Dog on a Mission
The whole dinner is like this: Jin-oppa is giving me a confused look, Du-Ho is smirking at me because I needed to set Jackson's place, and me, glaring at Jackson, who is helping himself to multiple servings at a time.
Once dinner is over... which is really when Jackson finishes off all the food, I get up and bring the dishes... the huge load of dishes... to the kitchen, and put them in the sink.
"Your guest, your dishes." Du-Ho drops his dishes into the sink.
"hEY!" I yell at him. "I'm not doing your dishes on top of all of Jackson's" But Du-Ho keeps on ignoring me. I look around for Jin-oppa, but he is nowhere to be found.
Groaning, I pull on rubber gloves and get to work.
Halfway through, it seems like my pile of dishes needing to dry slowly starts to shrink. Weird, maybe there is some weird force helping me out here. I won't question it. I'm just going to shut up and be grateful. But, bless you mysterious spirit.
Eventually the pile of dishes clear enough for a towel armed Jackson to emerge.
"Wow... it wasn't a spirit...you're actually helping with your own monstrous pile of dishes." I look at him amazed. "If I was paired with Taehyung to do the dishes, then he would just make me do everything and take on the role of "entertaining me" because apparently, that is a role when cleaning dishes."
Jackson chuckles and then holds a dish up to the light to see how clean it is. "And you didn't miss a spot."
"What?" I scoff, "You think that I haven't learned how to wash dishes properly? With brothers like Jin and Du-Ho, you need to do the dishes fast and well. If we leave the dishes in the sink for even one night, we'll run out of clean dishes for the next day."
"But like, you have so many dishes," Jackson asks a little bit in awe, a little bit worried.
"Ya but, Jin-Oppa likes his side dishes, and his main meals, and his desserts. Well, not really just him, all of us really." I say passing him the next dish to dry.
"I'd have to say that I like them too." He says shaking his head to move his hair out of his eyes as he continued to dry the dishes. "Namjoon-hyung was right. Jin's home cooked meals are the best."
I raise my eyebrows at him, "Let's keep this dishwashing session to mild usless small talk. Don't bring up something that will make me leave you to do all the dishes."
Jackson looks at the pile still in the sink and gulps, "No of course. I wouldn't dream of it. T-t-t-teamwork to make the dream work amirite?"
I laugh at him, "Don't worry, I would leave my "guest" to do the dishes alone. I'm not that cruel." Jackson looks relieved knowing that he won't have to finish the dishes if I storm out on him. "But please, indulge me. Why were you following me home."
He pales even more, "Ummm- ya- you- the- the thing is that I was really wanted to go...to the 7-11! Ya the 7-11 that is just down the street. Did you know that there is a 7-11 down the street? Because there is you know. I remember seeing it. No, actually I was in it, so of course, I would know that there is a 7-11-"
"down the street," we say at the same time.
"Ya. I know. I live here. What kind of active citizen would I be if I didn't know that I have a 7-11 down the street? You have no idea how many last minute things I bought from there. I can tell you that the curry porkchop Udon is very good, and you can even heat it up in the shop. But if you realize that you are missing a makeup product, I wouldn't suggest buying it from 7-11 because your makeup artist can probably help you out there." I tell him scrubbing away.
"Ya, I'll make sure to remember that next time I run out of my favorite lipstick."
"Hey! Don't make fun of me!"
"I'm not making fun of you. I'm just saying that if I run out of my favorite lipstick, then I know to not go to a 7-11"
I pout, "I know that you're making fun of me.'
Jackson just laughs even more. "No. I'm serious."
"Fine then, what is your favorite lipstick?"
"Well let's see..." he begins and then says under his breath, "What's the one that is in that song... EXO'S Lotto... Lipstick chateau wine colored." Triumphantly he raises his hand, and points his finger at me, "Lipstick Chateau! That's the one"
"Congrats on naming a random lipstick brand." I scoff at his triumphant face and finger in my face. "But," I remove my hand from the rubber glove. "I don't think that you are wearing anything remotely wine colored on your lips right now." and with that, I swipe my fingers across his mouth. It's my turn to triumphantly fingers to his face. "They're clean. No traces of your favorite lipstick."
"Hey you didn't even give me a chance to-"
"I don't need to give you a chance Mr. Wang. I already proved my point."

Time Skip
After we finished with the dishes, I invited Jackson to the living room. There was a bit of an awkward atmosphere because I knew that despite all the small talk and bickering that had happened, at some point we will have to discuss why he is really here. Because we all know that the reason is not to eat good free food and bicker with me about lipstick.
"So..." I begin.
"So," Jackson states with a straight face
"Are we-"
"We are."
"Can I just fin-"
"No."
"Jackson just let me-"
"bring me some tea? That would be amazing. Thanks. Do you have any green tea? I like mine with a touch of honey"
"No, I don't think that-"
"you're very smart? I agree. Not to be offensive, but sometimes you can come across as very dull."
"Jackson! I'm just trying to-"
"take a selfie with me shirtless. All you had to do was ask honey."
Jackson moves to take his shirt off, and I wrinkle my nose and turn away. "No just please anything but that." but of course he doesn't listen to me.
"Welcome to Jackson's bodybuilding training *does one push up* Thanks for-"
"Please put your shirt back on"
"Oh come on. We all know that it's what you want to see. I'll let you have a-"
I stand up abruptly, "You know, I think I'm going to make that tea for you now. Please excuse me." and with that, I rush out of the room.
Out of the corner of my eyes, I see Jackson fist pumps the air. I roll my eyes. Was the whole thing a ploy for me to make him tea? Oh, I'll give him tea alright. I grab the honey and fill half the teapot with it. Haha Jackson, now you're tea will be too sweet to drink...What am I even doing? Am I literally punishing Jackson by making his tea too sweet? Wow, great move Beom. Why don't you find something even lamer to do? I'm so immature... I add a couple of loose leaves and hot water, and take out a couple of matching teacups to the teapot, and carry the whole set out.
"Here," I say pouring him a cup and then sliding it over to him. "Don't spill the tea because it will be such a bother to clean off the carpet-"
"Oh don't worry honey, I have lot's of tea to spill!" Jackson says winking while raising his cup up to his lips.
"Can you please not call me honey. Because it's not like I am honey, and it's not like we are close enough for you to call me pet names. But speaking of honey, I'm just going to say that I know that it's a really childish move, but I put a lot of honey in your tea because I was mad-" I look over at Jackson, and he has already drained the first cup of tea and has started pouring the second cup.
"Oh My Goshhh! This tea is so good! What kind of secret ingredient did you put in here?!? "
I stare at him open-mouthed "I... um... nothing special. Wait. Isn't this too sweet?!" I pour myself a cup and take a cautious sip... and I gag. It's wayyyyyyyyy too sweet.
"Jackson, how can you drink this!? It's worse than sugar water. It's like drinking a melted freeze that you added an extra sweetener in.
"No, it's perfect."
"How can it be perfect if half of the teapot was filled with honey!" I ask incredulously.
"Half of it! Is that the secret to make good tea? I should tell that to Mark. That way next time he makes my tea it will actually taste good. Jinyoung always gets mad when I put too much sugar into my tea"
"But you can barely even taste the fact that its green tea."
"So? Your point is?"
"If you don't even taste the tea, then you might as well just drink honey lemon water."
"Oh My Goshhhhh! You're right. Honey lemon water is what I always had growing up! I need to go tell Mark right now!" And with that, Jackson jumps up, and sprints to the door, leaving me behind. "Thanks so much Beom! Thanks for taking care of me! Let's be friends!" Jackson says struggling to put on his shoes. "You seem like a cool person. See you around."
"He could have just texted Mark..." I sigh and turn around.
"Ewww... what did you put in this tea, it's too sweet." Jin-oppa makes a face and sets the cup back down on the table.
"You don't want to know how much honey I put in there."
"Did Jackson leave?" He asks, quickly clearing up the teacups and pot.
"Yep." I grab a couple of the cups from his hands, and together we head to the kitchen. Jin-oppa discreetly pours the rest of what was in the pot down the drain.
"Do you think Jackson is going to tell the boys where we live?" I ask hesitatingly.
Jin-oppa looks grim like he just realized that yes. No doubt Jackson will the bangtan boys where we live. That was probably why he followed me home. A dog on a mission. He's probably going to report to Namjoon.
"Well shit. At some point, there are going to be gifts and visitors aren't there?"
