A Traitor A Day (Part Two)

I wiped the hot falling tears from my eyes. This so can't be happening!!!

It can, it will, and it MUST go on, and you will be tortured. She's weak and you should kill her while you have the chance. Or, just regret it.

I held my sword in my hand... Was this right?... In all my life... Would I choose to slay?...

I stood my ground carefully making my way through the darkness staring at the spotlight where Pepper lay. Tired and injured.

As if I was possessed... Driven to kill. I felt a huge maniacal smile creep and start forming on my mouth. I was in front of her now.

I raised the sword high...

No...

I dropped it. I could feel the smile instantly fade away to a look of pure fear.

I... I can't kill her... I won't...

I felt a strong grip on me as if my possession was mutual and another smile form but my eyes strained in tears... My hand made its way to the sword handle...

No...

One swing...

No...

Is all it takes!...

NO!!!

Crimson colored blood spilled across the floor. The smile faded once again into a shed of tears.

Blood.

Red blood.

My blood.

My left hand had a clean cut. I hurt myself even more haven't I? I could feel more pain than just my hand. I didn't dare look where so far.

I dropped the sword again and smiled and cried at the same time. Unlike a sane person.

I was obviously phsycotic at this stage.

You fool!!!

A door creaked open. I looked behind me...

A sweep of cold air swept the room...

Someone was there...

I blinked. I felt the smile hide behind a questioned look...

Sam...

"Are you OK?" He asked me running up to me. Then, he hugged me... And kissed me on the cheek...

Does he... Actually care?... Care at all?...

"I know what happened. I'm glad that she's @#&@$$@#% alive but don't try that ever again!!!" He said.

I stared at him speechlessly. What was I to say anything? I'm just... Well... Speechless...

One minute... He breaks up with me. The next, he hugs me like his girlfriend, kisses me, and well... the next?... He scolds me like his daughter... What was going on?...

"Sam-"

"Look, just let me take care of her and bring her home k? You wanna come with or not?" He asked briskly.

"Sam I'd love too but-"

"Great, let's leave." He pulled my arm. And held Pepper's arm as well.

I could feel faint during the teleportation... I blacked out...

***

"They awake yet?..."

"No..."

"You sure?..."

"Wait... Heartbeat's... Stabilizing..."

"They'll live?..."

"Of course..."

I blinked... My senses were kicking into high gear... Like a robot kicking back from an emergency power source... My hearing stabilized and my eyes were adjusting to the bright light shone on me.

It was in short flickers and then

"Holy... Where am I now?... A torture center?..."

I tried to feel my head because I had a splitting headache and weird pains all over and stings. But my arms were cuffed and stuck to a table. And so were my feet. My head wasn't so I could see and move my head around. I saw Lacer holding a needle and a needle. The other needle was a syringe.

Definitely ready for a full-scale assault torture.

(Brings out chainsaw. Lol jk)

My backpack was far from reach in the far end if the room. There were scattered papers on a desk and on the floor.

I moved my head to the right again. Pepper was lying silently. She was shifting and flinching so she was probably alive... Maybe... Probably... I don't know what to think anymore!!!

"Morning sunshine." Sam said.

There wires and metals and tubes... I know where I am... Back to the boring old lab ain't I.

"You're gonna kill me?..." I asked. "Yeah... Go... I don't want to freaking live anymore. Just let me die."

"You're not gonna die Heat." Sam said gruffly. He must've had some mood swings. He's pretty grouchy now.

"You've gotten severe scars and scratches. It was... Four hours... Since Sam brought you here when you fainted..." He said.

"And Pepper." Sam said coldly.

"She's going to die?..." I asked.

"No. She needs rest. Like you." Sam scoffed.

Why was he so moody?! It really ticked me off.

I wanted to slap him one but he was so... Fragile... I'd be in more trouble than as is.

The needle...

"Stitches... What did you stitch up?..." I asked them.

Lacer looked at me unnervingly and Sam just stared coldly.

"Look. I can't show you a mirror until you settle down." Lacer said.

I sighed.

"It's no use. I'm not a girly-girl. So... Ok... It doesn't matter..."

"It does." Sam said. He got a mirror and practically shoved it in my face.

So much for I love you.

I got the message crossly and stared at my face. It had a stitch on the right and a large cottony bandage covering my left temple. But for some really stupid and very, very, VERY idiotic reason I had a small smile.

"Happy?... Why?..." Lacer asked gruffly taking the mirror from me.

"I'm just glad to be alive." I said. I felt a pain splitting me apart though. Tearing me on the inside but I had to bear with it.

I closed my eyes and tried to focus on the lock on my arms I felt as if a very heavy was just burden lifted off my shoulders. The locks came straight off.

"I would have put you in a tank again but I was afraid Pepper would protest if she woke up before you." Lacer mumbled. "I knew this would happen.

"I'm not killing anyone... I'm... Just going to catch a breath of fresh air." I said briskly.

I instantly unlocked my legs and rubbed my wrists. They were sore but I managed.

I opened the door and took a quick glance. Everyone is really leaving me and doing my head in.

I sighed... A stitch would bring up loads of attention. I pulled the leather hood of my hoodie up as to not attract much attention.

I walked the familiar path to the old waterworks...

I had the dancing memories in my head rather than making them.

I laughed a little. My friends all hate me. Even Scipes probably.

I could start screaming at people... I already do.

And one day if I'm waaay to out of league. Screaming at nonliving things is probably gonna happen soon enough.

I tried to continue smiling. Then, I felt a flash go on in my head.

Ok... Lacer stop messing with me. I haven't murdered anyone.

You will soon. Dorko.

Geez... Who keeps talking to me like this. I'm ding-dong-dingle-doofus tired of all this chiz.

I rubbed my wrist again and then... My hand... There was a large a lump... Another bandage or something probably.

I walked the long way back again with hands in my pockets. I didn't want to look like such a sight. Bandages, blood, stitches... And well... Yeah.

I opened Lacer's lab's door. And grabbed the old bandage from that old kit Marco gave me.

I smiled at the warm thought of medicine and tea. Had he watched the TV and seen the recording?...

I tried to distract myself by bandaging my hand and showed my fingers... All the way up to my elbow.

Yeah... He probably did.

I wondered... Sam said he got my number from Pep before... So why did he talk about all that chiz at the metal doorway?...

Only he would know wouldn't he?

I watched Lacer do tests on some blood types. Guess it could be mine and Pepper's. Wonder why... Eh, I hate science.

I heard a groan. A girly groan.

I walked up to Pepper's bedside.

"Why didn't you kill me?!" She shrieked grabbing me by the shoulders.

"The what-"

"Why didn't you just kill me or at least let me die???!!!"

"Pep stop shouting-" Sam started.

"I couldn't just let you die Pep!!!" I told her.

"What if I wanted to?!"

"So?... I don't want you to die!!!" I shrieked back. Then I pointed at Sam and Lacer. "They don't want you to die!!!"

She instantly froze and became silent.

"I'm... Sorry guys. I really am. Heat, this isn't your fault at all. It's mine. I don't know why I was so stupid to kill you or bring you to jail just to achieve my career." She said.

"It's ok-"

"No. I am a stupid idiot." She said.

"Pep... That ain't true at all." I tried to reassure her.

"No it is... Friends shouldn't do this would they?" She asked me. "You've shown me a lot of kindness lately. Even for a human."

"A half-human." I corrected her spinning the amulet around my finger.

"Right... Half." She said.

"So... We're ok?..." I asked her holding out my hand.

"I wouldn't have it any other way." She said happily giving me that everyday-happy-peppy smile.

"That's the Pepper I remember." I said.

I stared back at Lacer and Sam who were both staring at me.

I went towards Sam first. He teleported behind me. I tried going back he teleported infront of me.

"Ya'll hate me right?" I asked.

I gave a small smile.

"I'm sorry for the inconvenience. I'm... I've gotta go." I briskly grabbed my pack before anyone could stop me.

"Hey! Heat wait!-" Pepper called about to get out of bed.

I slammed the door.

I ran back to the front of the metal door. I was prepared.

I pulled my sword out of my bag.

Stupid. You're so stupid.

I held my sword and focused... It let off a glow without having to have any control over emotion. Heh, I'm getting heck a lot better now.

I raised it letting light shine on the walls. They were cold and bare. The spotlights were deactivated from last fight.

I walked for a really long time I don't know if this was all meant to be a trick.

Finally, I saw it. A light.

I ran forward hoping to get there before anythign else happens.

Hey idiot. Prepare die.

What the actual fresh heck.

I went through the blinding light.

I was in a red corridor. Everywhere you looked, blood red colors stained the whole corridor.

Geez... I don't like the looks of this. I kept my sword still at hand just in case.

Click. Clack.

My shoes echoed noisily as I walked. The windows which sulight shone through were bright pink stained glass which made the sun rays pink, Black and red tapestries hung on some of the red pedestals in the room, the floor was in red and black checkers, and a door way was on the other side of the corridor.

The sooner I get out the better.

I sprinted to the doorway when something blocked my path.

It was invisible but see through... And it also had a tint of dark blue.

I watched a mysterious figure slowly form in front of me. When it fully materialized I knew who it was.

(Guess?)

"Oh. Hey... I don't understand?... Umm... why are you blocking me off?" I asked him.

"Ask me to open the barrier and you will regret it." He told me coldy. His dark silhouette only revealed glowing eyes.

(Hint hint?)

I rolled my own.

"Heh. Stop joking around. I just wanna help you guys by getting to that... Stupid cave that doesn't let you guys out."

"You asked for it."

The wall disappeared. I brought only one foot forward when a colorful Aurora surrounded me. No way out.

(Did you guess already?!)

"So?... Wanna light show?" I asked him.

He moved his hand in a circular motion. The circle around me shrank. I pushed forward to try to break through.

"I'm sorry."

I blasted a light with the sword to counter the shrinking Aurora.

It vanished and he still was standing there.

Why?... Is just fighting Pepper unplanned already all my fault?... It didn't seem to click. It can't make any sense. No heads or tails of it.

I felt the pain return. My bandages were loosening. Hnngghhh... I don't have time to fix them yet.

I sent a blast without any real accuracy at him. He easily went out of the way.

He brought his hand up. I was in mid-air. I forgot he could freaking teleport and levitate.

He slammed me hard to the ground. The battle style seemed vaguely familiar...

A colorful ball of light appeared in his hand. He twisted his fingers around causing the ball to swirl a little.

And that's when it hit me... Tamsin... This is... A mix between her fighting style.

"So... You had a tutor?..." I said.

He immediately flinched and threw the ball at me.

I quickly blocked it out with a sword. The sparks that it left stung me a little. Ok... This probably wouldn't happen in a Tamsin fight.

I let out a few sword bolts to block it out like a shield.

He trapped me in a blue forcefield. Aurora's danced above my head.

The sweet happy memory I once knew... Was slowly flooding away...

I sat down cross-legged... I stared at the Auroras... Slowly closing in on me...

I felt the phsycotic smile return and clutch my sword.

"I am not going down without a fight!!!" I said. But I couldn't feel myself saying it. The voice that rang in my ears wasn't my own.

I couldn't control my body.

I watched as I saw myself swinging my sword breaking the Auroras.

The voice I talked in was vaguely familiar.

"I will, I can and I MUST GO ON!!!" I said. Then, I knew who I was.

I was that voice I always hear in my head.

I couldn't have any control over myself at all. As if something or someone had taken over me.

The barrier went down and Sam smiled happily.

"You're cute when you smile like that." He said.

"Thanks... I missed you bro." My voice said. "And second... No thanks... You used to cry when I smiled phsycotically all mom would do was slap me."

He laughed and smiled again.

"I missed you k?"

"Yeah me too sis. So... You finally got control over her body haven't you?" Sam said.

He snapped his fingers and instantly de-materealized... Taller... His skin color shifted... His hoodie changed into a suit... His hair changed. The auroras changed into knives.

I knew just who the heck this maniac was.

"So sis-"

"Call me by my real name Flaubert."

"Naw. Sis it isn't legal around here."

"Who said we followed rules?"

I tried to hold back the smile and run away but her grip on me was so strong.

I could feel the grip lessen and the smile fade slowly.

"Sis... Uh... I can see that she is trying to fight your grip."

"Heh... Aren't we all. Next time Flaubert." I felt the grip loosen completely. I could move by myself again.

"So Heat-"

"Don't call me that!!!" I instantly punched him in the face.

He staggered. But he still laughed. Blood was trickling down his nose.

"Until next time. See you later... you traitor." Flaubert said. Smoke surrounded him. He was gone.
