P.O.V. Third

The two figures known as King and Ember were currently walking down the halls of the palace. The reason for this was because King was currently making his way towards the large kitchen that the palace had. "So you Eclipse wouldn't let you taking cooking before?" Ember asked as she looked at the male next to her causing him to nod.

"Yeah, she said it wasn't a "manly" skill," King said as he looked at the female next to him. When he did Ember chuckled slightly as she looked at the male next to her.

"Well for what it's worth I think you'll always be manly no matter what you do," Ember said as she leaned over and kissed the male's cheek. When she did King smiled slightly with a slight blush and the two continued to walk down the halls together.

"So what are you going to be doing while I'm cooking?" King asked as he looked at the female next to him.

"Oh, I'll be studying with Xian. He was supposed to show me some things about being a princess," Ember said as she looked at the male next to her.

"Oh don't worry about that," Eclipse said as she looked at the female in front of her. When she said this the two turned to look at the female.

"Xian's always been a bit tense whenever it comes to rules and other things like that. I say have fun and learn to cook with King. After all, it's not like the kingdom's going to fall apart from you taking a cooking class. I'll take the blame, you need to worry about having fun more than working. There will be plenty of time for that later," Eclipse said as she looked at the female in front of her.

When she said this Ember's eyes lit up and she looked up at the female in front of her. "Really?" Ember asked as she looked at the male in front of her causing Eclipse to nod.

"Yeah don't worry about it. You can start his lessons tomorrow when there's nothing happening. After all, I'm sure King would love to have you with him. Isn't that right King," Eclipse asked in a teasing voice as she looked down at the male in front of him. When she asked this King's face turned a bright red and he looked at the female in front of him. Eclipse chuckled seeing this and looked at the male in front of her.

"E-Eclipse!" King said clearly embarrassed as he looked at the female in front of him. Eclipse chuckled hearing this and looked at the male with a slight smile.

"Don't worry, I'll try not to embarrass you in front of the guest while he's here," Eclipse said as she looked at the two in front of her.

"Guest?" Ember asked a bit confused as she looked at the female in front of her.

"Yeah, Xian went out of his way to hire a great chef, I know it'd be more convenient to just have one of the cooks here teach us but Xian and the others tend to hire people that they think will do a better job at teaching," King said as he looked at the female in front of him causing Ember to nod.

"Indeed, however, there are a few reasons beyond that, such as preferring certain skills over others, and other things of that nature," Eclipse explained as she opened the for them. However, the figure that they saw almost immediately put them on edge. He was tall and thin with deathly pale skin, pure white hair, and for some reason, he was wearing a golden mask that covered the entirety of his face except for his eerie yellow eyes, with the sclera of his eyes being a deep black.

This gave him a very unsettling feeling to him. "Ah, allow me to introduce myself. I am-" The male began only for King to cut him off.

"I know who you are, you're Canine Barca," King said as he looked at the male in front of her.

"Ah, my reputation proceeds me I see," The male said with what the two assumed to be a smile since they couldn't see behind his mask.

"In a certain sense yeah," King said as he looked at the male in front of him.

"I can only assume you mean the numerous theories, and controversy surrounding me. Let me assure you those are nothing more than the ramblings of a mad man," Canine said as he looked at the two in front of him.

"Right," King said as he looked at the male in front of him. It was clear he was skeptical, to say the least.

"So I assume you have a plan for today's lesson, and of course I'll be sitting in on the two of you protocol and all," Eclipse said as she looked at the male in front of her. The male nodded hearing this and looked at the three in front of him and nodded.

"Indeed I understand completely, and yes I plan on teaching them to cook four different meals today," Canine said as he looked at the female in front of him.

"I see, and what exactly are these meals?" Eclipse asked as she looked at the male in front of her.

"The meals will be a simple yet elegant quiche for breakfast, a healthy and hardy chicken parmesan for lunch, a delectable Filet mignon with shrimp and cognac sauce for dinner, and lastly a delicious caramel custard for dessert. I did bring my own ingredients but don't worry the ingredients were inspected thoroughly, by thirty different people to my count. Your two colleges Rain and Xiantao included," Canine said as he looked at the female in front of him.

Eclipse nodded hearing this and looked at the female in front of him. "I hope this kitchen will be adequate for teaching," Eclipse said as she looked at the male in front of her and Canine nodded hearing this.

"Indeed, however, I failed to mention that I didn't provide all the ingredients. I . . . didn't bring any of the meats. I was afraid they would spoil on the way over and didn't want to risk walking around with rotting meat for an extended period of time. I'm sure you understand," Canine said as he looked at the female in front of him causing her to nod.

"All right well first I'll be teaching you all how to make a ham and cheese quiche," Canine said as he walked the two over to one of the many tables that they had with several ingredients laid out in front of them as well as few different items used for measuring. A small amount of butter, a single yellow onion, a few eggs, a bottle of cream, some salt as well as some black pepper, a rather large piece of ham, four different types of cheese, and what appeared to be frozen pie crust.

"The first step is a rather simple but important one, and that is, to preheat the oven," Canine said as he began to turn the dial for the two in front of him. "I usually set it to three hundred seventy-five degrees, but you can adjust it to however high or low you feel as long as you also take into account how the difference it will take it to cook as well," Canine said as he looked at the two in front of them causing them to nod.

"Now then the real first step to making a quiche is to cook the onion I have. Would either of you like to volunteer to dice and cook the onion?" Canine asked as he looked at the two in front of him and King glanced over at Ember to see if she wanted to go first. After seeing that she didn't show any interest or at least no reaction to this King slowly raised his hand.

"I'd like to try," King said as he looked at the male in front of him and Canine nodded as he stepped to the side and brought the onion over to a cutting board for the male. "Now the first rule to handling a knife is to not catch it if it's falling. The second is to not bring it back and forth like you usually would for other knives, you want to try to do it in one fluid motion," The male said as he cut the onion in half showing the male what he was supposed to do.

King nodded and began to try and mimic what the male had done. Canine then turned to look at the female and smiled. However, she couldn't see it behind his golden mask. "Now then, while he's doing that you're job will be-" The male began as he grabbed a bowl and place it in front of her, a spoon, and a whisk. "To whisk together these four eggs, the cream, a fourth teaspoon of salt, and a fourth teaspoon of black pepper," The male said as he looked at Ember and she nodded.

Ember then began to crack the eggs and Canine noticed that she was able to do it with one hand instead of having to use two as most beginners did. "You've cooked before?" Canine asked as he looked at the female in front of him a bit surprised. Ember looked at him a bit surprised.

"Huh? Oh, yeah. Sometimes I try to make cookies, or things like that for King," Ember said as she looked at the male in front of him. Canine nodded hearing this and smiled however his mask once again blocked the view.

"Well that's rather sweet of you," Canine said as he leaned down to her. "Tell you what, after today's lesson is over, how about I show you how to make a few different types of lunch boxes. I'm sure he'll love them," Canine said as he looked at the female in front of him. When he said this Ember turned to look at him a bit surprised.

"R-really?" Ember asked and the male nodded. If it had been anyone else Ember might have accepted his offer but something about the aura that surrounded the male felt a little off to her. "Thanks, but I'll have to pass, I've got some other stuff I need to learn to do as well," Ember said as she offered the male a rather forced smile looking at the male. Canine nodded hearing this and stood back up to his full height.

"I understand, what with being a princess and all, soon to inherit a country and what not I can understand more important things than learning how to make a silly boxed lunch," Canine said as he walked away and looked at the two in front of him.

"Mister uh . . . Canine, sir. I'm done, what now?" King asked as he looked at the male in front of him and Canine moved a pan over an eye on the stove and brought the butter over for King.

"Get one tablespoon of butter and melt it over the pan. Once you've done that, take the onion that you've cut, and cook it," Canine said as he looked at the male in front of him causing King to nod and began to follow the male's instructions. As he did Canine looked at the two in front of him with a smile and heard a slight beep come from the oven most likely to show that it was finished heating up.

"I'm done too," Ember said as she looked at the male in front of her and Canine nodded as he placed a small cutting board in front of her as well as the piece of ham from before.

"Cut this into small chunks," Canine said as he looked at the female in front of him. Ember nodded and began to do as told trying to remember what he told King. "This should produce roughly one and a half cups of ham. I took the liberty to cook it before you came in earlier. After all, didn't want to spend all day here over a simple recipe," Canine said as he looked at the female in front of him.

Ember nodded and continued to cut the ham Canine watched over her until she was finished with the cutting. "Good, now just mix in the ham and cheese into the same bowl as before," Canine said as he looked at the female in front of him. Ember nodded hearing this and began to do as told pouring the mixture into the bowl. Canine smiled seeing this and walked over to King who was still cooking the onions and smiled.

"Perfect, now King take the onions out of the skillet and bring them over to Ember," Canine said as he looked at the male in front of him causing the male to nod and began to remove the onions from the skillet and brought them over to the female. "Now mix them in as well," Canine said as he looked at the female in front of him. Ember nodded hearing this and did as told and Canine watched over them until he was sure all the ingredients had been mixed in.

Canine then put the pie crust in front of her. "Now pour it in the crust," Canine said as he looked at the female in front of him. Ember did as told and poured the mixture into the tray. "Now King put the mixture into the oven, and please try not to spill any," Canine said as he looked at the child in front of him. King nodded hearing this and picked up the mixture and placed it into the oven and smiled as he began to wait for it to cook.

"Now we'll have to wait for it to finish. It'll take a while, so you two can do whatever you want until it finishes," Canine said as he looked at the two in front of him. The two nodded hearing this and began to wait for the meal they had prepared to finish. It took nearly an hour for the meal to finish and when it did Canine smiled behind his mask and reached for an oven mitt before he pulled out the quiche that the two had made.

"I would suggest, giving it a moment to cool, however after that I say enjoy the meal that the two of you prepared. After all, what's the point in making food if no one's going to enjoy it?" Canine asked as he got two plates for the two in front of him. The two nodded hearing this and began to wait for the meal to cool down. After it did the two each got a slice and then began to walk away with Canine watching them as they did.

"Don't watch them," Eclipse said as she looked at the male in front of her. When she said this Canine turned to the female.

"May I ask why?" Canine asked as he looked at the female.

"They're not going to eat as long as you're watching them. You creep them out," Eclipse said rather bluntly as she looked at the male in front of her.

"I see, then perhaps I can talk to you to help distract them," Canine said as he looked at the female in front of him and Eclipse shrugged hearing this, in all honesty, she couldn't care let what the male does. However unknown to the four in the room a small group of the surviving cultists had somehow managed to infiltrate the palace. At the moment they were trying to figure out where either the prince or his bride to be were.

"Any information about where they are?" One asked as he looked at the other two in front of him.

"Yeah, apparently they're taking a cooking class today. We might need to be careful though. One of the royal guards is with them. The cook shouldn't be anything we need to worry about," The female of the group said as she looked at the two in front of her. The two nodded hearing this and smiled.

"Great let's meet by the kitchen in ten minutes. That's when we'll strike," One of them said as they all began to walk away from each other. Unknown to them that as they did the two that they were targeting were currently sitting together in with Ember holding up a small piece of food in front of her.

"Say ah," Ember said as she looked at the male in front of her. King's face turned a slight shade of red hearing this however he did open his mouth. Ember smiled as she placed the piece of food into King's mouth. "Now me," Ember said as she looked at the male and King nodded as he got her a small piece of food and offered it to her. "Ah," Ember said as she opened her mouth and King placed the food in her mouth which Ember chewed rather happily.

"Hey, King can . . . can I ask you something?" Ember asked as she looked down, her face a slight shade of red showing that she was clearly embarrassed.

"Sure," King said as he looked at the female in front of him.

"How . . . h-how many kids do you want?" Ember asked her face a bright red. When she asked this King's face turned a bright shade of red as well.

"I-I don't know, I guess two would be nice," King said a bit embarrassed as he looked at her.

"I see, and would you want girls or boys?" Ember asked as she looked at the male in front of her.

"I guess if I would prefer girls," King said as he looked at the ceiling having to actually think about her question for a moment.

"I see, what would you want to name them?" Ember asked as she looked at the male in front of her.

"Hmm, I'm not sure actually," King said not being able to think of a name for the female in front of him.

"I was thinking the name's Scarlet, and Violet would be nice," Ember said as she looked at the male in front of her.

"Oh, those are nice names," King said as he took another bite of the meal that they had prepared. Ember smiled hearing this and began to lean against the male starting to use him as a pillow.

"Yeah, that sounds nice," Ember said as she nuzzled into King's shoulder. When she did King turned a bright shade of red and after taking a moment to muster up some courage King moved an arm around her shoulder his face still stained red as he did. The two sat there for literal hours merely enjoying each others company as they did. However, their moment was finally brought to an end by Canine approaching the two.

"Are you two ready for the next lesson?" Canine asked as he looked at the two in front of him causing the two to nod. As they stood up a figure peered into the room and saw the two.

"They're in there, is everyone ready?" The figure asked as he looked at his two companions causing them to nod. "Perfect," The male said as he kicked in the door. When the three rushed into the rooms and pointed their guns at the two children in front of them. The three didn't even bother with a speech of any kind and began to fire at the two. As they did the bullets all stopped before they reached the two and reversed directions destroying the guns that they had come from.

The three were more than surprised to see this and without hesitation, the three charged forward. As the did King moved forward separating them from Ember and King jumped into the air doing a flip and kicking towards one of them. When he did a large gust of wind came from his leg and knocked the male back into the arms of Eclipse and she immediately began to wrap the male in her wires.

Another then approached King from the side, as he did King went low and swept the male's feet sending him into the air and King sent his hand forward sending another large gust of wind towards the male forcing him into a wall. As he did Eclipses wire once again began to wrap around the male. The last figure then ran towards the male and King jumped backflipping as he did with another gust of air coming from his foot as he did, sending the female into the air.

King then turned around with his arm extended as he did and slowly brought it into him. As he did a large amount of water that had been in one of the sinks moved out and crashed into the female sending her into the wall with the water freezing a second later pinning her to the wall. As he did King sighed and Ember hugged his arm and nuzzled into him. "My hero!" Ember exclaimed as she looked at the male in front of her.

As she did King's face heated up and Canine looked at the young male in front of him a bit surprised. "You're surprisingly efficient when it comes to battle, young prince," Canine said as he looked at the male in front of him. When he said this King turned to look at him a bit surprised.

"Of course he is," Eclipse said as she approached him from behind. "King's been training for years now, and with the help of his semblance, he's been improving rapidly.

"Is that so?" Canine asked as he looked at the male in front of him. "Well nevertheless it was still very impressive for someone as young as yourself," Canine said as he looked at the male in front of him before sighing and turning to look at the three in the room. "I suppose the rest of today's class has been canceled. Well, in any case, I should probably get going," Canine said as he walked out of the building.

However unknown to the three that he had just left he had a far darker plan in mind. While it was true that most of the rumors that surrounded him were fairly odd and had no basis, in reality, there were a few that were indeed true. One is the very reason he had left early in order to pursue the remaining members of the cult that had attacked them. Canine, was a cannibal. He wasn't usually the type to interfere with someone else's affairs.

However, he did have some minor qualms with the cult. The issue was that Ember's family was a business partner of his so the fact that they had tried to eliminate her twice was more than enough for concern. Which lead him to the current situation of his standing in of the building they were now using as their new hideout. Canine knocked firmly on the door and waited for someone to answer. When they did he saw a male around his height answer.

"Can we help you?" The male asked.

"I do hope so, can you tell me if this is the cult that's been trying to murder Ember Flavescent?" Canine asked as he looked at the male in front of him.

"Who wants to know?" The male asked as he looked at him.

"So this is the place, good," Canine said as he reached down to remove his contacts he always hated it when they got dirty. They were always such a pain to clean. When he removed his contact it revealed gray eyes that were a deep red clearly bloodshot. "I was worried I had the wrong place for a minute," Canine said as he removed his mask revealing a rather horrifying sight.

Canine's teeth had been flayed showing not only each individual tooth but also a bit of his gums as well. There were also several scars that spread from where his lips would have been. His teeth were also rather long nearly three times the size they should have been and they were all extremely sharp. "I'm glad I ran into you, I'm starving for a piece of fresh meat," Canine said with a smile as he suddenly lunged forward and began to sink his teeth into the male's jugular.
