Chapter 2: Life changing
Sylvie gasped as she shot up for her bed. She seemed panicked upon remembering what had happened last night. She quickly looked around and relaxed seeing that she had somehow made it to her room. This confused Sylvie slightly before she let out a sigh and reached up to cover half of her face. "It was just a dream," Sylvie said trying to convince herself that there was no way something like that could be real.
Sylvie then stood up and walked to her dresser pulling out a pair of pants for the day and walked over to her closet to find a shirt she thought would go well with it. She decided on a simple purple blouse, however, she froze when she saw herself in the mirror. She dropped the clothes she was carrying and began to shake in fear.
She looked completely different, her bright red hair was now a dark ashy gray, her eyes were now a dark ruby red, she had two horns on her head that came out from the back and wrapped around slightly to the front of her head. She had two small wings on her back, nearly a foot and a half in length and they appeared to resemble bat wings, and a black stereotypical demon tail, even her skin had changed now becoming an unnatural mix between gray and blue.
Sylvie walked over to the mirror and looked at herself touching her face to inspect herself before moving back and screaming as loud as she could. This couldn't be happening! Seeing herself in this condition Sylvie moved back against the wall behind her and began to slide down it tears starting to stream down her face as she did. Why was something like this happening to her? Why now, when her life was finally about to change for the better?
She then heard a few panicked footsteps and moments later her parents burst into the room clearly on high alert. When they did Sylvie began to cover herself curling into a ball in a futile attempt to hide. "No! Don't look at me!" Sylvie said as she tried to hide from view tears streaming down her face as she did. She couldn't let her parents see her in this condition. They had taken care of her their entire life, she didn't think it was fair for them to see what kind of monster their daughter had become.
She heard them sigh a bit relieved and her father moved forward and wrapped her in a hug. Sylvie tensed up feeling this and bit her lip as a few more tears threatened to fall down her face. "It's all right, I know things look bad, but trust me everything's going to be fine," Her father whispered in a clear attempt to try and calm her down. However, his soothing words and calm voice did help and Sylvie turned to look at him.
"R-really?" Sylvie asked as she looked at him and he nodded with a kind smile before wiping away the tears in his daughter's eyes. He then stood up and walked back slightly, when he did a red almost blood-like mist engulfed him for a moment, and his form completely changed as well. His bright red hair, that Sylvie had assumed she had inherited from him was now a deep black, and his eyes were a pale yellow, with two golden horns that stood straight up, deep red skin, and two massive wings that were folded on his back, as well a tail similar to hers.
Her mother's form then also began to change but at a much slower rate. Her platinum blonde hair becoming a pure white, almost silvery color, and her eyes being the same deep ruby red that her daughters were. Sylvie couldn't believe what she was seeing, her parents were like this? She had known them for years, and yet she had no idea. "We know this is a lot to take in," Her father said as the same bloody mist covered him and disperse revealing his human for that Sylvie knew and loved.
"We'll be downstairs when you're ready," Her mother said as she walked out of the room, her father following behind shortly after. Sylvie sighed as she looked at herself in the mirror. How was she supposed to put on her shirt with her wings, or put on her pants with her tail? She sighed seeing this and tried to move her wings. It was a bit difficult due to the fact she had never had to move the extra appendages before however, she did find the task rather easy after a few attempts.
Sylvie then looked at her tail and after a few moments got the idea to wrap it around her body in an attempt to hide her tail. It seemed to work, however, keeping her tail still and in a way that was comfortable for her was a bit more challenging than it seemed. After she had finished what she was doing she looked at herself in the mirror and smiled before sighing and slumping over. "What's the point?" Sylvie asked as she looked at herself.
Even if she hid her wings and tail, the rest of her was a dead giveaway that she wasn't normal. Sylvie then spent a few minutes looking at herself saddened by what she had become before she eventually began to walk downstairs. It was obvious that her parents had the answers to all her questions so at the moment she didn't see the point in waiting in her room and sulking. Sylvie walked out of her room and to the kitchen holding her arm a bit nervously as she did.
Her father smiled and gestured to the chair across from them. Sylvie walked over to it a bit nervous and sat down as she looked at her parents. "I'm sure this is a lot to take in but, how about this, we'll tell what's going on first. Then if you have any questions you can ask and we'll try to answer them," Sylvie's father said causing her to nod.
"Well, as I'm sure you've put together, we're not normal," her mother said as she looked at her daughter. "We're . . . well . . . to put it simply we're monsters," Her mother said as she looked at her daughter causing Sylvie to enter a slightly depressed state.
"What do you mean monsters?" Sylvie asked as she looked up at her mother.
"Well that's just a general term, but it's true. All those creatures from folklore, myths, and legends, they're real every single one of them," Her father said as he looked at his daughter.
"Then what are we?" Sylvie asked as she looked up at her parents.
"Well, I'm a vampire," Her mother said as she looked at her daughter.
"And I'm an incubus," Her father said as he looked at her.
"So, I'm some vampire, succubus hybrid?" Sylvie asked looking at her parents, causing them to nod. "Why didn't you tell me sooner? Why keep it a secret?" Sylvie asked as she looked at her parents. She felt hurt and betrayed, just why would her parents keep something as important as this away from her? They had always trusted her with other matters, even if their trust was a bit misplaced at times. So why not trust her with this?
"Well . . . to be honest," Her mother began looking away a bit sheepishly.
"It's my fault," Her father said as he looked at Sylvie. "It's a complicated matter, but the short version is that I thought you'd be happier if you thought you were human, and you didn't know the truth. It would give you a chance to live your normal everyday life," Her father said looking at her.
"And the long version?" Sylvie asked as she looked at her father wanting to know the whole truth of the story and not just the parts he wanted to tell her.
"Well, that's what makes it complicated. Vampires when they're born and not created from another vampire need to awaken their vampiric genes. This is an easy process they just need to feed on a decent amount of blood. Most don't have a choice since Vampires need blood in order to survive, so they're forced to feed their child. However . . . since you're part succubus, we never gave you the blood to awaken you, since you could eat other stuff," The male said as he looked at Sylvie.
"I can eat things besides blood," Sylvie said finishing his line of thought and her father nodded. Sylvie sighed hearing this and covered her head, all this was starting to cause a dull pain in the back of her mind. "Okay, so what now? I can't just pretend this isn't happening, and what am I supposed to tell Jason? We hang out all the time, he's definitely going to notice that I just stop coming outside during the day," Sylvie said as she looked up at her parents.
"Jason knows," Her father said causing Sylvie to look up at her. "He's one of us," Her father said causing Sylvie's eyes to widen. She couldn't believe what she had just heard. Jason was one of them? He was a monster like them? How did he manage to hide it for so long? "I don't mean a vampire or incubus like us. He's a different type of monster," Her father explained.
"What type of monster is he?" Sylvie asked out of curiosity, she was genuinely curious about what type of monster he was.
"He's a dragon," Her father said as he looked at Sylvie. Hearing this Sylvie once again showed her surprise clearly taken back by what she had just heard. A dragon? There was no way that could be true right? After all, he looked just like a human, and even if there were a dragon that looked like a human she had never heard of it. Then again she did hear that massive rumbling last night, and the blue flames that were around her, so maybe it wasn't that far fetched after all.
"Well, then how am I supposed to get to school? I can't go out like this, and even if I didn't look like this I'm a vampire now. Wouldn't the sun kill me?" Sylvie asked as she looked at her parents still trying to come to terms with everything she had been told.
"No," Her mother interrupted. "It won't kill you like it would kill me, but it'll definitely be a hindrance on you," Her mother said with a smile as she looked at the male in front of her. Sylvie groaned hearing this and placed her hands on her face before dragging them down in a very annoyed manner.
"All right, but what about my looks? I can't go out in public like this!" Sylvie said as she gestured to herself. She was indeed a rather unusual sight at the moment. However, her worries were quickly laid to rest as her father snapped his fingers and she was covered in the same bloodlike mist from before. She felt a strange, tingling, almost electric-like feeling wash over her as the mist surrounded her.
"I'll help hide your appearance until you learn to properly morph, and hide your appearance," Her father said as he looked at her. Sylvie looked at her hands hearing this and smiled seeing that her complexion had gone back to the pale color from before and smiled slightly.
"Thanks, um . . . I'll try and hurry home today. I still got a lot I want to talk to you about," Sylvie said as she looked at the two in front of her. They both nodded hearing this and Sylvie stood up and walked outside. As soon as she opened the door Sylvie stepped a bit back and stared at the few rays of the sun that were shining into the house. Even though her mother assured her she'd be fine she was still a bit cautious.
However, seeing Jason standing at the end of her driveway waiting for her like he always did gave Sylvie a newfound sense of determination. She had to know if what her parents said about him was true if he had been the one to save her, and just how they had found out her date was going to end in disaster. After taking a few seconds to catch her breath she stepped out into the sunlight, and immediately she understood why her mother said the sun would kill her but it would definitely be a 'hindrance' on her.
As soon as the rays hit Sylvie's pale skin she started to feel exhausted, and she heated up slightly. It wasn't the type of heat she would compare to being burned alive, but more like she sitting in the car on a hot day. The fact that the longer she was in the sun the more exhausted she got didn't help either. Sylvie sighed and decided to get the walk over with as quickly as possible and began to walk down the path the lead to her house.
As she did she once again began to walk down the streets trying to shield herself from the sun as much as possible. "Hey Sylvie," Jason said with a smile as he looked at the female in front of him. "I'm glad to see you're okay, you're parents told me you'd be fine but even so I'm glad to see you're okay," Jason said with a smile as he looked at the female in front of him. Sylvie smiled slightly hearing this and nodded.
"Let's go, it hurts to be in the sun," Sylvie said as she looked at the male in front of her. Jason nodded and the two began to walk down the streets together. "So my parents told me you're a dragon," Sylvie said as she looked at the male beside her.
"They told you about that huh? Yeah, I am, but it's not as cool as it sounds. I'm just a water dragon . . . the ones that kind of look like snakes not the ones with legs," Jason said as he looked at the female next to him and Sylvie nodded hearing this.
"So, why didn't you tell me?" Sylvie asked as she looked at the male next to her.
"Same reason your parents didn't tell you. I thought it would be better if you didn't know," Jason confessed as he looked at the female next to him. Sylvie clenched her fists slightly hearing this. How could he think that was better? He was supposed to be her best friend they weren't supposed to hide anything from each other. How could he do something like that to her? She wanted to confront him on the matter but decided against it.
She knew that at the moment their friendship was rather stained at the moment and she didn't want to say anything she'd regret later on. However, as they walked and passed by the same brass gate they always did Sylvie thought of a question she hadn't thought to ask her parents even though she knew she really should have. "So judging by what happened last night, I'm guessing there are some people that know about us?" Sylvie asked as she looked at the blonde next to her.
"Yeah, unfortunately, you had a run in with a Condottieri," Jason said with a sigh.
"What is that?" Sylvie asked as she looked at the male in front of her. Jason sighed hearing this and the two continued passing by the gates to Star Shade.
"A Condottieri is something like a hunter. However instead of hunting animals, they hunt monsters," Sylvie felt her heart drop hearing this as her blood ran cold. So people were now hunting her? Or rather they've been hunting her all her life without her knowing about it. "They've got several places set up that they control," Jason said as he looked at the female in front of him.
"Such as?" Sylvie asked as she looked at the male.
"You know how sometimes there will be places that are fenced off with armed guards? Even though there's no real reason for the location to be guarded or even fenced off?" Jason asked as he looked at Sylvie.
"I take it they're controlled by the government or something like that?" Sylvie asked as she looked at the male and Jason shrugged.
"Not exactly, but it might as well be. A long time ago it was just a cult, of humans that hated us. However as time went on, some of those cult members managed to sneak into the government, and now . . . well they've got bases set up all over the place, and most people just think we're nothing more than common myths," Jason said as he looked at the female in front of him.
"Yeah . . . hey, should we be talking about this out in the open?" Sylvie asked as she looked at her friend. She hadn't thought about it until now but addressing something like this did seem to be rather risky.
"Yeah, we're fine. Most people will probably just think we're crazy or some other shit. Although I don't think we should make a habit of this. I'm doing it today because . . . well, I thought it'd be better to help you understand the world you live in better, the real world I mean," Jason said as he looked at the female next to him. Sylvie smiled slightly hearing this and nodded as she continued to walk down the streets.
"Come to think of it how did you find out that Chris was a condo-whatever," Sylvie asked as she looked at her friend.
"Well, we've got someone on the inside," Jason said as he looked at the female in front of him and Sylvie seemed a bit surprised to hear this.
"Really?" Sylvie asked as she looked at the male in front of her.
"Yeah, but don't think that's a normal thing. The only reason we have this one at all, is because we got extremely lucky. "I doubt we'll get this lucky again for another few generations," Jason said as he looked at Sylvie causing her to nod in understanding. Was someone helping them really that rare? That it only happened once every few generations?
"I see, is there any chance I can meet him?" Sylvie asked wanting to thank the person she owed her life to.
"You already have actually," Jason said as he looked at the female in front of him.
"I have?" Sylvie asked, a bit curious as to who this figure that had apparently helped saved her life was.
"Yeah, Shane," Jason said as he looked at the female. However when he said this Sylvie gave him a blank look showing that she clearly had no idea whom the male was talking about. "Shane Dawson?" Jason clarified as he looked at Sylvie.
"The youtuber?" Sylvie asked as she looked at Jason a bit confused. When she did Jason sighed and shook his head. It was more than obvious that Sylvie had no idea whom he was talking about.
"No the guy in math that's always wearing black, and a bandana," Jason said as he looked at her.
"Oh, him!" Sylvie said as she looked at Jason now knowing exactly who he was talking about.
"Yeah, him. I can have him talk to you if you want," Jason said as he looked at the female in front of him. Sylvie nodded hearing this wanting to thank the male that had saved her life. Once the two had arrived at the building they walked down the halls and Jason smiled. "Great, I'll have him meet you after school," Jason said with a smile and the two went their separate ways for most of the day.
The two only reuniting at the end of the day, Sylvie sighed as she leaned against the side of the building. It seemed as if Chris had left a bit earlier than expected, she had heard several different reasons why. However she knew the truth, it was Chris had 'completed' his mission. However even after all that she still had her mind elsewhere. Sylvie stared blankly at the Tennis court where she saw several people practicing.
She would love to practice with them, however, due to her recent discovery that was a luxury, she couldn't do at the moment, or at least not if she didn't want to pass out halfway through. "Hey, Sylvie!" Jason called out and Sylvie turned to see a male with short brown hair, and deep brown eyes, wearing a black t-shirt, a black pair of pants, some black shoes, and most importantly his signature black bandanna.
"Hey," Shane said as he waved at the female in front of him.
"Hey, so I just wanted to thank you for yesterday," Sylvie said with a smile as she looked at the male in front of her and Shane smiled, not that she could see it through his bandanna. "I got to ask, how did you know that he was a condodairy?" Sylvie asked as she looked at the male in front of her.
"Condottieri," Jason corrected as he looked at the female in front of him. Sylvie sighed hearing this.
"Yeah, whatever. How did you know he was one?" Sylvie asked as she looked at the male in front of her.
"That's . . . complicated. I don't have time to tell you the whole story, nor do I want to waste your time or bore you. Let's just say, a certain 'acquaintance' of mine seemed to like him for some reason, so I knew he was trouble. After a few hours of research, I found out why," Shane said as he looked at the female in front of him.
"Well, nonetheless I'd like to thank you. After all, if it wasn't for you I'd be dead right now," Sylvie said with a smiled as she looked at the male in front of him. Shane once again smiled hearing this and nodded as he looked at the female in front of him.
"Yeah, listen not that I don't want to stay here and chat, but . . . I got some things to do. So I'll need to be going," Shane said as he turned and began to walk away. Sylvie nodded in understanding and her and Jason began to walk away together.
"Not staying for track today?" Sylvie asked as she looked at the male and he shook his head.
"No, I won't be around much longer, with graduation and all. Plus I don't want you passing or some shit with no one around to help," Jason said as he began to walk with her. Sylvie nodded and looked at him.
"So how many of us are there?" Sylvie asked as she looked at the male in front of her.
"There's a lot but a few at the same time, only around point two five percent of the population is a monster. It's not a lot in general but at the same time, that means there are millions of us in the world. So at the moment, I'd like to think we're doing okay. Even if we are on the verge of extinction," Jason said as he looked at the female. Sylvie nodded hearing this as the two continued to walk down the streets together Sylvie starting to sweat because of how much she was in the sun.
The two then arrived at the brass gate that lead to Star Shade and Jason stopped and looked at it before turning to Sylvie. "Want to take a look inside?" Jason asked as he looked at her. Sylvie was a bit confused by this but sighed and nodded.
"Sure," Sylvie said as she looked at the male in front of her. Truth be told she couldn't care less about seeing the building, but at the moment she was willing to do anything to get out of this heat for a bit. If it meant she had to spend a bit longer trying to get home then so be it. Jason smiled and opened the gate for her. Sylvie smiled hearing this and walked through the gate. It did take them long to reach the shady forest and Sylvie felt almost imamate relief as they did.
As they walked they could hear a few faint footsteps most likely from a few of the creatures that had taken up residence in the forest. However, as they continued to walk Sylvie couldn't help but feel like they were being watched by someone or something. Despite the fact that Sylvie continued to convince herself that it was just animal like a rabbit, or squirrel or something else of that nature, she still felt that persistent gaze on her.
Sylvie then glanced to her side out of curiosity and she tensed up at what she saw. The same jackalope from before was in front of her. She thought about reaching to her side and telling Jason what she had seen. However, before she could the creature once again scurried away into the woods. Sylvie refusing to be beaten by something that's basically a rabbit began to run after it. She had to prove to Jason that it was real.
For others, it may have been something small and not worth the effort. However, for her, it was definitely something worth pursuing. Not only so she could prove that she wasn't lying, but also so that she could get a feel for how strong she was now. As Sylvie watched the rabbit fade from sight she darted after it. As she did she noticed that she was much faster than before and within a few seconds she managed to find the creature she was looking for.
Sylvie smiled as she reached out to grab it only for it to look at her before darting away. Sylvie was caught a bit off guard seeing this and stopped in her tracks so that she wouldn't collide with the ground and continue her pursuit of the jackalope. Sylvie continued to dart after the creature growing more and more irritated as it continued to evade capture. "Damn it," Sylvie mumbling under her breath as she missed the area that it had been just moments ago. "How can a stupid rabbit be so fast?" Sylvie groaned as she once again darted towards it.
However, due to her being slightly off the ground she was able to move a bit faster and grabbed the creature as she passed over it. Sylvie smiled and as they began to roll Sylvie felt the rabbit start to become much larger and heavier in her arms. Sylvie was confused feeling this and when they landed Sylvie pinned down the new figure in front of her and was more than surprised at what she saw.
It was a slender female a few years older than Sylvie, around the age of twenty-two, she had incredibly pale skin making her almost look sick, she had deep green eyes, just like the forest that surrounded the two of them, with her hair being an almost pure black similar to coal. She had somewhat short hair that reached just reached below her shoulder blades, she had straight bangs at the front that went just above her eyebrows.
"I-I'm sorry, i-is this your territory? I-I didn't know I swear!" The female said trying to defend herself from Sylvie.
"N-No, sorry I didn't know," Sylvie said as she stood up offering her hand. "I'm still fairly new to the monster side of things," Sylvie explained as she looked down at the female. It seemed like everything she had heard about really was a monster. Including something as simple and cute as a little jackalope.
"O-oh," The female said as she took Sylvie's hand and was hoisted off the ground. "W-well I'm Ashley," The female that Sylvie now knew was named Ashley said as she looked at the female above her.
"I'm Sylvie," she said introducing herself. Before either of them could say anything else the two heard a few footsteps and Jason came by a few moments later.
"Sylvie, what the hell? What'd you just start running off like-oh" Jason said just now taking notice of the additional figure in front of him. "I see you found our residential jackalope," Jason said as he looked at the two in front of him.
"Yeah, it was honestly just a misunders- wait a minute, you knew?! You knew that a jackalope lived here? So why did you act like you didn't believe me yesterday?" Sylvie said clearly outraged by what she had just heard.
"Didn't want any local hunters to get any ideas. After all, a rabbit's foot can be a great charm for your average moron looking to prove himself," Jason said as he looked at the female in front of him.
"So you did believe me?" Sylvie asked as she looked at the blonde in front of her.
"Of course, I doubt you'd make something like that up, but I couldn't let you know you were right. It could have cost Ashley her life," Jason said as he looked at the female in front of her. Sylvie nodded in understanding hearing this. After all, she wasn't sure how well she'd handle things if she knew that something had happened to Ashley just because she said she had seen her while was out.
"Um . . . are you two new students?" Ashley asked a little confused as she looked at the two in front of her.
"No," Sylvie said almost without hesitation.
"Well I am," Jason said as he leaned over to look at her. "I wanted to show her around the campus, I was hoping she'd reconsider afterward," Jason said as he looked at the female in front of him and Ashley smiled slightly with a rather shy nod.
"A-alright, well then I hope you two have fun, o-oh and I look forward to having classes with you," Ashley said as she jumped into the air changing back into her small jackalope form and scurrying off into the forest. Sylvie smiled seeing this and turned to look at Jason.
"She seems nice," Sylvie said as she looked at Jason.
"Yeah, that's what I've heard. She's apparently really strong for a jackalope, she was even born with this unique ability. Who knows, she might bring in an entirely new type of monster given enough time," Jason said with a smile as he looked at Sylvie. She nodded hearing this and stood up. The two then began to walk towards the building and when they arrived they saw an incredibly large building.
It seemed to be a mansion of some type, with several windows. It would be great as a house, or even if several people lived there, but for a school? It was small, to say the least. Jason smiled seeing this and walked into the building when she did they saw an elderly male who looked to be in at least his fifties. He had a slim build, and gray hair that showed his age that he kept combed neatly, as well as two brown eyes that were almost always hidden behind a pair of glasses.
"Ah, it's good to have the two of you here. Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Vidron, and I'm the headmaster of Star Shade Academy," The elderly male said as he bowed. "I must apologize if you were promised a tour as I wasn't notified. However, I will deliver one for you if you so wish," The male said as he looked at the two in front of him. The male then turned and began to walk away and Jason followed behind him and Sylvie sighed as he followed behind them.
"I'm sure the first thing you'd like to see are the dorms that we provide you with. After all, you will be living here, so I'm sure you don't want to live in a rundown mess," Vidron said as came to a stop in front of one of the several doors that littered the halls. Most likely the one that he used for demonstrations and tours like he was doing now. The male then reached into his pocket pulling out a small brass key with a rather elegant design to it.
"These are our dorms," Vidron said as he opened the door and Sylvie looked inside. When she did she saw a rather simple room with minimal supplies. A bed that looked rather cheap, a small desk that looked a bit uneven, and dresser that only had a few draws. "We allow you to decorate them as you please and if you pay extra then we will upgrade the supplies you're given," Vidron said as he shut the door.
"Now as for the campus, I'm afraid you've already seen most of what we offer. It's not much I know but without proper funding, we can't really-" Vidron began only for Jason to cut him off.
"It's okay she's one of us," Jason said much to Vidron's surprise.
"Oh? I'm sorry, please forgive me. It's just you don't carry yourself like one of us. In that case please allow me to show you the campus," Vidron said as he reached into his pocket and pulled out the same key as before. However this time he turned the key upside down before he placed it into the keyhole and turned it the opposite way that you would turn a key. When he did Vidron opened the door and this time instead of seeing a room they saw something else.
Sylvie walked through the door completely amazed by what she was seeing. The door now led outside into a massive city. Sylvie was completely taken back by this as she looked around. Not only was she outside but despite the fact she was being hit by sunlight she didn't feel tired or exhausted in the least. "Welcome to Star Shade," Vidron said with a smiled. Sylvie was taken back by just how many monsters she saw.
While some seemed to prefer their human form it seemed like just as many preferred their true form instead. "This place is amazing," Sylvie said as she looked around with a smiled and Vidron smiled.
"Indeed, this small dimension you're in was made from the best magic that money can buy. It took them nearly fifty years to complete the entire thing. However it was well worth the wait," Vidron said proudly as he looked around the campus. "While it's true our mansion is nothing to admire in terms of being a college that's only because we want to keep humans away. After all most humans aren't stupid enough to spend that kind of money on something that's clearly not worth it," Vidron said with a smile as he looked at the two in front of him.
"You see," Jason said as he looked at the female in front of him. "This is why I wanted to come here. This place is a safe haven for people like us?! A place where we can be normal and not hide and cower in fear," Jason said as he looked at Sylvie. "Sir, would you mind if we took a look around the campus?" Jason asked as he looked at the female in front of him.
Vidron shook his head smiling slightly. "No, not at all, I'll give the two of you an hour to have fun. However, after that, you'll have to leave. After all, don't want you getting lost in the city now do we," Vidron said as he looked at the two in front of him. When he said this Jason and Sylvie both smiled with a nod.
"Thanks, we will," Jason said as he began to walk off into the city with Sylvie ready to show her the wonders of this city, and the new world that she found herself living in.
