Beom

It's finally the day of the concert. And let me tell you that the days leading up to the concert have been hell. Practices day and night, the training classes in between, stress on messing up, and not to mention the constant worry of having 6 boys show up at the doorstep of home. Jin-oppa and I agreed that for this week, I shouldn't come home and eat dinner with him because, first of all, the amount of work and stress that have been building up today, and also so that just in case bangtan decided to show up, I wouldn't be there to deal with all that. Although Jungkook knows my secret, I feel like I shouldn't let anyone else know.

But today, thankfully, we get to sleep in. And when I mean sleep in, I mean until 9. Well, really, 9 is when manager-nonna came in to try to wake us up, and 10 is when we really woke up.

Anyways, once we got to the stadium then begun our live interviews. The first set of interviews was for Geode. Highlights include:

"How have things been working out?"

Me: Terribly- (gets jabbed by Mok who has an award-winning smile on her face) Um... Terribly well. Everything is great. More than what I could have asked for.

Mok: As trainees, we never truly realized the responsibilities that an actual idol has, so we are still trying to figure things out. Please bear with us and be kind to us as we make our way into this idol world! To all the R.E's (Raw Emeralds are the fandom name... for more explanation check out the introduction) out there thank you so much. We are super grateful.

Bomi: That's right. We love you more than I love food.

"Wow, then that must be a lot. Many of our viewers were wondering about your celebrity crushes/girl crushes."

Everybody except Mok: Our leader....Mok!

Mok: W-w-what!

Bomi: I'm just kidding. I really like La Miran. I don't know how many of you have watched Sister Slam Dunk Season 1... but La Miran seems to pull off everything so effortlessly, and she seems to be good at everything. Ace! Ace! Ace!

Minny: I'm also kidding. I honestly love Kim Yuna. I mean who doesn't after seeing her skate?

Me: Actually, I'm not kidding. I love Mok so much. I mean you just need to taste her cooking to fall in love. I'm sure that she will be a very good wife to the person she ends up with. 

Mok: Although I do love my members, and Beom, saranghae. However, I think that my girl crush would be Jessi. She is just so confident with who she is, yet she has her soft and cute points.

"Okay, so we do know your stage names, Minny, Mok, Bomi, and B... We can easily see where Minny, Mok and Bomi get their names from, but Beom, why don't you explain your stage name."

Me: Well originally, I was going to keep my stage name as Beom, however as some of the viewers may know, my twin brother, also named Beom from BTS was announced first and stole my name. So I decided to go with my back up stage name B. I decided to go with B because that is the closest I will ever get to the Queen B, Beyonce.

" Please, tell me: What was your reaction to having 6 million views on your debut album's title track Succumb's MV?

Minny: Honestly, I felt rather relieved. Knowing that our debut title track has been so successful helped me sleep better. We first worked really hard on the song and tried to find a catchy beat. Then we built the song's complexity with the melody and the lyrics. Each note and each word was carefully selected to fit the mood of the album. And then came all the hours of practice for the dance. Trying to find the perfect moves that look well and match the mood and words of the song is rather hard. Then finally comes the costume designing, the shootings, and all the glitz and glam stuff. To have everything you worked for and trained for the last 5 years to finally pay off, it's an incredible feeling of relief.

"Now while we are sort of on the topic of your album, do you want to talk about your concept?"

Mok: Ya sure. The lyrics of Succumb portray how obsessing too much over how we look, and how others perceive us can hurt us. In the teaser video, the main video of the angel (who was played by Bomi) is interrupted by flashes of darker images of a darker world with the record scratch and screeches...In the title track music video, Succumb, you have a pure maiden, an apprentice to the angels, who succumbs to the dark side. She is so worried about how the angels see her because she wants to be upgraded to get her wings. She starts off by doing more things to help the other angels, but little by little she starts doing bigger and bigger things. She will do anything to get her wings, including evil deeds. She partners with the fallen angels because they promised her that they would be able to help her get her wings. She forgets who she is, and becomes obsessed with creating the image of her own goodness, helping out the fallen angels even though she knows the things that she does are wrong. The angels have taken her in to be their apprentice because they loved her personality, and who she was, and so when they find out all the evil deeds that they have done, the angels are willing to forgive her. However, when she commits the unforgivable act of killing her fellow apprentices to be the only one for the angels to choose to promote, the angels are unable to forgive her and thus throw her out of heaven. 

Minny: That's right, the whole album revolves around the question: what happens when you lose yourself and become another person to please people. Clearly, the angel was a great and beautiful person for the angels to pick her to become an apprentice. However, she decides to change herself to become what she believes to be more desirable to the angels. This desire to become someone else changes her and ultimately leads to her downfall.

Me: We want to let R.E know that they should be happy with who they are, and they don't need to change themselves just to fit in. You don't need to lighten your skin, you don't need to straighten your hair to fit in. You don't need to ashamed your sexuality. You don't need to be unhappy because of your race. You are perfect as you are, and don't let yourself or anyone else tell you differently. I'm sure that the people around you love you for who you are.

Bomi: And if not, we will always love you for who you are! Saranghae my Raw Emeralds!

"Normally rookie groups don't really get a say in big decisions, but it sounds like all of you have been extremely invested in the choices made for this debut. Can you tell us a little bit more about those choices?"

Mok: Well, PD Bang nim has always believed that what the artist wants should come first. For example, if you look at our elders, BTS, then you can see that BigHit truly values what the artists it supports want. I mean, look at Min Yoongi's mixtape. How often do you see artists talk about mental health to the same degree as he did? How often do you see members producing their own music? Did you hear that even Jungkook is getting his own studio?

Bomi: I can't wait until Jungkook releases stuff. He no longer needs to call his productions Golden Closet Production, even though we all love the joke behind it. Did you hear that Justin Bieber said that he wouldn't mind doing a collab with BTS!?! Wouldn't that be amazing? Imagine JK and JB meeting!

Minny: (tries to ignore Bomi's fangirling moment) but we did have a hand in producing our music. We tried to find melodies and beats that we found to suit our tone and voice best... and the lyrics...well for the lyrics we try to make them relatable to us as possible. Afterall, how would we be able to sing and put emotion to the lyrics if we could not relate to them?

Mok: And for costumes... well let's just say that Beom here actually helped design the costumes. Care to explain more about it?

Me: Well these costumes are actually my pride and joy. I have been working on them for a while now, but to be honest, I can't disclose too much about them right now because I want to keep them a surprise. So please look out for them during our performances, which will be in the first part of the official Big Hit concert today!

"How close are you to BTS?"

Everyone looks at me for this question, and I gulp. Of course, this question would have had to be asked.

Me: Well I'm sure that most of you watching know that I am Jin and Beom's Dongsang, so I would say that I am rather close to my family members.

"But what about the other members?"

Me: Well... umm...

 I don't know how to answer this question. Mok senses my hesitation and jumps in for me.

Mok: Well we have all know each other for a very long time. Jin and I actually went to school together, and so I know him rather well, even though I'm sure he might say differently. So when BTS was first debuting we often talked about it a lot together. It was always my dream to debut as an idol and having my best friend go through it first truly helped me with my own process.

Mok looks into the camera and points her finger.

Mok: Seokjin, if you are watching this, you still have my whisk. Stop being a whisk taker, and get your own.

She smirks at her own pun on being a risktaker. But to be honest, Jin-oppa is the opposite of a risk taker most of the time. It's just that for some reason our whisks seem to disappear. Maybe it has something to do with the pets we had. In fact, I should make a graph to show the relationship between the number of whisks we lost, and the number of pets we have at home.

"Now that we are on the topic of family, Beom, how do you feel about Jin's break and your twin's recruitment to join BTS?"

Before I can say anything, Minny jumps in.

Minny: I think that I can say that we were all surprised that Beom... not this Beom, her twin... was chosen to take Jin's place. I'm not saying that we were surprised because he lacks talent, it's just a shock because we never expected him to come into the public's eye. He's a shy boii, so please support him.

Bomi: It's safe to say that all of us in Geode know Beom's twin rather well. He is a really good brother and often comes to our practices to check on his sister. Although it would be even better if he brought food when he came to visit... but then again, if he brought food everytime he visited, we would be fat.

I nudge Bomi.

Me: I'm also pretty sure that you would bleed his wallet dry if you made him get you food that often.

She sighs, leaning into me.

Bomi: But I'm sure that your brother loves us enough to get us a cake at the end of the week today. I mean, since we are so close to him, and know some of his secrets.

Damn, although she may be innocent at times, she really knows how to work things for her advantage. Looks like my members will be getting a free cake at the end of the week.

And then there were interviews that Mok and RM had to do together as the responsible parents of our groups. Also, their interviews were put in to give me time to change. 

But of course, I'm watching the interview up on my phone...

"So here we have the leaders of the kpop groups that will be performing today."

 Both of them wave, and smile and look charming.

The interviewer laughs, "Yes, hello. What are you most excited for the concert?"

They both look at each other, wanting to speak. Namjoon makes a motion to let her go first.

Mok: I think that I am personally most excited for our debut stage.

RM: Ohh ya, I forgot that this is going to be your first live performance.

Mok nods her head.

Mok: Yes it is. But I think that I'm also certainly nervous. But after all, since the chemical reactions in the body for feeling nervous and excited is the same, and it's just the mindset that is different, so I'm just going to say that I am very excited.

RM: I think that I am most excited for the collabs that are coming up between our groups.

"Wow, I'm sure that a lot of people will be looking forward to the collabs. But what is your favorite food?"

RM: Meat

Everybody in the changeroom, even the makeup artists repeat after him... "Meat"

Mok: Meat

Wow even Mok is repeating after him as well. (A/n please look for this video on Instagram, it literally made me laugh really hard... I couldn't find it, so I didn't put it in.)

"We should get some MeAT." I chuckle. 

"How prepared do you feel for this concert?"

RM: I think that it is safe to say that all of our members have worked really hard. I hope that the hours of practice we put into our performance will show to all of our fans later today.

Mok: I think Namjoon has said it all, and very eloquently as always.

"What member do you think has worked the hardest for this comeback/debut"

Both of them at the same time: Beom

"w-W-What!" I exclaim as the makeup-noonas hurry and flutter around me. 

RM: Beom is the newest addition to the group, and has been working super hard to catch up. Even though he is talented enough, he sometimes feels as if he is good enough, even though he is. 

Mok: Beom, the twin of Beom... why their parents agreed to have their names the same, I will never know. *(Here Mok throws a glare at Namjoon) Wow, I feel like I should use her stage name when we are talking about Geode's Beom so that we don't get confused. Okay, so B. But recently B has been working very hard, and she even fainted from exhaustion and lack of food two weeks ago. 

RM: What!

Mok continues on: So if she is watching this, and I know she is, she better had got a good night's rest tonight after the concert, and if not, you are going to be taking a nap later young lady.

RM: I can't believe she didn't tell me that

Mok: But why would she.

RM: Well it's more like that like...I'm surprised that Beom didn't tell me because I noticed that something was off a couple of weeks ago. And we all know how close the Beom siblings are. He was probably worried about his sister, and he didn't tell any of the members about it.

I literally have to roll my eyes. Man, RM almost let it slip that the Beoms are the same person. How can ARMY and RE's not pick up that B and Beom are the same person? Well, I'm sure that they are theories out there... I just haven't bothered to check.

"The two of you seem rather familiar. We do know that Geode did help BTS out with the highlight reel. How well do you know each other?"

Mok: I would say that although we aren't very close, we have worked together a couple of times. I honestly wouldn't mind going somewhere to eat to brainstorm some ideas for our groups.

RM: That sounds like it would be a really fun and productive session. Actually, why don't we all go out for dinner? Like BTS and Geode.

Mok: Sure. Sounds like a plan. Actually, why stop at BTS and Geode, we should invite the staff as well. You know what, let me go reserve the whole restaurant. Excuse me. RM I'm trusting you to finish off the interview.

And with that Mok whips out her phone, and moves out of the frame. The camera angle switches, and we see Mok off in the corner on the phone calling someone. The camera angle switches back to Namjoon and the interviewer. 

"Soooooo... I hope that you will have a good dinner later on... but while we are waiting to hear about the results of the phone call, let's get BTS in here!"

And with that, the noonas all push me out of the room. "That's your cue," The makeup-noona that always works with me whispers to me. I nod to her gratefully.

As I'm heading down to the interview, I cross paths with Jimin.

"Heading to the interview?" he grins at me. "leader-Hyung did a good job didn't he?"

"Yep. Both of them did a good job."

"Congrats on your shout out... to you and your sister. I can't wait to see her later during the dinner."

"Haha...ya she's going to be there during dinner. I'm going to be there during dinner. You're going to be there during dinner. Geode is going to be there during dinner. BTS is going to be there for dinner. The staff is going to be there for dinner." I say thinking through things out loud.

"Ummm... ya. That's what Mok meant by the dinner. She wants everybody there I think."

Shoot... More switching between the male and female version of myself. Tonight is going to be a busy night... and not just because of the concert. 

"But I'm excited to see your sister again."

"R-r-really?" My heart speeds up a little bit. My ultimate bias excited to see me?

We get right outside the interview room.

"Ya... she's um... really cute."

"Who's really cute?" Tae arrives and slings his arms over both of our shoulders.

"Beom's-"

"Ya Beom, you are pretty cute!" Tae pinches my cheeks.

I laugh, "Thanks Tae."

"No problem" he finger guns at me.

"No, I was going to say that although you are pretty cute Beom, Beom's sister is pretty-"

"Beom's sister is what? Jungkook asks coming over and fixing my collar. 

"cute." Jimin finishes, and Jungkook's grip on collar tightens. I reach over to smooth his blazer, which causes him to snap out of whatever trance he was in.

Manager-hyung opens the door to the interview room right as Hobi and Suga arrive. "Everyone ready for this interview? Please don't say anything stupid this time around. Think about your image."

"Yes sir!" we all chorus. I do a little salute.

"Okay then. Get in there and make us all proud!" and with that Manager-hyung motions us in.

"Hello!  We are now back from the break from our sponsors and we are joined by BTS! Before we start the BTS segment of the interview, let's check on Mok."

The camera pans to Mok, and she gives a thumbs up.

"Looks like BTS and Geode will have a good dinner after their exciting concert! Okay, and now... onto the interview."

RM: Hello we are...

Everybody: BTS!

"Okay, so I'm just going to go straight into the question that I know all ARMY want to be answered. Beom, how does it feel to be a part of BTS?!"

Me: Well honestly it feels like a dream. I have been watching these guys on screen ever since they debuted. With Jin-hyung part of this group, their songs and videos were constantly streamed thanks to our proud... proud parents. Now standing here with this amazing group seems surreal. I wasn't even planning on becoming a male idol at all, yet here I am.

Jungkook chuckles and rests his arm on my shoulder.

Jungkook: Really? Becuase I think that you were made to be an idol. Look at you, you're practically a natural at doing interviews.

I laugh, after all, I am only one question into the interview with BTS, so let's see how natural I can be...I'm probably going to fall on my face or fall of my chair or lose my balance or do something stupid now.

"Well looks like you are getting on rather well with the members... Beom, who do you think you are the closest to?"

Me: I would like to say... Jungkook-ah. Probably because we are the closest in age. 

Jungkook brings me in closer, and rubs my head affectionately... wait... did I use the word affectionate to describe an action that Jungkook did to me?! Impossible.

RM: That's right. Our old maknae is making sure that our new one knows all the ways to annoy us.

Jungkook and I both grin cheekily at that statement.

Jungkook: I'm sure all of the hyungs would agree to that.

And with that statement, everybody groans.

"So Jungkook, did you ever find out the name of your celebrity crush?"

Hello lovely human beans~

Okay, so happy easter (for those who celebrate it), and have/ and are having hope you had an enjoyable Passover!

I'm sorry but I haven't been writing as much as I have been wanting too, so next week, I'm not going to post a new chapter.

OMG Burn the Stage has me shook and crying. So like on Tuesdays I laugh and awww so much, and then on Wednesday I cry and hold my breath in anticipation so much.
