There are many reasons I love The Monkees: their music;their show is from the 60s; their sense of humour. But the main reason I love them is their friendship.

When I watch The Monkees, I am no longer the mental loner who talks to herself, but one of The Monkees. I am a desperate long-haired musician trying to pay the rent, stop Davy falling in love, and romping on a beach in Malibu.

I'm finally in a friendship with people just like me:crazy. All they want to do is have fun and it's just so groovy. All I want to do is be one of them [preferably Micky]. That way I'd have friends who are like me [wacky and weird] but are still true to themselves.

That's the main reason I watch The Monkees, because it finally means I have four loyal best friends, who are always there for me, ready to battle Wizard Glick, monsters, machines and Mr Babbit.
