Chapter 2
Moray flew through sky.
Okay, she never admitted that she never wanted to be on this journey across the word. Especially in the Age of the Scavengers. But she really missed her fathers, she really did. Moray always hoped that humming to herself would help her with her sadness, most of the time it really worked well.
This time, it was working too. She tried her best to keep quiet because her friends were nearby, but she still couldn't keep it to herself. She was humming the song her fathers sang to her when she was one year old, it had a lovely melody and not the mention it described the world she lived in perfectly.
All these questions, that we always have... Moray hummed, almost singing out loud.
NO! Moray, hold yourself together for crying out loud! She shouted at herself subconsciously, secretly smacking herself in the head, hoping no one saw her.
"Moray, you don't have to smack yourself. I've always known you liked to hum and sometimes sing." Anemobee suddenly expressed the one thing Moray didn't want anyone to know.
"Moray can sing?!" Reef exclaimed, flapping her wings as she got closer to the duo. "NO NO NO NO NO! I can't sing!" Moray replied, shouting. "She can hum, too?" Snowblast asked, flying above Moray and the the other two females.
"Guys, please. I don't like anyone finding out about it." Moray sighed, covering her ears. When she did so, she felt the ruby earring she had on, the one her father made with his own claws.
"Moray, we won't tell anyone else." Anemobee said, then held up her front left claw and added in, "Promise."
Moray thought for a second, if she did sing or hum, her friends might like it. But, what if they told someone else.
Moray, how could you! Trust them, they've known you for almost your whole life! Moray scolded herself internally.
Moray took a deep breath, letting her decision sink into her heart, she needs to trust them.
Take a look around and see the world we think we know.
Moray sang, closing her eyes, remembering her young days with her fathers. Her flying lessons, her herbal lessons and most importantly, her trust lessons. Boy, she really missed them.
Then. Look. Closer.
Anemobee was grateful that Moray chose to sing, but, maybe she needed someone who will have her back.
There's more to life than meets the eye and beauty to behold.
It's all. Much. Bigger than we know.
Anemobee glided up above Moray, flipping herself upside down and held her talon down for Moray to take. Moray smiles and she took it.
It was like this when she just learned to fly, AnemoBee above her with her talons out to keep Moray's balance, just in case.
And it's only just beginning to unfold.
So let it all unfold.
Moray sang, landing herself onto a tree on an isolated island. Looking up her friends, smiling back at her, Moray let out a toothy smile and she leapt off the tree and into the sky.
Far beyond all reasons in your mind!
There's a world mysterious, there for you to find!
All these questions that we always have!
All we are is curious, there's nothing wrong with that!
Moray flew down to the sea, dragging her talon across the aqua blue waves and lifting herself up, reaching for the sky.
So go around every corner!
Search every part of the sky!
Cause a life that's full of wonder...
Is a wonderful life!
With that, Moray lead her three friends into the sunset.
