Chapter Thirteen
Jin carefully crept towards the edge of the side of the bed. He moved with deliberate caution, being extra cautious not to disturb Jungkook. He stooped to pick up his clothes strewn across the floor and ensured each movement was silent. Suddenly, as he reached for his shirt, a hand clasped his wrist with a firm yet gentle hold, pulling him back onto the bed. The sensation of Jungkook's arms enveloping him, their bodies fitting snugly together, sent a rush of warmth through Jin.
"Good morning, Seokjin," Jungkook said with a smile. His morning raspy voice was evident of his once sleepy state. "Where are you rushing off to?" He inquired, curious about Seokjin's movements.
He took a nervous gulp and attempted to steady his pounding pulse after being caught by Jungkook. Jin took a deep breath to compose himself while gazing at Jungkook. He was unsure how to respond and wanted to avoid any awkwardness between them in the morning.
Jungkook leaned in, pressing his lips against Jin's forehead while his fingertips delicately traced patterns along Jin's back. "Don't think about anything right now. Just lie here with me."
"You have a photoshoot," Jin blurted out. He didn't want to neglect his job and wanted to make sure Jungkook didn't forget the purpose of their trip.
"I know. We'll make it there on time. Now, let's go back to sleep. Unless you'd prefer we spend this time together in a different way?" Jungkook asked, his hand gradually descending.
"Sleep. Sleep is preferable." Jin once again exclaimed, eliciting a chuckle from Jungkook.
It had only been one night, but the connection he had shared with Jungkook had revealed a depth of intimacy that made him realize that time seemed to vanish when they were together in bed. He knew their morning together in bed could effortlessly transition from morning to night without any limits.

During Jungkook's entire photoshoot, Jin made a conscious effort to keep himself occupied, even though it was a constant struggle to avert his gaze from Jungkook. The sight of Jungkook shirtless was a strong reminder of their time together, producing a flood of memories and feelings.
In addition to dealing with that, he found himself ignoring multiple calls from Chungjae, opting to send brief texts in response, citing busyness and promising to return the calls when possible. This deviation from his usual honesty with Chungjae made him uneasy, knowing he was betraying their relationship and the vows they were soon to take.
After spending the night with Jungkook, he struggled to make sense of his feelings. Despite this, he was determined not to let it dominate his thoughts, recognizing it as a temporary experience. He was convinced that he did not match the kind of person Jungkook sought for a lasting relationship.
He had observed the way everyone's eyes followed Jungkook, the smiles he received and returned, and the hushed conversations they exchanged. Witnessing these interactions only solidified his understanding of what he believed to be true.
Before the conclusion of the photo shoot, Jin entered the dressing room to collect Jungkook's belongings and ensure that everything was prepared for their departure. He took care to make sure that very little would be left behind for the crew to handle. His job was a priority to him, and he made sure to do what he could to emphasize this to avoid any misunderstandings about his intentions consistently.
As he carefully zipped the travel bag closed, a sudden jolt of surprise coursed through him as a pair of arms wrapped around his waist and soft lips pressed tenderly against his neck.
"I was wondering where you went," Jungkook whispered, his lips brushing against Jin's ear.
Releasing his grip on the bag, Jin slowly turned to face Jungkook, feeling Jungkook's arm still securely wrapped around his waist. "I just finished packing up all our stuff. Is everything good now? You're finished with your shoot, right?"
"I am, and-"
"Alright," Jin said as he disentangled himself from Jungkook's embrace. "I'm going to bring these items with me and make my way back to the hotel. I'll send you the schedule for tomorrow as I'm on my way there."
Jungkook reluctantly released his hold on Jin as he sighed. "Why do I feel like you are trying to put distance between us again?"
Jin's eyes shifted from Jungkook's as he looked to the ground. He wasn't in a mind frame where he could articulate all that had been going through his mind.
"I get it," Jungkook said with another sigh. Then he said, "I'd love to take you out tonight. I would love to go on a date with you. Is it possible for me to do that?" Jungkook extended his hand, grasping Jin's, drawing him nearer while his other hand encircled his waist. "I'd prefer it if you didn't spend too much time overanalyzing things. If you are going to overanalyze, at least allow me to demonstrate why I am the better man for you."
Jin remained silent, attempting to conceal his thoughts and emotions, which he found less betraying.
Jungkook leaned in, giving him a quick kiss before pulling away, "Let's plan for six. I will be by your room to pick you up."

Chungjae's firm voice came through the phone as he said, "I am sending a plane for you. I want you home."
"Why are you doing that? I am here to-"
"I don't care what you're doing there. I'm cutting my trip short and going home, and I expect you also to be there. This hobby you've picked up is causing issues in our relationship. I called you several times, and you sent my calls to voicemail each time. Voicemail!
When do you ever send my calls to voicemail, Seokjin?" Chungjae yelled furiously on the other end of the line; his voice filled with frustration and anger.
"Your obsession with this fucking pastime has you so fucking sidetracked that you suddenly have no time for me! What if I was calling due to an emergency? It didn't matter to you, did it? Get the fuck home, Seokjin, and I am serious."
Tears rolled down Jin's face as Chungjae scolded him. He was unsure what to do, but he was sure what he didn't want to do.
"Chungjae, I am sorry I didn't answer your calls. You know I am here because I am working. I have always respected this with you when you are working, and I am not sure why I can't receive the same respect. I don't think it's fair that you want me to get on a plane and come home in the middle of my trip.
When I agreed to marry you, I didn't consider it would also mean I would lose the right to do what I want. I appreciate everything we have, but I also don't want to feel like this," Jin said shakily through tears. "Jae, I am really sorry, but I have been thinking-"
"I am sorry. I had a rough night and day and want to see you, baby. I guess I got frustrated by that, and it clouded my judgment and caused me to think selfishly, but it's not a reflection of my respect for you. Instead of sending a plane, I will allow you to finish up with your thing. We can address this situation when you return home."
Jin drew a deep breath, his emotions swirling as he absorbed every word Chungjae spoke.
"What's on your mind, baby? Why aren't you saying anything? Do you love me?"
"Chungjae-"
"Did your father tell you that your mother had a relapse with her sickness this morning?"
Jin's eyes widened, "W-what? No. How?" He glanced at this phone call log history to see if he had accidentally reviewed any calls from his father.
Chungjae let out a deep sigh, his voice heavy with emotion. "I believe they didn't want to trouble you or see you upset," he said. He called me, distraught and in tears, especially considering the cost of the treatment. But I assured him there was no need for him to be concerned. I'll always step in when necessary, particularly when it involves my fiancé's mother.
After our conversation, I contacted the doctor and gave the go-ahead for the necessary treatment. This is why I kept calling you and urging you to come home. I now realize that you might have misinterpreted the emotional state I was in, and for that, I am sorry. I thought you'd want to be here, yet I understand that your pastime is your priority. So, don't worry, I'm on my way home today, and I'll take care of things until you arrive."
Jin's voice trembled as he uttered, "Jae, I didn't know," upon getting a response from his father after he had texted him wanting to know what had happened.
"Baby, don't worry. As your future husband, I want you to know that your family also means a lot to me. Let me handle this while you focus on your hobby. Come home to us whenever you can."
"I want to come home-"
"No, baby, don't. Please finish up what you are doing. I know I said some things earlier that weren't right and only because I was frustrated, but please trust me that I will take care of everything."
"Chungjae, I can't stay here knowing my mom is not well!"
"You are right. I will get a plane ready for you."

"What's this I hear about you leaving?" Jungkook questioned as soon as Jin opened the room door for him. "Are you okay? Did something happen?"
As Jungkook entered the hotel room, Jin closed the door behind him and turned to face him. "I'm really sorry, but something urgent has come up, and I have to leave," he explained.
"Is this because of last night-"
"No, this has nothing to do with last night," Jin quickly assured.
Jungkook moved closer to him and asked, "Then what is it? What's so important that's causing you to leave so suddenly?"
Closing his eyes, Jin took a deep breath to steady himself before speaking. His voice broke with emotion as he delivered the news, "It's my mom. She is not doing well. She hasn't been doing well for a long time, and recently, I thought the treatments and surgeries she has had were making her better. Even when I saw her before coming here, she looked like she was improving, but I was wrong. Things took a downturn today, and she needs another surgery."
Jungkook stretched out his arms towards Jin, embracing him tightly and offering comfort. "It's okay; you don't have to explain anything more. I am so sorry that this is happening with your mom," Jungkook murmured reassuringly. He then withdrew, retrieved his phone from his pocket, and placed a call, determined to help Jin in any way he could.
"I am flying home in the next hour. Have the plane ready."
Jin's eyes grew wide with worry and confusion as he stammered, "W-what are you doing?"
"I am taking you home so you can be with your mother."
Jin shook his head. "No, you don't need to do that. Chungjae is sending a plane for me. You have your schedule-"
"You can tell him it's not needed. I already have a plane here. Get your stuff; we are leaving. What hospital is your mother at?" Jungkook asked as he dialed another number on his phone.
"Jungkook-"
"Mom, the guy I like, mother, is in the hospital, and we are currently out of the country. Can I send you the details so you can go to the hospital where she is and find out the plan of care and everything that is happening? If she needs to be relocated, I want that done too."

"I'm Sorry, son. Can we reschedule our lunch? That was your brother; he needs my help," Sunmi said as she looked at her son.
Taehyung let out an exasperated sigh and rolled his eyes. "By my brother, you mean Jungkook, right? Mom, I asked you to lunch because I have something really important that I need to discuss with you and Dad. I want to talk to you first before getting Dad involved."
"I understand, son. We can talk about it later. Your brother called, and his request is important. He doesn't ask for much, and I can't refuse this. I'm sure whatever you want to discuss can wait. I don't want to upset your brother right now, especially when it involves the guy he is dating."
"What? Oh gosh, don't tell me this has anything to do with Chungjae's fiancé!"
Sunmi's eyes widened as she scanned the restaurant around her. After taking in her surroundings, she turned her gaze back to her son and asked, "What did you say?"
"Jungkook is showing interest in Chungjae's fiancé, and I need to talk to you about this. His actions could cost us the deal Namjoon has been working so hard to secure. Dad won't be happy about this either."
Sunmi sighed heavily, her eyes closing as the abrupt news washed over her, rendering her momentarily speechless. After a period of contemplation, she expressed, "It's clear that your brother has a strong interest in this guy. I understand the effort you and Namjoon invested in securing that deal, but I cannot influence Jungkook's feelings or tell him who not to like.
I hope you and Namjoon can resolve matters with Magnet, but I must go now. This is important to Jungkook, and I'd prefer he not reach out to his father."
