Welcome to San Dimas!

Drew sighed heavily, her muscles and bones ached. The weather was quite nice in San Dimas, her new home. However, Drew felt disgustedly sweaty as she helped her parents move boxes into the house.

The large moving truck in front of Drew's  new house screamed 'new neighbors,' and she felt queasy about the thought. It was Friday afternoon, and Drew's mom had already visited the local high school to enroll her.

Drew has never been the new girl, and the idea of everyone staring down at her like a hawk wasn't comforting to her or her stomach.

"We're almost done, Drew." Her father comments, in hopes for his daughter to look more joyous or at least content with the move.

"I know, Dad. I'm just not too happy about leaving the band," Drew muttered, picking up another box, grunting at its weight. Even throughout the whole drive to San Dimas, her parents still didn't understand the importance of her band.

Drew's friends, The Exiles, her teachers, and basically her whole left was ripped away from her grasp. Most importantly, she missed Dylan a lot. He said he would call her later during the week, once she's finally settled.

Drew drowns out her father's voice as for the rest of the hour, before finally trudging upstairs to her empty room. Honestly, Drew wasn't surprised the old fart didn't understand, he probably couldn't see talent even if it was in front of his face.

As Drew entered her room, she drop the box down by the door, it landing with a loud thump.

'Well, this sure was the highlight of my day!' Drew sarcastically think to yourself, looking at all the boxes littering around her room. She needed a break, perhaps a breath of fresh air and to explore her new neighborhood.

After hunting down for the boxes with her clothes, Drew takes a shower. After showering, Drew felt rejuvenated, ready to kick ass, as she dries and dresses into her Iron Maiden shirt. Slipping into her black jeans and putting her socks, Devon searched around for the black Chuck Taylors she had on earlier.

Once Drew had her shoes on, she headed downstairs and was ready to leave when her mother stopped her by the gates.

"Where are going, Drew?" Her mother calls out as she head straight pass the white-picketed gates of the Ashford's new home.

"Exploring the neighborhood. I'll be back before dinner, mom." Drew announced, heading down the suburban neighborhood.

As Drew walked past each home, she criticized the front yard decor. There wasn't much else to do. The neighborhood was as normal as any suburban area could get.

However, a house finally sparked Drew's interest. Not the style of the house or its outdoor decor, but rather the two boys in the open garage with instruments, particular guitars.

However, Drew just stared from the distance. Drew didn't intend to be creepy, of course not, but she definitely came off as it. It was even more embarrassing when the curly blonde guy noticed.

And he noticed loudly.

"Dude, Ted, that bodacious babe over there has been staring at us for like three minutes." Curly speaks out to the tall brunette, now dubbed as 'Ted.'

Drew furiously blushed, feeling more embarrassed than ever. How weird was she?

To be quite honest, attractive dudes didn't bat an eyelash at Drew. Oh no, it was usually Janis who received the attention from guys whether she wanted it or not. The furtherest Drew had gotten with anyone was an awkward peck on the cheek from Dylan during a game of spin the bottle before she chickened out.

Needless to say, Drew and Dylan never mentioned it to each other again. No matter how much you had liked it him, it was too awkward.

"Maybe she's admiring our musical talent." Ted replies with a grin.

Talent?

"I haven't even heard you two play yet!" Drew spoke out loudly and critical with her arms crossed, catching the attention of the duo.

"Yeah? Well, I'm Bill and he's Ted and we're the Wyld Stallyns! Who are you?" Curly, now known as Bill, questions after his introduction.

Well, this certainly was a interesting way to meet her neighbors.

Drew walked towards them, before stopping in front of the two boys, "I'm Drew Ashford, the new neighbor a few doors down. I was in a band before I moved. I'm a bassist, and a pretty amazing one too."

"That's so cool! Hey Bill, we could totally use Drew in our band!" Ted suggests with a goofy smile. He was cute, he reminded Drew of a cute puppy. It kinda hurt too, he was a cute puppy just like James.

Oh dear, Drew has known Bill and Ted for like two seconds and she were already down the path of developing infatuation, mostly because they reminded her of James so far.

"Wait, wait, you two totally dodged my question! Can you play?" Drew asked, while shedidn't mind joining them, she definitely were curious in what she was getting herself into.

"Well, we're sorta getting there!" Bill answered.

Drew blinked at the new revelation.

Unbelievable.

"...You're saying you guys are newbies? Never mind that, considering I have nothing to do, I'll start teaching you guys the basics." Drew proudly declared, quickly overcoming the shock. Everyone had to start somewhere. It wasn't like Drew woke up one day and the man in the sky decided to deem her the new goddess of the bass guitar.

"Awesome dude!" Bill exclaimed happily, maybe they wouldn't need Eddie Van Halen.

"That would be the most excellent!" Ted added on, equally as jovial as his blond best friend.

Well, it was obvious they didn't really notice Drew's shock, and if they did, they decided not to care. Either way, Drew now had some entertainment. Not to mention, this sounded the start of totally non-heinous friendship.

Drew thought her chances of getting into Battle of the Bands was over, but she saw promise within Bill and Ted. They were cool and genuine dudes, and Drew was glad to find them first.

"By the way, do you guys happen to go to San Dimas High?" Drew questioned, the queasy feeling returning for the worst.

"We sure do, babe!" Ted replied. Man, was that puppy smile a permanent thing? Drew could sure get used to it.

"Okay, great. You two are showing me around. Please?" Drew commanded, but it came off as a nervous question.

"That would totally be excellent! Can't wait to show you around, Drew." Bill replied, and for once, Drew felt comfortable around someone who wasn't her old band.

Perhaps San Dimas isn't too bad after all.
