Human AU
Character(s): Wren, Circe
Ship(s): WrenxCirce
TW(s): talk of work stress, alcohol(just causaly drinks), Christmas, wlw(to clarify this is for people who don't want to read a romance one shot)
Background: A while after the events of Thunderstorms and Colds. Circe and Wren are in a serious relationship, and all of the others know. Wren comes home from a long day at work to find Circe and Erin sipping a glass of cabernet sauvignon and watching Whose Line Is It Anyway?. The rest? Find out. :)
For context, Wren is Hispanic(specifically Argentinian and Cuban) and Circe is Italian, Irish, and Polish(mostly Italian). So they have nicknames for each other in their second languages. Wren calls Circe "mi amor" (my love in Spanish) and Circe calls Wren "cara mia" (my beloved/my darling in Italian).

Wren's POV:
I walk up to the door of my house, fishing my keys out of my pocket. After finding the right key, I unlock and open the door, sighing. I'd had a long day at work today. I walk in to find that the house has been decorated with bright lights and colors for the upcoming holiday. The air smelled of fresh baked cookies. I hear the sound of the TV from the den.
I put my bags down on the coffee table in the living room and walk into the kitchen. Exhausted, I grab a couple cookies from the tray on the island and shuffle into the den.
"You look tired," I hear Erin say, sipping from a wine glass.
"No kidding," I mumble, heading over to my usual spot on the loveseat.
"Welcome home, cara mia," Circe spoke, setting her glass on the table beside her. I plop down on the couch beside her and heave a long sigh.
"Long day?" Circe strokes my hair.
"You have no idea."
Circe picks up her drink again as the program comes back on the TV.
"Mi amor,"
"Hmm?"
"What are you drinking?"
"We opened a bottle of cabernet sauvignon, would you like some?"
"Yes, please."
Circe grabs an empty glass from the table and pours some in. She hands the wine to me before turning her attention to the TV, where the cast of Whose Line Is It Anyway? were playing "Party Quirks", a game I often remeber recreating in my high school drama class as "House Party." In the game, one person acts as the host of the party, while the others are given prompts to act as. The host lets each character into their party, and through interacting with them, is to try to guess what they are portraying.
Erin, on one of the recliners by the window, breaks me out of my thoughts with a chuckle. She remarks how one of the people had barely even walked through the "door" and had immediately been guessed. She recounted a tale of a similar thing happening in high school, when she was given Navi from the Legend of Zelda. Circe snickers.
"I remember that, you walked in flapping your hands. You kept saying.."
"Hey, listen!" Erin and Circe speak in unison, bursting into laughter.
I give my own short laugh. I findit funny, but can'tjoin in on the memory as I had attended a different high school.
"We played a version of this, too," I speak up, "I acted out the character I had played in our One Act that year, I think the name was Taylor..?"
"You mean Taylor from Smarty Pants?" Erin asks. "I played the same character my freshman year! Our show ended up getting cancelled, though."
"I remember that!" Circe remarks, "You were so bummed when Ms. B announced that!"
The sound of laughter rings from the TV as two people from the crowd start voicing the sound effects for two of the contestants.
The three of us continue chatting for hours, losing track of time. In that time, I somehow find myslef with an arm wrapped around Circe, who's leaning her head against my shoulder.
"Oh, shoot. It's like 11:30. I should probably get to bed," Erin yawns, getting up from her chair.
"Aw... Well, sleep well. Goodnight, Erin," Circe says.
"Goodnight," Erin responds, putting her empty glass in the sink.
"Night..." I mumble, half asleeps myself.
Erin heads upstairs, leaving Circe and I alone.
Circe turns herself in the seat, burying her face in my neck. She runs her fingers through my hair. I wrap my arms around her, and we sit like that, basking in each other's presence, for only a couple minutes.
But it's enough.
It's enough to feel the love and warmth radiating from her.
It's enough for me to want to stay like that for the rest of my life.

I wanted to leave it there, but basically they get up and wash the glasses, put the wine away, turn off the TV and all that. Then they go upstairs to one of their rooms(doesn't mater which, up to you) and fall asleep in eahc others arms.
So, yeah.
