That moment when you realize that you will never see your fellow Gilmore Girls fan again.....

And then you realize that you're soulmate is going to be Mister Tall, Dark, Literature-loving, Loyal AF, Rebel with a Heart of Gold, and Handsome. Then it says his name will be Jess.

I mean look at him!

Okay yeah, that was him back in '01. But keep going.

Jess back in '06 and '07. And can I just say that it has been like five years in between the time Jess dated Rory and he NEVER forgot her birthday, NEVER dated anyone else (at least how the show puts it anyway), he ALWAYS put her back on track, and was always there for her. Can we please digest that? Also, he was her intellectual equal and bested Logan when it came to literature academia. Not to mention he could hold his own in a fight with Dean, yet matured throughout the series to not fight with anyone (even Dean) when they got on his nerves. He never cheated on Rory when they were together or used her to cheat on someone else like some people... *cough* Logan Huntzberger *cough*. Plus, his sarcasm was/is amazing, he never gives up, and his taste in music is brilliant.

Jess in 2016. He is still there for Rory no matter what. He is still her intellectual, movie, and musically diversed-ish equal, and he still plays her vouce of reason that helps her gets her life together for the third(?) time.... and he still loves her. He loves her enough to let her go.

That is how you know that not only has he grown up, but he has changed for the better.

I want someone like that.

I want my soulmate to be the real Jess Mariano.
