When He Finds You - Kai
Two dark days had passed since I had been kidnapped. I still had no idea where I was, or even how I got here. I imagined Kai was searching for me, or at least that's what I hoped. I didn't know it he was losing his mind and lighting things on fire or if he was thinking logically to come up with a plan. I was hoping for the latter, but for some reason I don't think that's how things were going.
The person that took me was nowhere to be found. I had nothing to eat or drink for the past couple of days and I felt very weak. But that's not what was making me nervous. I was anticipating what would happen next and when. If the person came back, or if I was killed, and the list went on.
I had never felt this alone. I mean, I lived alone and I liked my own company, but this was different. At least when I'm alone in my apartment I know who is around me and where, but not this. I didn't know where I was or who was around me. This was alone alone.
"That's not the plan!" a voice shouted from what I assumed was upstairs. I sat up at the sudden noise as it pulled me out of my trance. I didn't recognize the voice, it all seemed muffled and distant.
But it brought me hope. I didn't know how Kai would find me if he did, but there is always a chance. I didn't have my cellphone, I didn't have a tracker in my arm, there was no way for him to find me except watch the security cameras and maybe find out where I was dragged - if that's what happened because I still can't remember.
"Oh, okay. Then you tell me what the plan is, Mr-I'm-The-Leader-Because-I'm-A-Know-It-All," another voice spoke loudly. I hesitantly stood to my feet and went to the glass wall, pressing my war against the surface. "Hey, this is a team effort!"
My eyes widened and I realized that whoever was outside these doors was not there to hurt me. "Hello?" I called out as loud as I could though i was extremely weak and couldn't speak very loud. "Is anyone there? I can hear you!"
"Guys, did you hear that?" someone asked. I realized their voices were coming through the vents and I could have cried with frustration. "I think it's coming from downstairs."
"Oh, of course! This is how all horror movies end! The character goes downstairs and never comes back up! We should not go down there!"
As if on queue, the door at the top of the stairs slammed open and I took a step away from the glass. However, the person at the top at the stairs brought me back to the glass.
There the ninja stood in their gis with their hoods pulled up. "Kai! Kai, please get me out of here!" I cried out, my hands repeatedly coming in contact with the glass as tears rolled down my cheeks.
Kai and the others raced down the stairs and scattered to try and find a way to get me out.
However, it was Kai who ran to me and his eyes met mine. "Hey, hey, baby, I'm going to get you out, okay? You're okay," he told me, his hands placed over mine with the glass separating us.
I shook my head and laid my forehead on the cold glass, "Please," I begged.
Kai saw my broken state and turned his head to shout directions and frustrated orders at his team. Zane and Cole quickly vanished upstairs, maybe to find the person who did this, I wasn't sure.
But it was Jay who found a button that led to the wall dropping into the floor like a car window.
As soon as the glass was gone, Kai raced forward and I leaped into his arms, allowing his warmth and protection to encase me. I wrapped my legs around him, putting all my weight on him. Not that he minded because he had me back, and I had him.
He whispered soft things in my ear as I sobbed into his shoulder and he tried his best to calm me down, but between not eating or drinking for two days and then being so petrified for my life I couldn't stop letting everything out.
"I got you, Y/N," he whispered while pushing me into his shoulder. "I'm never going to let anyone hurt you again."
