7. That Time of The Month and Burning Sleds
*HELLO EVERYONE! SO I HAVE BEEN PUTTING THIS FIC OFF TO THE SIDE FOR TOO LONG. SO WELCOME TO THE UPDATE! HOPE YOU ENJOY!*
// Castiel's POV
"Don't let the frostbite, bite. . ." He finished singing, drifting off into his sleep.
"Nice duet." Someone said as they stepped into the small cabin. Castiel and Sven shot up.
"Oh, it's just you." Cas sighed as he saw it was the boy from the shop. "What do you want?" He asked, laying back down. The boy had changed into a different suit and was carrying two bags.
"I want you to take me up the North Mountain." He said nervously.
Castiel scoffed and laid back down on the hay.
"I don't take people places." He replied, closing his eyes.
"Let me rephrase that." He smirked and tossed a bag at Castiel. "Take me up the North
Mountain. . .please." He restated, a bit more confidently.
Castiel opened the bag to reveal the rope and pickax from the shop. He looked up at the man curiously.
"Look, I know how to stop this winter." The man stated, his face becoming a bit upset.
"We leave at dawn." Castiel said and laid back down. "And you forgot the carrots for Sven."
He felt a bag hit his face and Castiel quickly glared at the man.
"Oh! Sorry! I'm so sorry I-- we leave now. Right now." He blushed and walked out.
Castiel pulled out the carrots from the bag and handed one to Sven. He stood up and gathered his things.
"Come on Sven."
Sven nudged him and made a weird noise.
"Ugh fine, come on, Gabriel. I don't even know why you like that better. You don't look like a Gabriel." Castiel said, rolling his eyes and walking out of the small shack, Sven-- Gabriel following after him.
Castiel wandered over to his sleigh and began loading his things on it.
"So, what's your name?" The boy asked, walking over next to him. It was a bit dark but Castiel could see his cheeks and nose covered in cute little freckles. Oh so you think he has cute freckles do ya? Shut it.
"Uh-- Castiel. And that's Sven. Although he prefers to be called 'Gabriel'" Cas smiled and pointed to himself and his reindeer, who just stared at the two, like he expected something to happen.
The boy smiled and waved at Sven.
"How 'bout you?" Cas asked, finished piling his things in and turning so he could fully face him.
"Prince Dean of Arendelle." The boy smiled warmly and bowed.
Castiel scoffed again and smirked before going to tie Sven to the front of the sleigh.
"You expect me to bow or something?" Cas asked.
Dean blushed and rubbed the back of his neck.
"Well yes-- I mean no! I just. . .never mind." He laughed nervously before turning away.
"Well okay, come on." Castiel smiled and hopped on the sleigh, Dean jumping on after him.
Castiel waited a while before Sven ((who's actually Gabe)) started running on the trail, into the woods.
"Hang on, we like to go fast." Cas explained.
"That's fine. I like fast." Dean smiled. Castiel snorted loudly and covered him mouth to try and muffle the laughter.
"Yea I bet you do." He laughed.
"Excuse me?" Dean glared at him, propping his feet up on the sleigh and crossing his arms.
"Nothing! Get your feet off man! What the hell?! This right here. Is fresh lacquer! Were you raised in a barn or something?" Castiel scolded, pushing Dean's feet off and spitting on it, causing it to land on Dean's face instead.
"Eww. . .uh no! I was raised in a castle." Dean sighed and cleaned off the spit.
"Right, whatever. So tell me, what made the king go all haywire?" Cas asked.
"Oh. . .well it was my fault." Dean laughed nervously. "See, I got engaged so he freaked out cause I've only just met the her-- you know that day. And he wouldn't bless the marriage so-- "
"Wait. You got engaged to someone you just met?" Castiel gasped in disbelief.
"Yes. So I got mad and he got even more mad. And he tried to walk away but I grabbed his glove and-- "
"Hang on. You mean to tell me, you got engaged to someone you just met?!" Castiel asked again. Dean groaned and continued explaining.
"Yes now pay attention, asshat. So the thing is, he wore the gloves all the time so I just thought he had a thing about dirt and-- "
"Didn't your parents ever warn you about strangers?!" Castiel interrupted yet again.
"Yes they did. . ." Dean said and slowly scooted away from him. "But Bela is not a stranger."
"Oh yea? What's her last name?" Castiel smirked.
"Of-The-Southern-Isles."
"What's her favorite food?"
"Sandwiches."
"Best friends name?"
"Probably Lisa."
"Eye color?"
"Dreamy. . ." Dean sighed before realizing he said that while looking into Cas' eyes ((ehehehe)). They were also very dreamy. . .and blue.
"Bra size?"
"Ugh, bra size doesn't matter." ((cause he don't like boobies *cough* dick *cough*))
Castiel raised a brow at him but continued anyway.
"Have you had a meal with her yet? What if you hate the way she eats? What if you hate the way she acts during the certain time of the month?!" Castiel asked turning to face him, wide eyed.
"Certain time of the month?!" Dean gasped.
"And makes you buy pads, tampons, and clean up after her messes? And act like a complete emotional animal?"
"Excuse me but she is a princess."
"All girls do it." Cas shrugged and turned away so he was facing forward again.
"Ew. Look, it doesn't matter! It's true love!" Dean smiled widely.
"Doesn't sound like true love to me."
"And what are you? Some sort of love expert?"
"No. . .but I have friends who are."
"You have friends? Who are love experts?" Dean scoffed, "Yea. I'm not buying it-- "
"Stop talking." Cas interrupted as Sven slowed down, his ear perked up, listening intently. Cas slowly stood up, pulling up a lanter, trying to see better.
"No no no no, I'd like to meet these-- "
"I mean it. Stop. Talking." Castiel whispered, from inside the woods, the growls of animals could be heard.
"Go! Sven go!" Cas yelled and soon they were running, a pack of wolves following them.
"What are they?!" Dean yelled.
"Wolves!"
"Wolves?! What do we do?" Dean asked, frantically looking around.
"I've got this. You just-- don't fall off and don't get eaten. . .please." Castiel sighed before grabbing a stick from the back of the sleigh and lighting it with the lantern.
"Wait no! I wanna help!"
"No."
"But why not?" Dean whined.
"Because I don't tust your judgment."
"Excuse me?"
"I mean, who marries a man they just met?"
"It's true fucking love!" Dean yelled before grabbing the ukulele and lifting it up.
"WHOA WAIT WHAT!?" Cas yelled before ducking since Dean swung the instrument and hit one of the wolfs as it jumped towards them.
And then a douchey wolf had to go and bite Cas' sleeve, pulling him off of the sleigh but he had managed to grab onto the end of the sleigh, the wolves chasing close behind.
"OH MY DEAR LORD! Wait. . .what's your name again?" Dean yelled, holding onto the torch.
"Castiel!" Cas replied.
"Ah, okay. CASTIEL!"
Dean lit one of the rolled up blankets on fire and threw it at the wolf, and once again, Cas had to duck.
"You almost fucking set me on fucking fire!" Cas yelled, climbing the rope he was holding into.
"But I didn't!" Dean smiled and pulled him back up.
Sven made a reindeer sound ((what)), causing Dean and Cas to look. Then they figured out they were headed towards the end of a cliff.
"Get ready to jump Sven!" Dean yelled.
"You don't tell him what to do, I do!" Cas yelled and handed Dean the bag with rope and the pickax and picked him up bridal style ((ehueheu)) before tossing him onto Sven's back.
"Jump Sven!" Cas yelled before cutting the rope tying him onto the sleigh to let him jump freely.
Sven ran faster and jumped off the end of the cliff, almost falling, but landing on the other side safely. Cas made the most determined face ever before jumping off the sleigh and onto the other side.
However Cas landed at the very end of the cliff. He looked down at his sleigh that soon lit on fire.
"B-but I had just paid it off. . .ughhhdoshkvfghiueharcf-- WHOA!"
And then he sorta started to slip off. That is until a pickax tied to the rope was thrown at him, stabbing itself into the snow right in front of him.
"Hold on!" Dean yelled. "Pull Sven!"
"Well shit." Cas grunted and grabbed the pickax, letting himself be pulled up.
Once he was finally on safe land, Castiel let go and laid down, sighing in frustration. Dean walked up to him, sighing in relief before looking at the burning sleigh.
"Wow. . .uh-- I'll replace your sled and everything in it." Dean reassured. Castiel just groaned in response and covered his face.
"And. . .I understand if you, don't want to help me anymore. . ." Dean sighed before walking away slowly.
Sven nudged Cas with his arm, as if trying to tell him to get his ass up and follow his future husband.
"Of course I don't want to help him anymore. In fact, this whole thing has ruined me from helping anyone ever again." Cas sighed and sat up. Somewhere in the background Dean was walking in circles, trying to find the way.
"He'll die on his own." Sven 'said'.
"I honestly don't give two shits."
"But you wont get your new sled if he's dead."
Castiel groaned and looked down.
"Is it this way. . .? No I think it's that way. . ." Dean wandered around.
"Hold up! We're coming!" Cas called over to the prince.
"You are?" Dean replied happily. "I mean. . .sure! I'll let you tag along!"
Castiel smiled to himself and stood up, watching Sven run after him. There was something about this guy. It made Cas feel amazing.
