Chapter 24: The end of the battle...For now

The train rolled out of control and into the distance, pulling only one of the fifteen carriages with it. The whistle of the train deafened Lucy as she peered up to the train entrance.

"Dad! We need to stop the train!" she yelled

"Then go! Ill stop these gits!" He spat at her. Lucy could see more creatures roaming out the woods, looking dangerously savage

"They don’t look like dememtors" Shona warned over the rushing air. Lucy stomped to the train, feet clamping to the ice insecurely. She held herself as the wind blew closer and the train made a getaway away from the snow. She peered in to see Jessica and a hooded man fighting in the carriage way

"Take this you bitch!" he screeched and thumbed her in the back with a shovel. Lucy took out her shivering wand and muttered a spell

"Reducto!"

It hit the man in the chest and sent him into the fire. He screamed as his cape swallowed him in flames and he threw it off sharply. Jessica punched him in the back and he fell out.

"Lucy! Quick!" Jessica seemed different as she helped Lucy down. Her hand was badly burnt and Lucy could see shed acclaimed a few bruises

"Just wanted to see what all the fuss was about!" She yelled over the rolling train "we need to stop it!"

"I don’t know! I didn’t go to train school!" Lucy panicked and went towards the levers "um...Which one?" 

"I don’t know, your guess is as good as mine Miss Snape," Jessica admitted as she closed the fire door. Lucy pulled a lever and flinched as she heard the dying horn squeal out a note...

"Expeliarmus!" Snape cursed and sent a wolf flying back towards the ground. It was a crazy situation, some wild animals had decided to attack them in the fight for blood. They where attacking each other and the gang members alike, and where just there for fun.

"Stupefy!" Shona screamed at a man, who fell back into the snow, the rest flying hexes everywhere. Snape saw a lunging dog and ducked briskly. He tugged Shona down as well as it soured above them and into a gang member

"We cant attack them all!" Shona shrieked. Snape knew she was right, but then Shona had an idea

"Snape! Hit them!"

"WHAT!" he yelled as a couple of wolfs crawled closer

"I SAID HT THEM!" Shona shouted "HIT THE AMINALS AND HEXS THE HUMANS! IT’S THE ONLY WAY!!!"

"And how’s that meant to help!"

"We’re using to many spells at once, and well end up being hit by spot face!" Shona said as she hexed a member, who flew a defensive charm.

"You’ve lost it McGuire!" Snape yelled as he saw a wolf attack a caped man from behind, biting his leg

"Would you like to try it without me!" Shona said as the things loomed closer "just follow my lead!"

A random black wolf loomed out the pine and soared into the air. Shona saw it loom and smashed it in the face. It squealed and fell to the floor, backing away quickly. Snape turned his back towards her and focused his range on the incoming cape

"I’ll take these! You take the ones behind me!"

"Good idea!" she said as a full blasted fight began...

Lucy was sweating like a pig as the train bolted through the woods, the branches swooping dangerously low to the train. She wondered how many people could manage to fit in one carriage as the Hogwarts express sped round a sharp bend and Jessica and Lucy where hit to the right. Jessica looked around before shouting to Lucy

"I’m going in!" she yelled. Lucy hoped she meant the furnace but actually she saw her run into the carriage behind

"What the hell!" Lucy said in a high pitched voice as the woman opened the carriage door, until she realised what she was doing

"Inpendio!" She snarled at an oncoming man, sending him into the drinks cabinet. Lucy forced her attention to the brakes, where were they?

"Ok, lets try this one..." She quivered and pulled at a red bar. Lucy felt the train jolt and increase its speed "no! Um..." she tried her efforts at the knobs in the corner, but instead she saw the handle go red.

"That cannot be good" she told herself quickly as she turned to another wheel. She span it and it crunched at the built up rust. To her amazement the thing started to blurt out a tune. Lucy listened as it played a fourties song as the Hogwarts express whistled by and back into the open...

Shona and Snape where quivering in their boots as they finished of the last of the members. Shona swung a spell at a chapped mans face and sent him into a train wheel. She grimaced as his screams filled the valley and turned back to Snape, but there was only three more to go

"I hope this bloody finishes soon, I’m shattered" she said to him as she sent a very lazy spell, an easy stop to for the defender.

"It will" Snape promised as another member swung out of nowhere and in front of Shona

"DUCK!" she yelled and linked arms with him. Snape did as he was told and turned his head to see Shona’s pelt her legs into the mans stomach. He fell on the floor and gaped for breath as Shona turned back "cheers"

Eerily but quietly a soft moan filtered over the train, the crew members listening carefully. At once they placed their wands at their sides and simply jumped of the speeding carriage, the last smiling evilly to them before pronouncing the words they heard so often

"Long live Zuc the mighty"

"To hell with him!" Shona whispered to Snape harshly. She wiped her eyes and felt very dazed. Snape and her panted harshly as the groan continued and filled their ears….

"GET DOWN!" Shona yelled and pushed him to the ground as a flying dagger flew passed them. Snape felt them whip passed them both as a figure growled and out of the alley. It was completely black, soaring high and had the most disturbing back wings on its back, lie they’d been struck there on purpose. They waited in silence as the thing swooped down to the tired duo, the shadow sinking into the snow...

Lucy jolted as the train went over an incredible large bump, then realising it was a wolfs corpse, she shudder violently. The train was a runaway and ghostly, and it wasn’t stopping. She looked behind her to see Jessica wiping the floor of some bad guys and to her horror two cowering school kids beside her

"Snoopers" she muttered as she turned back to the controls. There where two left she hadn’t tried, since Lucy had sent the train into overdrive. The Hogwarts express would either run out of fuel or overheat. Problem was the thing had plenty of juice and Lucy could see a meter reaching up into the black level.

And that wasn’t good.

"Um..." she muttered as she twiddled her thumbs. One was a red leaver with a golden handle and the other was a sparkling like leaver, hung onto the wall in its rusty glory. She hesitated as she watched them both, the steam train hooting of it’s own accord. Suddenly she had a feeling that the red leaver was the one to choose. Without thinking she pulled it to her and herd the world stop in anxiety.

The train squealed at its sudden force and flung Lucy backwards. The people inside the teachers carriages where smashed into the windows and shudder in the intense breakage. The train tip toed on its wheels and sent drinks and people a spray. She herd shrieking and saw a silhouette fly over. When was it going to stop? Lucy thought. But considering they where going two hundred mph, that wasn’t bad breaking.

At last the train started to slow and rumble to a halt. Lucy peered out front into the mist to see the figure lying on the track. It lifted its head as it saw the train slowly roll closer.

"Get out the way!" She yelled at the thing. It just laid there before crawling out the way, avoiding the tracks.

"Ow..." It mumbled and laid in the snow

"Shona?"

"Oh hi, your dads up there..." Shona waved a hand at the trailer

"Are you ok?"

"Yup, you know, just laying in the snow, feeling dizzy. How would you feel if you where flung hundreds of feet into the air and then to hit snow? Actually snows quite nice, warm...Or am I numb?"

"Ok i’m going to help dad" Lucy said and climbed back out

"See you later, oh there’s this badass dude up there, ask Snape to kick his ass will you?"

"Er sure?..." Lucy said confused. She guessed Shona must be a bit dazed because she started to sing a nursery rhyme softly. Shaking her head, she lifted herself up to the trailer.

Indeed there was a figure, a black one made of shadow. Instantly the blackness floated off it to revel Kingston inside, and Lucy ran to her dad’s side

"Hello Snape! And Snape! McGuire enjoy her flight?"

"Oh yes she asked if we could kick your butt!" Lucy remarked

"Oh charming, shame you cant because I’m going to suck your blood first" he said innocently to them. Snape looked at him as though Christmas had just been cancelled.

In a flash Kingston was behind them, holding their shoulder

"Get off!"

"Well I’d just like to talk for a bit, see if Snape remembers me" he nodded at the man, eyes full of terror

"What?" Lucy asked confused

"Oh didn’t daddy tell you that I threatened to send him to Mr Yu, the most best scientist since Frankenstein"

Lucy just stared at him as she twisted Snape to the ground in a flash, holding his arm behind his back, preventing his wand from striking. He did the same to Lucy, and Kingston smiled evilly. She struggled at his grip but he didn’t let go, it was like suckers

"Kingston, let Lucy go, if you want me you an have me" Snape said to him. Kingston just laughed

"Why don’t I just kill both of you here, personally I don’t talk much, I let my fangs do the talking, but for you guys you might want some explanation," they waited before he whispered into Lucy ear "you know your dad cried, right?"

"Get off her!" Snape said and lunged, but Kingston twisted his arm further and their was a click and Snape sent to the ground shivering. Lucy stared at her fathers back as Kingston strengthened his grip

"Oh poor Snape, acting as guardian angel are we? Don’t worry, Lucy wont feel any pain, at first" he said and turned to Lucy "night night"

He made his fangs turn into canines and Lucy screamed as he smiled evilly again. he stabbed them into her but missed her neck, piercing her arm. She screamed and Snape pulled weakly at Kingston’s grip, but it was no use. The fangs went through the fabric and Lucy felt the blood trickle away. He stood her up and she limply obeyed, going pale at the second. Her knees drooped and she stared at the man killing her slowly. Her arm burned and she felt her self slip away...

"Reducto!" Snape snarled and aimed his wand at Kingston’s wrist. Since they where so close he screamed out and fell backwards, Lucy wincing as Kingston withdrew sharply. His lips had blood dripped all over them and he sucked it off. Snape rose to his feet and took Lucy to his side, aiming his wand at the freak

"Don’t you dare touch my daughter!" he whispered drily, like Lucy had ever herd before. He clutched her wounded arm as Snape drew closer to the vampire, hand shaking for some reason. Kingston didn’t seem impressed

"You got lucky" he mumbled as he stared back. In a manic he stabbed his claws into Snape’s knee and sent him falling to the floor, screaming. Lucy held out a hand to him but Kingston appeared behind her and held a nail to her neck.

"Stay there Snape or this one dies" he snarled "I am never going to do the ‘talk and kill’ routine ever again, I’m sticking to kill on a first basis" he mumbled to himself. Lucy heard this and remained still and felt the urge to punch the man.

Then Lucy thought to herself. Why was her dad lying on the floor like that?

Because of her

Lucy had this funny feeling, this was about her, not about anyone else, but her. It was time she should stand up, not let her dad run after her

"Take this you freak!" She yelled and shot her elbow into his ribs. He hissed and he spun him round and pushed him off the edge. Kingston was surprised at this move and fell backwards in shock, down into the snow below

"Lucy?" Snape asked and limped next to her. Not really thinking anything through she hugged him and whispered to him

"You ok dad?"

“I...I’m fine, are you ok?” he asked doubtfully

"I will be once we get inside" she mumbled

"You don’t expect me to die from that do you?" Kingston laughed and rose from below, bat wings flapping slowly with powerful presence. Snape readied himself and so did Lucy as he lunged at them. His claws ran down the air and missed his face by inches, Lucy tugging at his heels. Snape and Lucy shot spells one at a time at the man, each time Kingston smart fully dodging it. In a random attack Lucy sent a spell hurling into the mans eye, causing him to scream painfully.

Snape grabbed hold of Kingston’s arm but Kingston smashed him away, clutching his bleeding eye. He snarled loudly before letting his claws extend dangerously

"Pointy hats!" he yelled at them before swinging them towards them. Lucy screamed and ducked where as Snape moved backwards, wand still brandished. Kingston didn’t really seem to care weather he hurt or not, all mattered to him was killing one of them.

"Canine teeth!" Shona screamed and punched him in the back. Kingston swung round and hit the man again. Kingston swung his claws but Shona ducked and hit him in the legs. Kingston stumbled to the side and panted harshly before making an odd noise

They watched as he gargled a little before rolling his eyes. But never the less he stared at them, preparing to carry on fighting. Suddenly a light flashed from above and Lucy aimed her wand at the sky. Snape eyed Kingston as he stared to, unsure of what was happening. Kingston then placed a hand on his ear and seemed to dismiss the trio. He looked up before snarling

"Yes my lord" he whispered before spreading out his bat wings "I already have what I came for"

And with that he flew off, leaving Snape and the others confused. The light above got brighter and brighter and son they where unable to see each other…

"Dad!" Lucy said over a pixelated noise. As soon as the light begun it dimmed slightly, giving them a silhouette if Shona and a strange creature behind.

"McGuire!" Snape hissed and pointed behind her, wand raised. But Shona took matters into her own hands and swung a well timed punch, sending the thing to fall to the floor. Shona raised her wand as she saw more silhouettes approach them and Lucy readied for a massive fight...
