6. The Memory Of Those Gorgeous Blue Eyes
// Dean's POV
Dean walked around the familiar campus, looking for his dorm, trailing a suitcase behind him.
This was his third year in college and his dorm was switched.
It took him forever but he eventually found it.
Dean unlocked the door and opened it, stepping inside his new room.
There were already boxes piled up on one of the beds. He thought if his roommate was there first, he would've taken the bed Dean wanted but Dean's bed was fine where it was.
Dean pulled his suitcase into a corner of his side of the room and ran back outside to bring in some boxes.
He was carrying boxes from his baby and back to his dorm for about fifteen minutes and his roommate still hadn't shown up. All his things were there-- the bed was made-- but no one was there to unpack the rest of their things. Their bed was closest to the door and whenever Dean walked in, he would trip over another box.
At one point, he tripped over one of the boxes and dropped all of the things inside.
Dean quickly sat up and tried to put everything back in the box. But of course, he had to see what was inside the box to put it back.
Dean sorted through CD's and cassette tapes. There were even a few pages of sheet music and recorders.
Me Attempting To Sing I
Me Attempting To Sing II
There were multiple of these tapes and Dean was temped to listen to everyone of them but of course he wasn't going to cause that's rude.
Dean put everything back in the box and set it aside.
The sun was setting and still no roommate.
Dean headed back out towards his baby to retrieve his guitar.
As he was walking back to his dorm, he just played a few notes on his guitar, a few people stared at him but didn't mind.
"Dean!" He heard a familiar voice call. Dean turned around and faced his brother.
"Hey, Sammy. What's up?"
"You look nice today. And it's such a beautiful day, isn't it?" He asked, nervously.
Sam never acted like this unless he wanted something from Dean.
"What do you need this time?"
"I well-- I need new recruits for the team."
Sam was the captain of this group where all they did was sing covers of songs. They competed and stuff but Dean always just stayed far away from it.
"What? No." He stated before beginning to walk back to his dorm.
"Aw, come on! Please?!" Sam begged walking next to him. "You're an awesome singer and the rest of the team need someone to follow!"
"I said no."
"I wont use your car for two whole months."
Dean stopped walking and eyes his brother, raising an eyebrow.
"I wont go through your things, I wont use your car, and I'll even wash her for you." Sam suggested.
"Make it four months and you've got yourself a deal."
Sam smiled widely and clapped his hands.
"Great! Meet us in our practice room for your try outs!" He exclaimed before running off.
Dean groaned and walked back to his dorm, set his guitar down and headed towards the practice room.
+++++
"Sammy?" Dean called as he knocked on the door.
Someone else opened the door and let him in. Dean walked into the large room and looked around for his brother.
"Dean!" He heard. Sam ran up to him and smiled. "So our new people so far are you and this other guy so-- "
"Wait. Another guy? Why can't it just be him?"
"Because, I need two new people and I know you'd decline if I told you earlier but now you're hear so yea."
Dean rolled his eyes and slowly nodded.
"So, what do I have to do exactly?" Dean asked, clapping his hands together.
"Well you just have to sing a song for us." Sam smiled as the rest of the team sat down on some bleachers and chairs they had.
There was this other guy on the other side of the room in a hoodie to large for him, reaching down to half of his thigh and the sleeves hanging over his hands. His hair was black and sticking out everywhere. He was just looking down at the floor. That was probably the other guy-- Dean knew everyone else.
"Uh, what do I sing?" Dean asked.
"Anything's fine." Sam smiled and stepped away with the rest of his team.
Dean nodded and took a deep breath.
"Wait." Sam interrupted. "I'm gonna make this harder for you since we all know you sing well. Sing something by a female artist. Anything."
Dean glared at Sam, thought of a song and began to sing.
"Can't count the years on hand that we've been together...I need the other one to hold you, make you feel, make you feel better.
It's not a walk in the park to love each other...but when our fingers interlock, can't deny, I can't deny, you're worth it..."
Why is this the first thing that came to my head?!
"Cause after all this time...I'm still into you
I should be over all the butterflies! But I'm into you, I'm in to you.
And baby, even on out worst nights...I'm in to you, I'm in to you...
Let 'em wonder how we got this far, cause I don't really need to wonder at all ((I'm able to manipulate Jensen's voice so I can hear him singing this in my head-- I'm awesome. Can anyone else do that?))
Yea after all this time...I'm still into you."
Dean stopped singing and glared at them.
They all looked at each other and clapped.
"Well then. I didn't expect you to sing that but good job anyway." Sam smirked.
I'm never gonna live this down.
Sam and the rest of the team looked over at the other guy who's mouth was open in shock. Dean could see his eyes now. He could tell they were blue, but they looked like a regular blue from where he was standing. ((BUT THEY'RE NOT JUST ANY BLUE))
"Okay, please introduce yourself to the rest of the team." Sam smiled at the boy.
"Uh...my name's Castiel." He smiled.
"Hello, Castiel. You can sing whenever you're ready." Sam smiled.
"Aw come on little bro! Take off the sweater! Show off that body!" Gabriel teased.
They're brothers? Hmm...
Castiel rolled his eyes and pulled off the hoodie. He was wearing a black t-shirt-- whoa he was pretty fit. Not as muscular as Dean but you know.
Castiel looked around nervously before taking a deep breath and beginning to sing.
"Please leave all overcoats, canes, and top hats with the doorman...from that moment you'll be out of place and underdressed.
I'm wrecking this evening already and loving every minute of it.

every minute of it...ruining this banquet for the mildly inspiring and...
When you're in black slacks with accentuating, off-white, pinstripes whoa, everything goes according to plan."
Everyone was watching Castiel intently. He was currently sashaying across the floor, dancing the entire time.
"I'm the new cancer, never looked better, you can't stand it.
Because you say so under your breath, you're reading lips "When did he get all confident?"
Haven't you heard that I'm the new cancer?
Never looked better, and you can't stand it...
Next is a trip to the, the ladies room in vain, and
I bet you just can't keep up with, with these fashionistas, and
Tonight, tonight you are, you are a whispering campaign.
I bet to them your name is "Cheap", I bet to them you look like shh...
Talk to the mirror, oh, choke back tears.
And keep telling yourself that "I'm a diva!"
Oh and the smokes in that cigarette box on the table, they just so happen to be laced with nitroglycerin."
Castiel had his hands on his hips and he was just letting go. It was awesome. He was awesome.
"I'm the new cancer, never looked better, you can't stand it.

You're reading lips "When did he get all confident?"

Haven't you heard that I'm the new cancer?
I've never looked better, and you can't stand it..."
Castiel stopped singing, quickly pulled his hoodie back on and smiled shyly at everyone.
The team looked at each other before pushing Dean next to him and all smiling widely.
"Dean. Castiel. Welcome to the Treble Makers." Sam smiled.
Everyone cheered and clapped.
Castiel smiled widely and kept thanking everyone over and over again. Dean just smiled and nodded.
"Well, we'll leave you two to talk amongst yourselves and get to know one another better." Gabriel smirked before dragging the rest of the team away.
Castiel pulled the sleeves of his hoodie over his hands and looked down at his feet.
"Er, hi." He mumbled.
"Hey." Dean smiled.
Castiel looked up at him, his hair covering most of his eyes.
Dean smiled softly and stepped closer to him and moving his hair out of his face.
Castiel was looking up at him, his eyes wide in confusion.
Dean could've totally died then and there cause damn his eyes were gorgeous.
"Whoa..." he breathed.
"W-what?!" Castiel asked, brushing his hand over his face, trying to see if there was anything on his face.
"Your eyes..."
Castiel's cheeks went from pink to red in a few second and he blinked multiple times, Dean's hands still in his hair, one of them slowly moving to his cheek.
"They're so...blue...it's just...whoa..." he breathed.
Castiel's eyes widened and he pulled away from him, brushing his hair back down to cover his eyes.
"Crap. Sorry!" Dean immediately apologized. Why did he even do that?! God he's so weird.
"I-It's fine..." Castiel said, covering his face with his sleeves. "Your eyamdjdnsmxn..." He mumbled.
"What?" Dean asked, stepping closer to him, to hear him better.
Castiel uncovered his mouth and spoke again.
"You're eyes are really green...they're nice." He whispered.
Dean smiled softly and ruffled his hair before taking him to the rest of the team who were just watching them.
They were inseparable since. They were the best of friends and did everything together-- especially when they found out they were roommates.
One could even say they were slowly falling in love with one another.
But that was before the Hell Hounds showed up.
+++++
// Dean's POV
Dean opened his eyes to find himself sleeping on a horribly made bed on the floor of the practice room.
He slowly sat up and rubbed his eyes.
He could've easily gone back to his dorm and slept there but Castiel was probably there and Dean didn't really want to see him.
What are you talking about?! You kissed him the other night. Well it was out of comfort-- he was crying-- don't give me that bullshit you asshat, you've been dying to kiss him.
Dean slowly rolled up the blankets and set them aside, along with the pillow.
Sam and the rest of the team would be coming in soon.
Dean wasn't in the mood for anything.
Why would Castiel switch teams?
He said it was for the best-- that it would be easier to find a soloist. But...it didn't seem to be because of that...there was something else.
He just didn't know what.
// Castiel's POV
Castiel slowly opened his eyes and looked around. He had fallen asleep in that corner of the room last night.
No one else was there and it was a huge relief.
Castiel sat up, his neck was in so much pain from from the position he was sleeping in.
He stretched his arms out and rubbed his eyes. His face was sticky from all the crying he did.
There was a knock at the door and Meg walked in.
"Morning, my unicorn." She smiled.
Castiel smiled and waved. He liked Meg. She was the only one who spoke to him-- and she was nice to him.
Meg sat across from him and pushed her hair behind her shoulders.
"How'd you sleep?" She asked.
"Not very well...my neck hurts." Castiel complained.
"You know you could've just gone back to your dorm."
"But I couldn't have. Dean would've probably been there." Castiel sighed and brought his knees up to his chest.
Meg sighed and ruffled his hair.
"Don't worry, Clarence. Remember what Crowley told you: just competition and you'll get to run back to Dean. Just after finals." She reminded him.
Castiel nodded and then someone banged on the door.
"Meg?! Is he awake?!" Abbadon yelled from the other side.
"Yea! We're coming!" Meg yelled back, rolling her eyes.
She stood up and helped Castiel up, walking them to the door.
"Ready for some of Abbadon's crazy training?" She asked, placing her hand on the doorknob.
Castiel took a deep breath and nodded. And then the door was opened.
Castiel was ready.
He just needed to survive three competitions before he could go back to Dean. Back to his family.
Dean had kissed him the other night. That means Castiel meant something to him.
One thing's for sure: Castiel was going survive this hell and he was going to run back into Dean's arms.
Because Castiel Novak, was in love with Dean Winchester.
