[Lucy's pov]
"Yo, Lucy!" I heard Natsu's voice in the distance calling my name.
"Hey Natsu, what's up?" I asked as he ran to me.
"Let's go on a job!" He said as he dragged me to the request board.
"Fine, fine. I want to choose." I said with a smile.
"Sure Luce, go ahead." Natsu said and I was left shocked. He never let's me pick a job without arguing, well maybe he's in a good mood today.
"Okay... let's see... I like this one!" I said and pointed to a job request. Natsu looked at it and looked back at me.
"I don't want to go to some dance party and act like we're a couple to capture some theif!" He said and I sighed.
"Fine, I'll just ask Gray.." I said and started to walk towards Gray. As soon as I turned around I noticed Natsu's grip on my wrist.
"Problem, Natsu?" I asked turning back to him.
"You're not going with him, I'm going." He said, kinda angry.
"Alright!!" I yelled and jumped up as Natsu sighed in relief.

~On the train~

[Natsu's pov]
"Ughh!" I tried to hold back my puke as my motion sickness kicked in. I still can't believe that Lucy would go on this kind of a job with Ice Popsticle... I mean he's such a perv, always stripping and Lucy's got to watch that! What the hell! I get so angry every time she has to see any part of his body that should be covered, but what angers me the most is when I have to watch other guys looking at Lucy. Every time I saw a guy even trying to come near Lucy I would burn them to a crisp. I'm trying not to seem jealous, but it's hard sometimes. I mean how would you feel if you had to watch the person you love be with someone else?
"L-Luce, can I lay on your lap?" I asked and waited for her response.
"O-Okay.." She said and I literally fell on her, Lucy then stroked my hair.
"T-Thanks, that feels great.." I said with a blush as I fell asleep.

[Lucy's pov]
"T-Thanks, that feels great.." Natsu said and I blushed 50 shades of red. I stroke his hair gently and his hair was so soft, I just loved it. I hope I could do this every day... That's right, I'm in love with my best friend...
I could tell Natsu fell asleep so I drifted into one as well.

"Ahhh!" I yelled as I woke up from a nightmare, I shaked badly and it took me good five minutes to realize that Natsu was shaking me as well.
"Lucy! Come on, snap out of it, Luce!" He yelled as I finally looked up at him.
"I-I'm fine, it was just a nightmare." I said with a fake smile, the truth is I don't even remember what my nightmare was about. I just woke up scared for my life.
"You're not fine, just let me help you!" Natsu said as he pulled me in his arms. 
"Natsu, I'm really fine... there's no need for that.." I said as I tried to get off of him.
"Trust me, just stay like this until we get there." Natsu said and tightened his hug, I stopped shaking and relaxed in his arms. It was nice, I felt safe.
"Thank you.." I said as i put my arms around his torso.
"Hey Natsu, why don't you have motion sickness anymore?" I asked.
"Uh I don't know.. I guess I was so woried about you that it just went away.." He laughed it off as I smiled.
"Thank you for always looking out for me, Natsu.." I said while blushing.
"It's more like a reflex now, Luce." We both laughed at his joke, I love it when he makes jokes and fools around.

~In front of the palace~

[Natsu's pov]
"I think this is it.." I said in awe.
"Eh.. I've seen bigger.." Lucy said, not thrilled.
As we walked in we saw tall man in his 40s.
"Ah, you must be fairy tail mages! Thank you so much for comming." He said as he shook our hands.
"It's our pleasure to be here. So, tell us about the theif. " Lucy said.
"Well.. you see.. we got a note from someone as a warning. It said that the evil man will come here, not the reason why or anything."
"We understand, don't worry. We'll take care of it." Lucy said with serious face.
"I'm all fired up!" I yelled and punched my hand.

"Do I need to wear this?" I asked. I was wearing normal black tuxedo.
"What's wrong with it, it suits you." I heard Lucys voice and I turned around just to see pure perfection. She was wearing black dress that was reaching the floor, it had white strings on the edges (basicaly her leo star dress, but longer version and white instead of gold), her hair was in a bun as her bangs fell perfectly on each side of her face. She looked stunning and I couldn't stop staring and blushing.
"Wow.." I wispered. She looked at me and I quickly looked away.
"What? Does it look bad?" She asked.
"No, you look beautiful.." I said and my face was 150 shades of red.
"T-Thanks, you're handsome as well." She said and we walked into the dancing hall. It was the biggest hall I have ever seen. All people were royal dressed. We started to dance. I held her close to me and tried my best not to embarrass myself. It was playing slow song so we were just dancing leaning on each other. It was quite nice, just Lucy and I.

----------------------Boom-----------------------

"Look out!!" I yelled and started to punch the parts of the roof that fell from explosion.

[Lucy's pov]
"Open, gate of the golden bull! Taurus! And, star dress; Taurus form!!" I yelled as I pulled out my golden key and transformed.
"Moo, looking good miss Luucy!" Taurus said.
"Let's just help Natsu!" I yelled and kicked big piece that almost crushed a child. It broke into small pieces.
"Are you okay?" I asked little girl.
"Yes, thank you!" She said and hugged me.
"Elie!!" I heard a woman scream.
"Mommy!" Little Elie yelled and ran to her mom.
"Thank you, miss." She said and I nooded in response.

"Need help?" I asked Natsu.
"Thanks.." He said and we started to fight some guy in the mask.
"Oh, you two must be Natsu Dragneel and Lucy Heartfilia." The man said.
"How do you know who we are?!" Natsu asked.
"How can I not? The famous guy Natsu Dragneel who killed my brother!" He said and I was shocked.
"What are you talking about? I never killed anybody!" Natsu said.
"I'm not going to make you remember, I'm here to take something precious to you!" He said with sinister in his eyes as he shoot black arow at my direction. I dodged it but it still sliced trough my shoulder.
"Lucy!!" Natsu screamed and ran to my side.
"I'm fine, it's nothing." I said.
"You're gonna pay for that!" Natsu said with rage in his voice and ran in masked mans direction. I had to stay put for now, just a little time for my wound to stop bleeding.

[Natsu's pov]
"Fire dragon's IRON FIST!!" I yelled and punched that guy across the hall.
"Not enough to beat me.." The guy said.
"Black arrow!" He said and I watched as the black dust formed in his hand, ready to go right trough me. I managed to dodge in last second.

Our fight went on for a while now and I didn't made a single scratch yet, I'm breathing heavily because of the injuries all over my body and tiredness. If I get just one more hit I don't think I'll make it out of here alive.
He prepared his final attack as I looked at him. I guess this is my final battle. I thought as I closed my eyes and waited for the pain, but nothing came. I re-opened my eyes and saw Lucy in front of me and water surrounding us in some kind of a shield.
"L-Lucy?" I asked confused, I didn't know she had that kind of power.
"You are complete idiot, were you actually trying to die now?!!" She was furious.
"S-Sorry.." I managed to say before I fell on my knees.
"Natsu! You okay?" Lucy said as she ran to my side.
"I'm fine, it's nothing.." I said and smiled, she smiled in return.
"Okay, leave this to me! You just rest. I'm all fired up!" She said and unfortunately all I could do is watch.

[Lucy's pov]
He hurt Natsu badly, do I even have a chance against him?
"So, Lucy Heartfilia... You are going to protect your protector now, huh?" He said, annoyed.
"I am!" I said. I am going to protect my protector.

I actually managed to hit him and cause damage, but that was going for me too.
"I have to end this, Natsu is in bad condition, I have to help him!" I yelled and said the words for Urano Metria.
"Survey the Heavens, Open the Heavens...
All the stars, far and wide...
Show me thy appearance...

Urano Metria!" I called the spell and casted it on the guy. After the smoke cleared he was face down on the floor. I guess I won, that doesn't matter now, I have to help Natsu.

"Hey Natsu, can you hear me?" I asked, concerned. He opened his eyes to look at me and smile.
"You were amazing.." He said and my tears came out of nowhere.
"I promise, I'll save you Natsu!" I said as his eyes were already close.
"Natsu!! No, don't close your eyes!" I cried harder, but put my hands on him and remembered that Wendy teached me how to use Recover. I used what's left of my magic energy to heal his wounds, the most serious was on his stomach.
After few minutes he started to wake up and I jumped on him for a hug.
"Thank god you're okay!" I yelled and embraced him.
"Y-You s-saved my life, thank you Lucy.." Natsu said as he embraced me back.
Later I started to feel dizzy because I lost too much of my magic power, next thing I knew was that everything went black.

[Natsu's pov]
"Luce, you sure you can stand?" I asked.
"Y-Yeah, just wait.. I feel dizzy-" She started to fall, but I caught her just in time.
"Luce, thank you..." I picked her up bridal style and kissed her on the lips, I carried her to the train station, then to the guild. On the way back I couldn't help but worry. I hopped that she was okay and of course I was thankful, she risked her life for me.

~3 days later~

[Lucy's pov]
"Mhmm" I woke up and felt something strange beside me, when I looked over I saw Natsu hugging me in his sleep. I wasn't angry and I didn't want to yell at him so I just gently woke him up.
"Hey Natsu, wake up.." I said in a soft voice.
"Five more minutes ,Luce...

Wait, Luce? LUCE!!!" He jumped on me and hugged me.
"Good morning to you too.." I said as he let go of me.
"Do you know how worried I was?" He said angry, but soon after he sighed in relief. 
"Sorry to make you worry, I was just-" I got cut off as Natsu's lips were on mine. At first I was shocked, but I melted into the kiss. Damn, his lips are so warm and soft. After we separated I opened my eyes just to see his staring at mine.
"N-Natsu? What was that for?" I asked, blushing hard.
"Just my way of saying thank you, just to you.." He said and I blushed more.
"Then, I shall thank you as well.." I said as I put my hands on his face and kissed him.
"I love you, Natsu.." I said as we pulled away.
"I love you too, Luce.." Natsu said and we continued our make out session.
