1. A powerful warrior, cursed to consume the souls of others, falls in love with a healer who has the ability to restore life.

2. An archaeologist uncovers the tomb of a long-forgotten Egyptian god, and through an ancient ritual, unwittingly awakens him. The god, whose name has been erased from history, is bound by a curse that prevents him from leaving.

3. A skilled hunter, chosen by Tezcatlipoca (the Jaguar God) to lead his people into an age of prosperity, falls in love with the high priestess of the moon, whose celestial duties forbid her from ever walking among the mortal world.

4. In the Andes, an explorer searching for the lost city of the Incas uncovers an ancient myth: a curse placed on the city by the Moon Goddess.

5. In the heart of the Incan Empire, a young historian uncovers a relic belonging to Inti, the Sun God. The relic is believed to hold the power to illuminate the truth behind an ancient betrayal that led to the fall of the first Inca rulers.

6. A remote African village is cursed by a powerful witch doctor who, on his deathbed, casts a final spell of revenge. The village is slowly consumed by shadows, and the living begin to disappear, their bodies never found.

7. In the 1800s, a group of Native Americans become stranded during a harsh winter. When one of them goes missing, strange events begin to unfold—animal tracks leading to their cabin, whispers in the wind, and eerie shadows at the edge of the forest. As hunger sets in, they realize the legend of the Wendigo is true. They must find a way to escape before the Wendigo claims them all.

8. In a small Central American village, people start disappearing, and a young journalist begins investigating. His search leads him to an old man who speaks of Quetzalcoatl, the feathered serpent god, and a hidden temple beneath the jungle.

The contest runs from January 1, 2025 to April 30, 2025. Any submissions received after 11:59 PM EST on April 30, 2025 will be disqualified and ineligible for judging.

Your story must feature a myth, legend, or folktale. Werewolf and vampire fiction is not accepted unless it is directly tied to a cultural myth.

The word count limit is no more than 10,000 words, excluding author notes, playlists, aesthetics/moodboards, and anything else non-literary. Prologues, epilogues, and bonus chapters will count towards the word count minimum.

The story must be newly written, meaning we are not accepting republished or rewritten content. If it is part of a series, it must be read as a standalone (i.e., we don't need to read other books in the series in order to understand your story).

Entries must be written in English.

You can join all four games, but you can only win once.

Mature content is accepted, but it must follow Wattpad Content Guidelines.
