Leo watched his mother trying to teach him and his brothers about mystic powers. He already sat through this lecture a ton of times so he already knew it and only Donnie was actually paying attention and taking notes. Raphie and Mikey were goofing around. His mother told him he somehow tapped into his own mystic powers during the attempted robbery at Mr. Huberts ice cream parlor. She said since he was able to use his powers, she would start teaching him and his brothers more about them.

Like stated above, Leo sat through this lecture with Suzie a bunch of times. He was only sitting through it this time to help his brothers.

“Question!”

“Yes, Donatello?”

“What’s the difference between science and mystic powers?”

“Mystic powers is more commonly known as “Yokai Magic.” Magic is dependent on the user’s magic output, whether or not they have magic to begin with, and the surrounding environment.”

“I have a question!”

“Go ahead Michelangelo.”

“What’s your mystic power?”

“My power is shapeshifting. I use this cloaking broach to remain in this form for longer periods of time. One moment.”

Big Mama deactivated her broach and turned into her true form. Mikey fell out of his chair, Donnie dropped his pencil, Raph snapped his pencil, and Leo yawned.

“Baby-shell, could you go get some snacks from the kitchen please?”

“Okie dokie, be back soon.”

Leo walked out and Big Mama continued the lecture. He was excited to try and use his mystic power again. If he accidentally used his powers once without even realizing it, thinking back to the lecture he had basically mesmerized, his magic reserves must be huge! Jack and Danny mastered their mystic powers when they were his age, so maybe they could help him. Sure illusionary magic was one of the easiest and most common mystic power there was, but it wouldn’t hurt to ask.

“Oh ho ho~ Lookie what we have here.”

“Looks like a little snacky snack to me~”

Leo laughed as he passed between Jack and Daniel. The very foxes he wanted to see. Their tails swayed lazily as they held their unofficial little brother.

“I was just thinking of you two!”

Jack: “All good things I hope.”

Daniel: “We can’t stand the thought of the illustrious Young Master Nexus thinking poorly of us.”

Jack: “That won’t do at all my good chap!”

Daniel: “Not at all indeed, dear brother o’ mine!”

The two were talking in exaggerated British accents as they exchanged equally exaggerated looks of offendedness. Leo giggled at his oldest siblings banter.

“Only the best things were thunk about my oldest brothers!”

Jack: “I should hope so!”

Daniel: “No, why were you thinking of us? Our rugged good looks?”

Jack: “Need help with the ladies? Or guys? Or the genderless lovelies we see on the daily?”

Daniel: “Need a handy little illusion to swap places with you for a while?”

“No, nothing like all that. Recently my mystic power was activated so Mama is doing her lecture -”

Jack: “About the importance of mystic powers -”

Daniel: “And the importance of magic reserves -”

“And the many different types of powers. I see you two didn’t forget the lecture.”

Jack: “Forgot it? My dear brother, we had to sit through millions of those damn lectures! Uh, don’t repeat what I say bro. You mom would kill us.”

Daniel: “Us? You’re the one who said it!”

Jack: “I’ll throw you under the bus! We sink or swim together, twinsie!”

The two paused and they rounded on Leo with shock and excitement plain as day on their faces.

Daniel: “You came into your power?! That’s awesome!”

Jack: “Leo, what is it?! If you came into it this early, it has to be something like our illusion powers or something equally simplistic.”

Daniel: “Get your head outta the books egghead! Leo, what’s your power?!”

“Mom said it was portals -”

Jack: “Portals! Did you hear that Danny Boy?”

Daniel: “I sure did! Our baby brother is a prodigy!”

Jack: “Our shenanigans will be taken to new heights!”

“That’s the thing. I don’t know how to use my power. I didn’t even realize I used it the first time.”

Daniel: “That’s how it was for us too.”

Jack: “Mom told us the day before that we weren’t allowed to go to the store to get our own ice cream.”

Daniel: “An hour later she showed back up and took us to the store. It wasn’t until we got back did we see mommy dearest holding you and everyone realized what happened. She was so happy that we got to keep our ice cream.”

“How did you continue to use your powers?”

Daniel: “Mainly pranks and our usual mischief. Aside from the first time, it took a ton of work to master illusions by your age.

Jack: Yeah, back in the town we used to live in, I knew a lady who had a portaling power. She said it was easiest to use the power when she had a catalyst. She didn’t like to use one through, she preferred the harder way.”

“Things should always be done the easy way if at all possible.”

Jack: “Couldn’t agree more!”

Daniel: “Want to get some food?”

“Shit! I forgot the snack!”

Jack: “No! My innocent Leonardo has cussed!”

Daniel: “The tragedy is real!”

“Don’t tell Mom and help me!”

Leo started running to the kitchen but fell through the ground. He landed in Francine’s arms in the kitchen. They looked at each other and then to the spot where Leo fell from. Jack and Danny peeked through the portal with terrified looks fading into relief and amazement.

They jumped through the portal before it closed and landed next to Francine. Said ice maiden quickly set Leonardo down and had someone prepare him a warm drink. Without her cloaking broach activated, her body temperature was below negative.

“Young Master, what just happened?”

“My mystic power, I think.”

Francine: “I see. I’m proud that you are able to use your power so young, but did you need something from the kitchen?”

“Mama is teaching my other brothers about mystic powers and sent me on a snack run.”

Francine: “Alright, what snacks would you like?”

“Chips and hummus, pepperoni and cheese rollups, um…”

Jack: “Instead of the pepperoni and cheese things, what about mini pizza bagels?”

Daniel: “And a big bowl of pineapple cubes for the tiny pineapple lover right here! And apple juice for our other baby brothers.”

“Alright. The snacks will be done soon. Finish up those drinks, all three of you.”

Leo sat on Jack's lap as all three of them drank the hot chocolate with whipped cream. Daniel stole Leo and sat him on his lap so Jack could take their cups to the dishwashers. Francine returned quickly with two trays. One had four drinks, a big bowl of mixed fruit cut into stars and flowers, and a smaller bowl with just pineapple. The second tray had a plate of mini pepperoni pizza bagels and crackers and hummus.

“The twins are more than capable to help you take these to your mother and brothers.”

Leo took a cup of hot tea for his mother and thought about giving the food to his family. A sparkling blue and magenta portal opened with a snapping sound. Leo could see the surprised faces of his family on the other side.

Jack: “Leo, where does this lead?”

“Can’t you see Mama?”

Daniel: “Nope. Only you can see where your portals go.”

Leo hummed as he walked through. Big Mama was extremely proud of her boy and the excitement on his face. Jack and Daniel helped Raphael set up the lounge table with all the snacks and drinks.

“Mama! I did it! I can use my mystic power!”

“I saw Baby-shell! I’m very proud. Go eat with your brother. Jack, Daniel. A word?”

The fox twins explained what happened and what they told him. They tactfully left out the little cuss Leo let slip. What kind of older brothers would they be otherwise?
