Little whines and loud screams in pain come from the small hybrid boy. There are bags under his eyes as the daylight burns on his skin.
Back when he was little he always slept at day, which was his nature to do so. Now...
Nightmares. Every single night he can't sleep because he doesn't get tired in the night. At day, he feels like a pet.
"Can we just tape his mouth shut?" The shorter scientist grumbles. "I hate those little squeaks."
"You wanted a smaller rodent. Besides, I like it when he screams." The taller smirks.
"So much for things to evolve to humanity." The shorter complains. "The only thing this annoying little chinchilla can do is climb in small cracks big enough for his body and climb stuff. I don't see how this can help us, Namjoon."
"I caught this one because his species are nearing extinction. We were lucky it's a male. Females are dominant in their groups. So, Yoongi, a skill he has is the ability to submit in a single second, to use his nails to climb the highest trees, and this one in particular has a habit of hanging upside down from his tail. They're agile and quiet creatures when alone."
Yoongi rolls his eyes, so why are we always busy with his nails then if we can practice more with submission?"
"Because this is your testsubject. Mine is a bit..." Namjoon chuckles. "Wild."
"That fox? Yeah, where did you get him?"
"I took him from his pack when he was asleep. He's still angry with me. He wants to kill me."
"You really live in death."
"If he misbehaves with me... He'll get more than a simple pull at the tail. I tried to soft. But the little boy won't listen and just goes after everything he sees like a cat. I'm putting him a leash and shock collar. I'll feed him if he behaves. I'll tame him with my bare hands."
Yoongi grins at him. "You always know what you want."
He turns his head back to the quietly squeaking and whimpering chinchilla, just sighing and pushing a button on the remote on his belt. The blinds close, leaving the room dark.
"Get down. You're done."
Immediately the sharp tickle of nails climbing down on the wall is heard, a soft painful whine when he lands on the ground with shaking legs.
"Get back to your cage."
The chinchilla hybrid nods quickly and rushes towards it, happy enough that he's in a bright room so he can sleep.
He hears the door slide shut with a loud bang, immediately curling up on the soft warm bed.
°•●•°
Loud protests and growling, whining and screaming. The fox hybrid is angrily pulled with my the leash around his neck.
Namjoon kept on his promise. The fox is wearing a shock collar.
The fox tries to bite him constantly, feeling threatened by the scientist once more.
"Foxes rarely live in groups." Namjoon says. "Why were you?"
"My pack is none of your business!!" The fox growls angrily. "Now let me go!!"
Namjoon smirks at him. It's not his usual smirk. He's excited, sinister, planning something.
His finger slowly moves over to the big red button on the remote in his pocket. The fox growls at him, eyeing him like a hawk.
He screams out in sudden pain. The button is pressed, high voltage shocks jump on his neck, sending his nerves a message.
"Disobey me, and I won't be nice." Namjoon says, his voice dropping an octave lower. "If you do obey me, there is a reward."
"Nothing you have can reward me." The fox snarls back. "You monster."
Namjoon's grin falls into a scowl. "Determined little fox you are."
The fox frowns when Namjoon gets a small bag out of his pocket, grabbing a small piece of raw beef out of it.
It's small, but clearly eye catching as the fox's ears immediately perk up and his tail flicks to the other side.
"Perhaps this will change your mind."
The fox snaps his head back at him, to the piece of meat, and again and again. He throws his head back with a growling whine and glares at the scientist.
He opens his mouth to say something, watching as the smirk once again grows.
That's when he lunges forward and bites the piece from Namjoon's hand, biting his fingers with.
Namjoon winces in pain but quickly pushes the bright red button, too late, as the fox has already gobbled the piece of meat into his stomach.
The fox grins at him through the pain. "I told you. Nothing you have can reward me. What you do now is only tempting me to be more and more stealthy and take more and more of what you own."
Namjoon returns him a sinister grin, slowly stepping closer to him and grabbing his collar with bleeding fingers.
"We shall see about that."
°•●•°
Yoongi quietly listens around the corner. The loud slithering hisses make him shiver.
The reason for this hybrid was simply because the hybrid was on their terrain.
If he listens closely, he can hear the snake slithering around, grabbing onto something and slamming it against the plastic cage.
It doesn't make a lot of noise, but it surely scares him a little in the dark.
He switches on the light, immediately hearing the hybrid hissing out for anyone approaching.
As he keeps a straight face, the snake hybrid hisses at him and slams his hands against the plastic, trying to fight his way out.
"Calm down, you'll ruin your bed."
"Don't give me that cheap excuse!" The snake hisses, a little slither at the S.
"What were you doing on our terrain. And why are you so different from the other snake hybrids we know?"
The hybrid hisses at him again. "I'm no different than you humans are."
Yoongi cocks his head a little. "What do you mean?"
The snake rolls his eyes. "Race. I'm a different race."
Yoongi nods a bit, slowly taking a box out of his pocket. He pulls out a dead mouse by its tail.
The snake huffs a bit, his tongue slithering out from between his lips. "Are you trying to bribe me?"
"I want to feed you, why would I bribe you when you have nothing of use to me." Yoongi grumbles. "Promise not to kill me."
"Why did you even capture me?! I was looking for my sister! She was last seen going this way!" The snake hisses. "So just let me go. I have nothing with you and you have nothing with me."
"That's where you're wrong." Yoongi grins darkly. "I don't care for what you have, but people psy nicely for scales like those. It's not what you have that I want. It's what you have that I can get value out of."
The snake hisses again, baring his long thick fangs, he raises himself on his tail, clearly not happy with the human.
"Come feed me then. I can't promise you won't be my prey. I can swallow you whole."
Yoongi frowns. "I'm human. There is no way you, with the human torso, can swallow me."
The hybrid smirks widely at him. "Try me, human boy."
Yoongi scowls at him, but silently opens the door with the code, watching it slide open.
"Do you have a name?" Yoongi asks, holding up the mouse to him.
As the snake snatches the animal and swallows it in one go, hissing at the human.
"Hoseok, but my people call me Hobi."
"Hobi..." Yoongi grins. "Cute."
"I said my people!" Hoseok hisses. "You are not my people!!"
The next thing Yoongi knows is not being able to breathe. The snake has wrapped around his chest in a second, squeezing tighter and tighter, using his hands to tighten his throat.
He reaches to feel his scales, being able to caress the hard surface before his arm falls limp and he faints, his oxygen failing his lungs.
Hoseok unwraps from his body, escaping his cage. He sniffs the air, baring his fangs with a hiss.
He smells prey.
He lunges towards it with a speed that seems impossible for a snake, slamming his hands against the nearest cage with a loud fang baring hiss.
The chinchilla inside shivers, not even paying attention to the glass.
The snake hisses again, louder, wanting to see the fear in his eyes. But as soon as the little critter turns around, he tilts his head.
It slowly hops closer to the cage, laying his hands against the ones of the snake, tears in his eyes.
"Please help me..."
It's muffles and very quiet, but Hoseok can hear it. He lifts the end of his tail, grabbing the codelock and ripping it apart, breaking the wiring and clicking the door open.
Immediately the tail of the chinchilla starts wagging and he jumps up, hugging the snake in tears.
Hoseok doesn't know what to do. He just awkwardly stands there, the tip of his tail swaying nervously in irritation of his prey holding him.
"Thank you... Thank you..."
"Yeah yeah. Get off me."
The chinchilla jumps back down, smiling brightly. "Thank you...
His ears perk up, listening all around until his ears drop.
"F-fire..."
He whimpers, jumping and climbing onto the walls, crawling across like a salamander.
Hoseok sniffs around. "It smells like... smoke?"
Both of them look at each other, rushing to where it comes from. They open tens of door before finally reaching the culprit.
A fox hybrid snapping his teeth in all different places of a passed out human body, fire surrounding them.
"Hey!" The chinchilla screams, running over and pulling the fox hybrid off, who immediately starts growling at the other two.
"Are there more?"
"I only smelled him." Hoseok grumbles. "I'm getting fuzzy..."
"We have to get out!" The chinchilla screams.
He pulls both of the hybrids through the fire, flawlessly finding his way through to a small exit, a crack in the wall, and starts clawing it out, making it big enough for them to get through and escape before the building falls down.
Without a second to look back, all three of them run away from the building, into a nearby city.
The fox immediately goes to run into the forest before stopping himself. He looks back as the other two.
"We should hide in the city." The snake mutters. "They won't think about finding us there."
"Who said an us?" The fox sneers. "There is no us and never has been. I have a future mate to call."
"They've probably murdered your pack." The chinchilla says softly. "To stop them from saving you..."
Only at his words the fox releases a wild set of growls and squeaks, his ears pressing down and the tip of his tail tensely swaying.
"I was following my sister, who knows if she's dead."
"I care about my pack. Not about you or your stupid sister!"
"We should all split up." The chinchilla nods. "If the find us, we won't know where each other are."
"Why? Do you think they're alive?" The fox scoffs. "They're dead. I made sure that this pesky doctor couldn't take what he wanted."
That's when the chinchilla gulps, his ears dropping sadly. "But... they did get it from me..."
°•●•°
The road through the city was big. They had no idea where to go. Stray animals or hybrids were running around in trash to look for food.
"Sooo... Who are you?"
Hoseok snaps his head to the chinchilla, huffing. "None of your business."
"Why? I'm Jimin!"
"That wasn't code for I want yours." The fox sneers.
"I just..." Jimin whimpers. "If we need each other..."
"We won't."
"But--!"
"Listen, Jimin," The fox growls. "Both me and him can eat you and shred you to pieces. If we ever meet again, it'll be as hunter and prey."
Jimin's ears drop sadly, nodding slowly. "Can I at least know your names?"
The snake huffs. "You know how to push. Hoseok." He grumbles.
The fox growls. "Seokjin."
Jimin gives them both a smile, waving them goodbye as he climbs up on the lamp post and jumps from roof to roof, looking for a hideout.
The two remaining predators look at each other before both going into the other direction.
Hoseok into the darker, dangerous part of the city.
Seokjin in the street lit part.
They were certain not to meet again in times like this, in environments like this.
°•●•°
The next morning rises, Hoseok lays curled in in a box, keeping himself warm. He doesn't care for a new master. He just wants his sister back.
"Hey. Get out of my trash will you? It's getting picked up at twelve. You'll be mashed potatoes and skin."
Hoseok uncurls at the voice, annoyed at his disturbance. He bares his fangs, expecting a prey. But he sees... a creature.
A creature with no ears or tail, no scales and boring eyes. He stares at him, coldly, as Hoseok observes him.
"Weird thing."
"Says the weird one." Hoseok snarls back. "What even are you for hybrid?"
"Hybrid?" He laughs. "No. I'm human. I don't like hybrids like you."
Hoseok scoffs. "What even are humans? Useless creatures."
The human tilts his head. "Usually hybrids are... tame."
"Are you calling me a pet?!" Hoseok hisses, preparing to lunge at him.
But the human grabs his throat, jumping on his back and locking his tail in place.
Hoseok hisses loudly, curving his head and slipping out, sinking his fangs through the human's skin.
The human hisses in a breath, wincing and clicking his tongue at the venom that pours into his veins.
"Your venom is so weak. It's made for little animals you prey on."
Hoseok hisses against his skin, pulling his fangs out, opening the wound. He cocks his head at how emotionless the human remains.
"I've been bitten a lot more by your kind than you think." The human mutters, pulling down the turtleneck of his sweater, revealing a large scar, a bitemark and a red recent clawmark cutting through it.
Hoseok looks at his mark. "Painting your body in those is prettier than tattoos. You should thank me."
The human grins at him. "My father would hate if I came home with tattoos, but scars are worse."
"I know what that's like."
Both of them share a few minutes of silence before the human opens the door to his garage.
"The name's Taehyung. You hungry?"
Hoseok grins, nodding. "You got a rabbit?"
"I got lamb."
"Good enough."
°•●•°
The fox runs through the city, tail following him behind, ears pressed against his scalp at all the hybrids he sees.
Any human face reminds him of the doctor who captured him.
Thank god that building burned down. Seokjin hates it with all his might.
He wants food.
He's a picky eater. Looking for small prey is difficult in a world of hybrids in the city.
If he can find a way to decapitate them... That could work.
He constantly turns his ears, wanting to miss not a single opportunity for food. That tiny piece of beef was nothing to him.
He stops in his tracks, raising his nose to smell. His ears perk up, a smirk crawling onto his lips.
"Jimin..."
His following growl sends chills down the chinchilla's spine as he peeks his head out from the roof.
"Hey Seokjin..."
Seokjin gives him a fanged grin. "Come down will you? I'm very hungry and no one wants to feed a poor fox like me. Will you help me find some food?"
Jimin cocks his head, nodding a little too fast as he jumps down, smiling brightly at the taller hybrid.
"I knew you'd come around!"
Seokjin growls loudly, wasting no time to grab the poor hybrid by his throat and bites into his arm.
Jimin winces and screams out in pain, begging Seokjin to stop.
"Can you two quiet down?"
Seokjin's ear twitches in annoyance, glancing up at the window of the house Jimin was on.
There is a man glaring down at him, a pair of glasses on his nose and messy hair poking in all directions.
"Some of us are working."
Seokjin growls angrily at him, continuing to gnaw on Jimin's skin.
The man rolls his eyes and shuts the window, opening the front door after a few minutes, stepping outside and smacking Seokjin upside the back of his head.
Seokjin growls at him, baring his fangs.
"The pro of being a cop is you get to do this. The con is I'm too tired to get on duty."
Jimin squeaks in Seokjin's hold, begging to be saved. Which the human gladly does, pulling Seokjin by his ear, causing the hybrid to squeak out in pain and let go.
He winces and whines as he's pulled inside the house, Jimin hopping right behind them, thanking the human quietly.
The human locks the door, muttering under his breath for the hybrids to follow.
The fox growls at him, still pulled by his ear. "Will you let go of me?! He is my food-- OW!!"
The human pulls his ear harder. "Respect your new owner."
"Owner?" Jimin tilts his head curiously. "Who?"
"Me." The human says, finally letting go of Seokjin's ear.
He pulls the freezer open and grabs a raw piece of meat from it, laying it on a simple plate. He grabs a bowl and rips open a package of nuts, shaking a few in and sliding it over for Jimin to eat.
"I've had hybrids before. Sadly they had the lifespan of their animal sides. I hope you two don't."
Jimin slowly comes over, sniffing the nuts before happily stuffing his mouth full, whilst Seokjin growls angrily, reaching for the meat, but the human slaps his hand away.
"Let it defrost."
"I'm hungry." Seokjin growls. "If you won't give me that than I'll just eat you both!"
The human smirks. "You're a rough one." He eyes the fox. "I like that."
°•●•°
There is noise of metal scraping against each other, whimpers and loud yells in pain.
"Come on! Harder!"
"I'll destroy you if I do."
"You're a scientist, if anything you can fix this!"
"That's right. A scientist. Not a biologist."
The two men grumble in annoyance at the pile of junk behind them.
The building completely burned to ash, eventually just stopped spreading.
The men are alive though. Both of them. But not unscathed.
Not... normal.
Namjion scowls at the shorter man who has his back turned, shirt off, and metal around them.
Sharp metal knife-like blades in the shape of little katana wings with a small needle and twister.
Namjoon woke up from the fire by Yoongi carrying him outside. Both of them are burned badly, scars never to be healed.
But worst and best parts have come to them.
All of their hard work may have been destroyed, but they worked hard to create what they wanted. And they succeeded.
As Namjoon had passed out, the ceiling fell on the wall that crumbled, allowing the bottles and tubes in the next room over to flip, spin and crash onto the ground.
Its liquid had slowly sucked into his skin, injecting himself.
The moment Yoongi found him, nearing death, he forced his body into it as he lifted the younger.
Both of them have accomplished what they wanted.
They had become hybrids. They mixed their DNA.
Yoongi was a proud owner of a pair of wings and claws with incredible senses and reaction speed.
Namjoon was owner of a pair of big hyena ears and tail, with sharp claws and an amazing sense of hearing and smell, including night vision.
They know their little subjects have escaped. But were they okay with that now that they were their species?
No.
Namjoon's first thought was one of revenge and blood. He wanted to get back to those annoying disobedient animals. Especially that fox.
Yoongi was out for the snake, ready to craw him open and take those scales.
And right now, they are preparing.
Namjoon uses his claws to rip the bottom two rows of wings out of the feathery mass, slowly replacing them with the blades.
He won't know if he'll be able to fly, but it doesn't matter. He'll be able to get to the fox.
As for the chinchilla. Both of them have a little bone to pick with him. Concerning... past experiences.
Over the hours as the moon reaches dawn, Namjoon is finally done.
Yoongi slowly flaps his wings, feeling the sting hurting him all over. But he doesn't care.
He tries to find his way, his balance, and angle. As soon as he feels the pressure, he starts pushing, letting himself get lifted by the wind.
He finds his muscles not yet used to the rough power, his wings shaking as he tries to stay in the air, even though it's barely flying.
Namjoon growls at him, telling him to fly. He slowly places tiny little drops of green onto the tips of his claws, smirking as he watches his partner learn.
The blades hold him from flying effortlessly, but with enough practice, he'll be just as good as a natural.
Maybe even better.
Yoongi looks back down at his partner, smirking as he feels the wind pressuring against his muscles.
"It's fine."
"At least I won't have to pull out any more. This was annoying to do."
The crow hybrid grins. "Well, you're a low-life hyena. Doesn't that prove that I'm better?"
Namjoon sneers a grow at him, ears tilting back. "Oh shut it."
"A male too. You know you're lowest of the lowest rank, right?"
"I said shut it!" Namjoon growls, baring his canine fangs with a threatening snarl. "Just because I am doesn't mean I'm incapable of hurting those pesky rats!"
"In contrary, I think you'll do amazing with your agression. There is no feline to stop you. Besides, did you know that hyena hybrids are the least favorite hybrid pets? You'll be unlikely seeing a female hyena."
Namjoon grins widely. "That only works in our favor."
Yoongi flaps his wings higher, looking out over a wide radius of the forest and city.
He frowns when he can't spot anything, his smell not being as good as Namjoon's.
"Can't find it?" Namjoon growls amused. "As expected from a birdie."
"I'll gouge your eyes out."
"I'll rip you to shreds."
As Yoongi lands back on the grass, he watches Namjoon's ears curiously turn and twitch.
"What do you hear?"
Namjoon stays quiet for a bit, seeming focused on his hearing until both of his ears perk up and he growls to the forest.
His ears tilt back, his tongue wetting his lips in hunger as he bares his fangs and claws at the palms of his hands, his tail flicking left and right.
"Food."
°•●•°
Seokjin scratches at the couch, bored out of his mind. The night is over, leaving him in broad daylight with the happily snooping chinchilla.
He got to eat his meat, but still. He hates it here. Being locked up like before.
He's a wild hybrid. Wild animals should stay that way.
He doesn't even know why he agreed to going here. He wants to find his pack.
He accidentally clicks on the remote, curiously sniffing it before hesitantly smacking it off the couch, squirming as he makes space for him to lay down.
The remote lands on the carpet with a thud, causing a curious Jimin to investigate it closer, smiling as he starts pressing every single button.
The big box in front of them flashes on, causing Seokjin to flinch up at it and Jimin to shriek in fear as he jumps behind the couch.
Seokjin tilts his head at it. "... It's the human."
"Our human?"
"... Your human."
Jimin pokes his head out. Indeed, on the big box is their caretaker displayed, being seen talking up close and far.
Seokjin's ears tilt back, growling loudly at the burned building behind them.
Jimin starts pressing buttons again, screaming once there is sound coming from it.
"As I understand, mister Jeon, there were hybrids within the facility. Will you investigate where they went?"
"I know where they are."
Jimin's ears perk up. "Don't tell them master!"
Seokjin looks at him. "Master?"
"... Alpha?"
"Just human."
"Human..." Jimin sighs.
"Although I won't say where and how. That's classified information. They are doing well, that is all I can say."
Seokjin frowns, his tail flicking. "Fool." He grumbles. "No matter if he tells where we are, those humans are dead."
Jimin tilts his head a little as Seokjin lays back down again. As the fox slowly falls asleep, he keeps watching the big box, where the human has disappeared and the reporter is left.
"The building was searched earlier this morning. Amongst the scraps and dangerous substances found, no bodies were discovered in the mess."
Jimin's blood runs cold, his ears dropping as he quickly wakes the fox with welling tears.
The fox wakes up with an annoyed growl, but the news leaves him in shock.
How...?
How did they survive?
Seokjin's ears perk, growling at the box. "I'll kill them both. Once and for all."
"No!"
"Don't start, Jimin."
"They survived something like that and they're insane! Who knows if they've escaped or burned to ashes? All we know is not to ever let our guard down..."
"I'm going back today." Seokjin huffs. "I'll sniff that place through for any scent."
"Jin, no!"
"My name is Seojin!" He screams. "You have no use to call me by a nickname! I'm going back! I want my pack! I'm not a pet!"
Seokjin growls loudly at the chinchilla hybrid, who squeaks and quickly hides behind the couch again.
Seokjin huffs angrily and gets out of the room, pulling the locked front door open with all his might and finally lashing out ad an approaching Jimin.
"I AM A WILD HYBRID!! Nothing can change who I am or what I am. Not even a stupid human like this one..."
Seokjin slams the door shut, kicking the lock on the ground away and running for the forest, to his home and those pesky humans.
°•●•°
Hoseok hisses at the human, playfully baring his fangs as he circles around him.
"You have one big tail, you know that?"
"I know." Hoseok smiles. "It's great for choking people with it."
"So you're not a poisonous snake?"
"My mom is so I got her venom. It doesn't work though. It's just something I use to scare them with... A condition from when I was little."
"Really?" Taehyung tilts his head. "Let me look."
"Why?"
The human smiles a little. "I used to be a doctor for hybrids like you. The dangerous kind."
Hesitantly, Hoseok opens his mouth, showing the human his fangs.
Taehyung lifts his lip slightly, looking around his gums and fangs, pressing down on the tips to draw the slightest drop.
"It's nothing I haven't seen before." He sighs. "Your venom is like your nerve system. Little vines here and there. They've disconnected and have probably been broken or misplaced. It can't be fixed but... It's nothing serious."
Hoseok smiles brightly at him. Until he lifts his head. He sniffs.
"... Why would he be here?"
"Who?"
Hoseok hisses at him, opening the front door only to snap his eyes to a familiar grey-tailed ronin.
"Jimin! What's the panic?"
The chinchilla cries out at the sight of Hoseok and immediately jumps into his arms, to which the snake hesitantly hugs back.
"So... what happened? How did you get here?"
"I forgot the way back... Seokjin is going to go back and find the humans... He's--"
"They're alive?"
Jimin nods.
Hoseok hisses loudly. "That bastard of a fox decided not to enlighten me?! I'm giving him a scolding before I kill those humans!"
"Hoseok!"
The snake turns and hisses to the human. "Stay out of this! This is not your business!"
Taehyung raises his sleeve, showing the slowly scarring mark of his fangs. "With this, I think this is very much my business."
Hoseok hisses at him again. "STAY OUT OF THIS!!"
"Hoseok! Get back in the house, now!!"
"No! I'm not your stupid pet!"
Hoseok grabs Jimin's hand tightly, hissing at the human before slithering away, forcing the smaller hybrid with.
"Hoseok! You're coming back right this instant!"
"No! Stay away from me and my business!"
"I gave you a roof and food! Is this my payback?!" Taehyung yells angrily. "Are you just leaving me?!"
"Did you expect me to stay?!" Hoseok scoffs, turning back around to him. "I have a sister to look for. I have a family to comfort. Unlike you, I have things to do."
Taehyung feels his heart jump into his throat. "You think I don't?" He sneers. "Your sister probably ran away for a good reason! Don't search for hopeless dreams!"
"Taehyung." Hoseok hisses loudly. "Let me go. I don't need you. I'm thankful for the food and the temporary stay, but I can't stay." His tone softens. "I have a family... I don't belong here."
Taehyung sighs deeply. "I know... I know..."
Hoseok looks back at Jimin, who avoids any part of the conversation.
"Goodbye, Taehyung."
The human stays silent, watching as Hoseok slithers away, chinchilla by his side, his heart not able to let go.
With a deep sigh, he shuts the door, laying his head against it.
"Goodbye, Hoseokie..."
°•●•°
"SHOW YOURSELF!!"
Seokjin screams out, growling loudly. The remains still smell. He can smell some different scents.
They just don't smell like the humans at all.
Nonetheless its a trail. He's been following it for hours but he's found nothing.
His nose is probably dying from not being able to find anything. Until he raises his nose.
It's close.
That smell of metal and rough fur.
"COME OUT!!"
"You really did come back..."
"What a fool."
"I don't know whether to find you stupid or determined."
"Perhaps both... Shall I end him?"
"No. He's mine."
Seokjin immediately runs forward as soon as he hears the approaching growl, turning to watch as his attacker lands on the ground.
His eyes widen in fear when he sees the two hyena ears twitch in annoyance as he glares up at the fox.
"You!"
"Me." The scientist grins darkly. "Where are your little friends? Did they leave you?"
Seokjin jumps away, barely missing the second attack.
"I left them!"
"Oh, how so? Trying to find that poor little family of yours?"
"No!" Seokjin growls, lunging in for an attack of his own. "I was finding you to kill you! I am wild!!"
"Guess what, fox boy." Namjoon laughs, showing off his sharp canine fangs. "So am I!"
Seokjin's eyes widen when Namjoon's teeth latch onto his exposed neck, feeling them sink into his skin.
The scientist's eyes widen for a single moment before he smirks, biting down harder.
As most dangerous animals are...
Once they tasted blood, they'll never want anything else.
"Let go..."
Namjoon growls. "Why would I?" He says against his skin. "Your blood... tastes so good."
"I know it does." Seokjin growls. "But please, let go." He huffs. "If you know what its like you should know how I feel."
"How to hunt is your problem. I have my prey."
"A carnivore cannot be another carnivore's prey."
"Watch me."
Seokjin growls loudly, ready to skin him alive, but Namjoon doesn't let go of his skin.
The hyena hybrid glares up at him, cheeks dusting a little pink at the sharp glare the fox has to the city as he carefully lets go, smirking at his mark.
"Do you miss them?"
"Why would I...?" Seokjin scoffs. "You took me from the wild, they told me to stay away from my family... I used to be a fox. I wouldn't let anyone tell me what to do. Yet here I am... coming back to kill a man who just... became a hybrid?"
"It all seems impossible, doesn't it?"
Seokjin nods sadly. "I just wish this never happened and I was still home."
Namjoon looks at him. "We never took your family. Only you. If you want... I can bring you back. But under one condition."
"Why would you?" Seokjin snarls. "I came to kill you."
"As did I, but here we are. Talking. Perhaps we aren't as different as you think."
"I am nothing like you."
"Think about it, fox." Namjoon growls. "You're a carnivore, as am I. We both tasted blood, we are both out to kill one another. More importantly, we are independent."
Seokjin glares at him. "What are you implying?"
"I'm a human by nature, born and raised. I hated my life like that." Namjoon growls. "I wasn't special. I had no talents. I was just... there."
The fox hybrid tilts his ears in interest.
"But then I met Yoongi... He and I felt the same way. We didn't belong in these human bodies. So we dedicated our lives to becoming hybrids. And... we succeeded. I hated you in the moment I captured you for resisting. I forgot that you weren't like me."
Seokjin frowns at him. "How can a human be this stupid?"
"I didn't think." Namjoon sighs. "I just wanted my dream to come true. My parents, my sister, my entire family believed I couldn't do it. That it was impossible."
Namjoon looks away, hands clenching to fists at the memories. Seokjin just stares at him.
"I don't know what it's like to be human." He says softly. "And frankly, I don't care. From what I know from you, you're all selfish creatures. Thinking about yourself and not realizing what your change and dreams do for those around you."
Namjoon scowls at him. "What was important to them doesn't matter anymore. What happened happened and I'm happy with the results."
Seokjin rolls his eyes. "I'm just saying. I really don't care what you do from here."
Namjoon cocks his head at him. "Why did you really come back?"
"To kill you."
"The truth, fox."
Seokjin looks at him. "What truth? That is the truth."
"You want to see your pack again."
"Of course I do."
"But that's not the reason, isn't it?"
Seokjin sighs. "This conversation is going nowhere." He growls, running away from him.
But Namjoon follows him, his new hyena instincts also increasing his stamina.
Seokjin growls at him to leave him alone, but Namjoon doesn't give up. The harder Seokjin runs, the faster Namjoon gets.
It's like he's not even human anymore.
Seokjin feels hunted.
He slides to a stop, grabbing Namjoon's arms and growling at him. "Will you stop?!"
Namjoon growls at him. "Don't you realize what has happened?!"
"I know what you did isn't natural! You took me from my family! MY FAMILY!!"
"And I realize that I was wrong!" Namjoon screams. "Fox, you have to trust me... I'm happy now! I did this to become happy..."
"Happy you're happy, but Yoongi isn't! He's after the snake! He is going to kill him!"
"Do I look like I care?!"
"Fox, it's for humanity and hybrid kind... Please. The snake won't trust me..."
Seokjin growls at him. "He won't find him."
"How's that?"
"I told him you didn't die. He got mad and went to find him."
"God... Fox, Yoongi asked me to replace his wings with knives! I pulled out his feathers! He'll cut him in half!"
Seokjin glares at him. "You really don't get it, do you?" He snarls. "It's not them I'm concerned about! I have family! I barely know them!"
Namjoon looks at him, eyes wide and pleading. "Please... I'll do anything, but I don't want the death of a hybrid on my friend's hands before he gets even more revengeful."
Seokjin sighs deeply. "Fine! But after I'm done, I'm going to my family. You won't bother me ever again."
"Promise."
Nodding, Seokjin grabs Namjoon's arm and pulls him with, running back towards where he watched Jimin run. But what he does notice is the flying shadow, constantly nearing the city.
"That's him! That's Yoongi!"
"What an idiot. Flying over with no cover."
Just then, the shadow dives down into the city, and both hybrids quickly catch a scent of nature.
Blood.
Namjoon takes a quiet moment to sniff during their sprint, his chest cavity tightens, his lungs clenching together. He digs his nails into Seokjin's skin, baring his fangs.
His pupils shrink into slits before forming tiny circles, his flicks his tongue over his fangs, his ears tilting as he flicks his tail.
Seokjin feels the clenching, looking back at the hyena hybrid, smirking a little.
"We're similar, hyena."
Namjoon growls at him, a string of saliva hanging from his fangs. "Don't get me hungry, fox."
"Please." Seokjin growls, baring his own fangs. "I know what its like to smell blood. I hunt on it. I am bred, born, made for this. I am a hunter, hyena. And clearly, so are you."
Namjoon lets out a loud growl, pulling his claws from Seokjin's bleeding skin and glaring at the older hybrid with maniacal hyena laughter.
Seokjin replies with a foxy shriek of his own, chasing after the speeding predator.
When Seokjin was little he remembered going ballistic when he smelled blood. He was a sneaky one. A rebellious little hybrid.
But he was a hunter. That night he came home with three rabbits.
And tonight, he hunts birds.

"You and I have unfinished business, you snake!"
Hoseok hisses at him, protecting the bleeding human behind him. "You have absolutely no respect or sense of loss!"
"What loss?!" Yoongi laughs. "I already won!"
"You flying bastard, what the hell do you want from me!" Taehyung grunts, holding onto his side, shirt stained in red.
Yoongi cocks his head and folds his wings, using one of them to point at the human. "It's no business with you that I want." He smirks, pointing his wing at Hoseok. "It's you. You almost killed me once before, but I'll do it to you! Over and over until you'll beg me to stop!"
"You're insane!"
"I'm a biologist, not insane."
"Little help! I'm quite literally bleeding to death!"
Hoseok, wraps the end of his tail around Taehyung's waist, putting pressure on the wound to hold it from bleeding out.
"What do you want from me." Hoseok hisses. "Leave my human alone."
"Your human?" Taehyung grins.
"Shut up."
Yoongi burst into laughter, spreading his wings. "I want you to suffer as much as I did during the time you choked me. But worse."
Hoseok hisses loudly. "You are insane!"
"And I thought humans sucked."
"They do."
Hoseok opens his mouth to snap at Yoongi, when he ducks down at the hybrid lunging at him, avoiding the sharp knives.
Yoongi shrieks at him loudly, causing a few annoyed people to open their windows to see what is going on.
Hoseok gulps a little. "How and why...? I wanted to find my sister! You took me! Why do you think I wanted to kill you?! I never meant for it!"
"Sure you didn't!" Yoongi laughs. "That's why you strangled me!"
"I was panicking!"
"You better do it again now!"
Yoongi spreads his wings, launching himself into the air, but he's pulled down again by an annoying little critter.
The hybrid looks down angrily at the chinchilla biting his leg, a disappointed glare turned to him.
"Let go of me you ronin!"
"Let my friends go!"
Yoongi growls, kicking Jimin in his face, causing the hybrid to suddenly let go and drop to the tiled floor with a loud pained scream.
Hoseok immediately rushes up to get him off the floor, still keeping pressure on Taehyung's wound.
"Human, do you have a help force?" Hoseok hisses, holding the crying chinchilla hybrid close to him.
"Yeah, my phone's in my pocket." Taehyung grunts.
"Owner!" Jimin whines. "Owner was a cop!"
"Your owner?" Hoseok glances around. "Where?"
"He took me and Jin in... Around the center of the city..."
"That's too far." Taehyung sighs. "This is the outer rim of the city."
"Just give me god damn phone!!" Hoseok yells angrily, holding out his hand, only now realizing the warm drops.
He looks down, blood coating his hand.
"Now, Tae! His head is bleeding!"
"My WHAT?!"
Taehyung reaches for his phone, shakily punching in the numbers when a pale hand snatches his phone from his hands.
Hoseok hisses loudly at the winged hybrid, who laughs and dangles the phone in his hand.
"Want this little thing?" He smirks. "What if I break it? Will you kill me?"
"Just give it! He needs help! They both do!"
"And you think I care?!" Yoongi shrieks. "No! I don't! I had something to prove! None of you did!"
"Do you want to lose lives over selfishness, hyung?"
Yoongi's eye twitches, turning around at a familiar voice. He smirks a little.
"Joon... You came to help me-- Why is he still alive?"
Yoongi glares at the fox with a hateful scowl, but the fox returns it in seconds. The tension between them is clearly rising when Seokjin looks at the bleeding human and the chinchilla hybrid, seeing Hoseok hissing loudly.
"You really fell low for a crow hybrid." Seokjin huffs. "Pulling out your own feathers for something you will have no use of."
Yoongi scoffs at him. "And you, fox? Was Namjoon too weak to kill you?"
"I was planning to." Namjoon growls at him. "But him and I have much alike. I realized your actions were wrong as well as mine. I am happy with my current situation. Why aren't you?"
"CAN'T YOU SEE?!!" Yoongi shrieks at him. "These... These monsters have ruined my family! They ruined me! I thought becoming a hybrid would have me see them for what they really are and now I can! I can feel the instincts crawling in my veins, and for those like you two, that's dangerous."
Namjoon frowns. "How so? All I do is go after what I smell. The blood you shed was unnecessary. You made me give in to my instincts for what I felt."
"We hunted." Seokjin mumbles. "And I got to admit that for a hyena, he's a good hunter. But he's right. You shouldn't go this far."
"Your family loved you, Yoongi. What changed? How can we help?" Namjoon grabs his hand, slowly taking the phone from it and handing it to Seokjin.
Yoongi looks up at him, scowling. "I don't need help. I'm fine. I see what the truth has hidden!"
"Yoongi hyung!"
"You can't make me!"
"Seokjin, call the number." Namjoon growls, baring his fangs. "Tell whoever is on to get here asfast as possible, to Seoul's outside criminal streets at 43, and--"
Namjoon groans out in pain when Yoongi lunges against him, pushing him away against the walls of the house, letting the hyena fall to the ground from the rooftops.
He hears his shoulder crack, howling in pain, looking up at Yoongi with big angry eyes.
Yoongi smirks down at him, watching as Namjoon's pupils shrink, his fangs bared, anger taking over him.
Seokjin immediately presses the call, growling at Yoongi as the hybrid lunges at him.
Seokjin manages to hold up long enough before the police arrive, Yoongi angrily turning at them.
There is hatred in his eyes for his former partner as he's strapped in and taken away.
Hoseok sighs in relief when Taehyung's wound is taken care of and Jimin also taken for care.
Namjoon is inspected, only to find a dislocated shoulder.
Yoongi screams out as his wings and hands are strapped behind him, being forced into the car by five officers.
Including a very familiar one.
"Long time no see, fox." The officer grins. "You ran away so desperately."
Seokjin rolls his eyes. "Shut it. I hate being locked up. I'm a wild fox, not a pet to keep... Thanks for the food though..." He mumbles shyly.
Jungkook chuckles. "You're free to go if you want. This isn't your crime. It's his." He points at a screeching Yoongi.
Seokjin nods, looking back at Hoseok, who's inspected thoroughly. And at the alleyway, where Namjoon is getting questioned.
"What a stupid hybrid..."
"Why's that?"
"He went and begged me to help. Yet I'm the only one uninjured. He got me involved for nothing." Seokjin huffs.
"You called, didn't you?"
"Yeah, so?"
"Without you, none of them would have survived."
Seokjin's ears drop a little. None of them. Not the snappy Hoseok or determined Jimin or stubborn Namjoon and that human.
If Namjoon hadn't called him to come with, Yoongi would've won.
Jungkook pats his shoulder, smiling at him before going back to help Yoongi shut his mouth.
Seokjin sighs deeply, looking down. He looks at each of the hybrids and the human.
He's glad they're safe, but he doesn't want to stay. With a slight nod at the officers and Namjoon, he escapes the scene and runs back into the forest to find his family.

Seokjin growls deeply, readying his claws for the kill. He's back home, happy and hunting.
Currently chasing a deer, he prepares to lunge in to take it down.
But a shadowy figure pushes the deer away with a loud growl, the deer whining in pain as it breathes its last breath.
Seokjin growls at the coward who stole his kill, ears twitching and mouth closing into a smile at the familiar hybrid.
The hyena smiles back at him with bloodied claws and canines, offering the fox a piece of flesh.
"Long time no see, fox."
