New School, New life, New people. Dont screw it up - Chapter 1 -Asher
I feel a person lightly shaking me, probably wanting me to wake up. My eyes open, On to find my dad with his hands on my shoulders and Avery in the doorway. "Morning sweet. I picked out your clothes. You gotta up your game and get some colorful clothes." He said, picking up an old black pair of jeans, which were ripped, a flannel, a black spaghetti strap tank top and my popular converse I've had since I was thirteenth.
My dad always knew how to touch my heart. He knew what I liked and what I hated. He knows I hate colors and that I love dark colors. He always tries to encourage me to get some colorful clothes. Even if it was dark blue, he'd ask if I wanted to try it out at the mall and return it, while I said no. Dad left my room with Avery putting my phone in her mouth and tossing it on the bed for me.
I pet in-between her ears while her tail harshly hit the floor. Once I grabbed the bottom of my pajama shirt, she exited the room to let me change.
I grabbed a cereal bar from the shelf and grabbed my skateboard. I walk into Dad's office and hug him before kissing his cheek and saying " I love you.". I walk out of the house, and across the street I see a girl with very little clothes and about five more girls behind her, texting. I put don't my skateboard and start skateboarding to school. When I'm about a block away, I bump into a girl.
She had short brown hair and a light blue T- shirt. She helped me steady myself after bumping into her and waved. "Hey. I'm Jackie. Good first impression,eh?" She asks, nudging me. I fake a laugh and reply. "Hey.. Yeah it was.. What grade are you in, exactly?" I asked quietly. I could see the look in her eye the way dad looks at me when he knows I'm nervous. "I'm in grade twelve. What about you?" She answered. I could see her looking at someone. "Same.. Who are you looking at?" I ask questioningly. She moves her gaze back over to me. "Just my friend, Mari.". She says, pulling me along as my skateboard ran across the ground slowly. I pull my hand out of her grip and flip the board into the air, catching it. Jackie leads me over to the girl she was looking at, while she was with three other girls.
"This is Mari, Kat, Liz, and Maren. Say Hi, Guys." Jackie explains, looking at them. "Hi guys!" They all said, laughing a bit afterwards. Jackie pulled me and her friends along with us toward the school. I wasn't too sure about today...
