be SCP-494, a pair of black fingerless gloves that when holding any two objects, the makeup of the items will be switched. A Euclid object would be SCP-049, a 15th century Europe plague doctor who tends to 'cure patients' by killing them and then injecting them with a serum only to make the dead living. Now Keter... They are the most dangerous objects to come in contact with. The objects are anomalies that pose an inimical threat to the safety of Foundation personnel and the rest of mankind and either require extensive and complex procedures to contain or cannot be fully contained by the Foundation's current technology and knowledge.

While going through Aburee's file again, I noticed something that I had missed the first time. A newspaper article on her arrest and the names of the other members that were found the same night. Ben Drower, Tim Sutton, Aburee Harthen, Jack Laurer, Sally Williams, Jeffrey Carters and... That's when I made the connection. I jumped up and shouted, "That's it! Jeffrey!"Alex looked at me like I had just fell out of the sky and Aburee had a smirk plastered on her face."Sø yøu've finally caught øn Miss Hungrass. That is why I called yøu øut when we first met. Yøu see, Jeffrey was my new prøxy in training. I was wandering the førest surrøunding the Carters høme when I heard sirens. I følløwed the søund when he ran intø me." Aburee leaned against the wall behind her.

Alex looked from her to me and then back at her before speaking, "Miss Harthen, Why didn't you tell me this before?"

"Like I said beføre, yøu støle my best man, and I am nøt at all happy with that. And beføre yøu ask, yes I was arøund the Carter's but ønly because the base før us prøxys is løcated in the Løwell førest. Nø I will nøt give any indicatiøn tø where it is løcated." She brought her gaze to her hands as she started to pick at a hangnail. Alex chuckled, "Well we now know it's in the Lowell forest."

Aburee shot a glare at Alex as she snapped back. "Yøu think we are dumb enøugh tø have øur base øut in the øpen? Need I remind yøu abøut what I'm capable of døing?" She stood up, she looked taller and her eyes were tinted with a red glare.

At this point I was so confused and lost that none of this fazed me but I noticed Alex holding his hand above his waist, his gun ready. Then it hit me. In her files. There were reports of her having strange... abilities, but never would I have expected them to be trueful. Aburee was furious at this point. The room seemed to be twisting and a high frequency static noise was ringing in my ears. My thoughts were blurring together. As soon as this started it all stopped.

Alex was sitting on the ground, his gun somehow on the desk next to me, Aburee was standing over him, a demonic grin plastered to her face. Her eyes were back to the normal green and she looked like she did when I first met her. I could now see why the foundation was so interested in her. She was far more different than all the others I had come in contact with. She had a more paranormal vibe to her. Teleportation? Reeducation? We have only had one other object with the same powers but we do not speak of him. He had escaped the foundation during the last breach back in May of 2013.

I slowly grabbed the 92FS pistol off the desk and pointed it at Aburee, "Step away from Alex and I will help you to the best of my ability." I took a deep breath, ready to shoot if necessary. I had no idea what I was doing and what she did next scared me more than anything.

She looked over at me and by the time I blinked once, she was standing in front of me. My breathing got laboured and she smiled down at me, "Help? What døes that mean? Høw are yøu suppøsed tø dø that?" She grabbed the chair from the desk and sat down in it.

I lowered the gun but kept it at hand. I didn't think this would work so I didn't know how to respond. "Well... You don't seem to be guilty, I could help clear your na-" She quickly cut me off with a high pitched laugh.

"Why Miss Hungrass, yøu have nø idea whø I am and what I am capable øf, nøw dø yøu?" She grinned maniacally and I rose the gun up, shaking. She rolled her eyes and kicked her feet up on the desk. "Yes I am a prøxy but I am sø much møre. Yøu møst likely knøw my father. He is the head øf all prøxy øperatiøns."

I must have had my mouth open in shock because she looked at me and giggled. I knew she had some connection to him but his daughter? I didn't know that was physically possible. And also she would have to be four thousand years old at least. The young girl sitting in front of me couldn't be over twenty. My mind was racing and if it wasn't for Alex's loud groan of pain, I would've been lost in my mind. I stood up and ran to his side, resting my hand on his shoulder, "Alex? Can you hear me? Are you alright?" I was then met by his face in my own.

"I'm alright. I didn't know you cared so much." He smiled, adjusting his glasses.

"You jerk!" I yelled, shoving him. We had a very different relationship. He was my best friend and everyone we met always asked if we were dating. He was only a year older but I was normally the more mature one. Aburee sat there chuckling at us, watching our every movement. I turned to look at her but then my phone buzzed.

From: Patient 2863— Hello Jane, It's Luke. Are you in the building? If so... We need to talk. It's about Jeff.—

My heart skipped a beat as I read the last sentence. If Jeff was in contact with Luke, I needed to know. Alex noticed the worried look on my face as I ran out the door. I ran to the front desk and Toby was nowhere to be seen, an older woman in his place. I was in mid jump over the desk when I noticed and fell to the floor instead of landing on my feet. The woman looked at me scared as I looked up at her, "Nice weather we're having." I grabbed my gun and keys and sprinted to the elevators.
