Chapter 21: Love potion

Lea Grey had been talking normally to her friends. A Slytherin, she’d taken pride at getting the best open carriage seats an winked at all the boys. Being part French, most of the boys gaped at her as she strutted by. It was noisy and when professor Snape walked in no one took notice

"Hello professor Snape" Lea said half heartedly, as if he paid her to say it

"Tell me child, where is a Lauren Wing?"

"She’s one of the university students," she said doubtfully "why?"

"Because, pretty girl, I love her!" Snape said in a giggle. The entire corridor turned "toddles!" he waved and walked off, leaving the gang to laugh

Snape laughed through the corridor until he came to Lucy and her friends cabin

"Hello all! Just popping over to see wing Lauren! She’s sassy!"

Fred and George laughed as the room remained silent

"But you like Jessica Stone" Harry said

"Oh yes, I just remembered. Thank you highly intelligent boy. Do tell, do I teach?"

"Potions" Lucy said stiffly

"Oh can you introduce me to Jessica Lucy? I think i’m lost..." His voice trailed off and he skipped away. Lucy sensed something was wrong

"We’ve got to go after him" she said seriously. The rest followed without complaint and searched the train. After ten minutes they found the giggly Snape, Lucy walked down another corridor to see Shona peering out. Lucy ran over but before she could speak Shona spoke

"Missing something?" she asked. Lucy looked down in embarrassment to see Snape grabbing at Shona’s legs, giggling rapidly. Lucy blushed and picked him up

"Hello again!" he beamed. Lucy turned to Shona

"Love potion" Shona said bluntly. Lucy gasped as Snape went to Shona

"Hello" he purred. Shona hit him in the face quickly. Snape made a groaning noise as he laid under the built in table, giggling again "meow!"  he gasped

"He’s been acting like that for a while..." Shona sighed, Snape stepped up again and returned to Shona. She slapped him hard

"Please tell me that brain of yours understands why i’m hitting you!"

"Oh I don’t mind! I actually on mind it! Hit me again!" Snape pleaded

Shona instantly hit him on the nose and Snape fell over again. Lucy would have been laughing if the situation hadn’t had been this serious.

"Keep him away from others while I go fin a cure" Lucy said quickly. Shona nodded as Snape, again, rose from his position

"Your hot!"

"Shove off Snivels" Shona pleaded as she shoved him under the table. Shona put a fake smile on as a group of teenagers walked by. They laughed at her an walked off. Shona scurried for Snape’s head an lifted it up.

"Your staying here for a bit" Lucy whispered

"Oh good! Shona..."

"No" Shona said bluntly an shoved his head back under. He yelled as he hit his head on the table as a couple of babbling teenagers walked passed. Lucy left them. Snape scurried and locked the door. He pulled the blinds an turned. Shona couldn’t be bothered to react and had gone back to reading. He rushed over and sat next to her

"I do like you" he said timidly and hugged her

"What’s wrong with you!" Shona scrambled for free from but Snape held her. Shona sighed and went back to her book

"I love you" he giggled and Shona stared at him. He rested his head on her shoulder and sighed. Shona knew it was going to get a lot worse...

Lucy rushed back to Harry, Ron and Hermione and got out her cauldron set. They got stares as she took out an advanced potions book and lots of ingredients. She spoke to them as she started to chop up the chezel bean

"My dads been smuggled a love potion, I can solve it, but i’m going to need water"

"I’ll get it," Hermione said "will Buxton’s do?"

"I guess" Lucy said. Hermione got the bottle out and gave it to Lucy, who let the contents chug into the cauldron in front. Harry peered over the book and saw the most complicated set of instructions he’d ever seen

Ingredients

1: one chezal bean

2: two unicorn hairs

3: the wings of a buzzard

4: dragons bile

5: the flare of a wiches raindrop

6: blood of a wild animal

If the blood cannot be assessed the intoxicated must have blood from someone they love

"If you call that light I’d the to see what we’ve got in store for seventh years" harry said aloud.

Ten minutes later the cauldron was bubbling and harry saw the distant bridge coming into view again. It was long and wide, enough for at least one person to walk along side the carriage. It was old and crumbling and Harry wondered what would happen if it broke

"Oi Lucky, i’m going to go get something to eat" Ron grunted

"All you can think about is your stomach!" Hermione moaned. Ron turned and scooted out, leaving the contents to go bubbling with colour

"Why does it change colour?"

"It takes on what best make the intoxicated delight, say Hermione. She likes... Mint toothpaste?"Lucy was confused as Hermione blushed. Harry smiled as the train skidded along. It was way to icy for the train to be going and the snow was becoming a blizzard. At last the potion was finished and Lucy contained it in the Buxton bottle. The walked to Shona’s carriage where an argument could be heard. Harry reached for the lock but the knob but stay locked

"Go away!"

"Snape!" Shona yanked the door open. They let Snape filter out into the corridor before getting hold of him. Snape looked very confused

"Is this the London to Gatwick?" he asked them

"No, now drink this" Lucy chucked the drink into his hand. Snape shrugged and drunk half the contents. He wiped his mouth as Ron appeared.

"Did it work?" Ron said, stuffing his face with liquorish wands. Snape stayed silent as they watched him

"Worked then" Ron concluded

"Woah lets double check," Shona said, stepping forward "what’s my name?"

"Your pretty" Snape said quietly

"He’s drunk on anti love potion!," Shona screamed "get him in he closet!" she said in a rush and pushed him back into the carriage. They half smiled as they hear Snape make an odd noise as he fell over

"Why isn’t it working?" Lucy said to herself. They pondered for a couple of minuites. The background noise of Shona keeping Snape under control

"The blood!" Harry shouted

"Right! I’ll get that bottle and ad some! But from who..."

"You! Now hurry up!" Shona bellowed at them, Snape clutching onto her. Lucy wasn’t so sure now. She tried to get the bottle of snape but he held it out of her reach

"My wine!" He said like a caveman

"SIT!" Shona said sternly, pointing her finger between his eyes. He sat immediately and Lucy yanked the bottle away

"You like her?" Lucy half said to him

"Oh yes. She so hot when she just bosses you around like that, its hard not to obey! I asked her to marry me but she said no..."

"That’s because i’m fourteen and I dont like you. Git!" she hit back. Snape made an annoying giggling noise which led Lucy to run out. She didn’t like this, she knew he was talking nonsense but she didn’t like it. She walked up to the teachers lounge and up to Jessica

"Where’s Severus?" she questioned hardly, eyes tearing into her

"Someone smuggled him a love potion and he’s gone loopy. We need blood from the person he loves"

"Surely he loves you?" Jessica said. Lucy was not sure of the tone of her voice, it seemed very cautious.

"I’m saying the same to you after your little ‘talk’" Lucy spat the words as she said this. Jessica eyed her meaningly. Lucy walked off and decided to cut her own thumb. She found the knife in the carriage an put a little slit in her thumb. She let the blood trickle into the bottle before putting the top on. She felt a dense feeling in her heart as she popped her head out. She could see the others shadows from Shona’s carriage. Ron spotted her

"Pass us the med!" he shouted. Lucy chucked it and left it to roll to Ron. He picked it up and strolled into the cabin. Lucy was about to join them when a cold hand shoved her head backwards. She screamed as she fell backwards, the cauldron toppling onto the floor. The caped figure whisked its hand over the door and Lucy heard the unmistakable sound of it locking. The man’s skin looked pale and chapped as he signalled to another, out of sight from the glass. It walked of and Lucy se to the door. She tried to turn it but the door stayed shut. She tried the lock but was horrified to see that ice had frozen it in place. Suddenly the train started to screech an Lucy was thrown forward. She smacked her head on the wood. Lucy screamed again as she hit the floor, the train grinding eerily and ghostly. The Hogwarts express juddered as the ice spoiled its path...

"Get out!" Screamed the hooded man to four children. He pulled Lucy out by her hair and threw her into the neighbouring carriage the boys attacked him at the same time but it was no use. They clung onto his arms as the scrapped them to the carriage where Hermione was. He rammed the door shut and froze the lock. The train was only bing carried by the ice now

'The train will stop soon. The driver has perished and soon we will win’

"OI! CAPEMAN!" Shona taunted him. She smacked him in the mouth. He turned and hit her even harder. She fell over and Snape stood up

"Hello" he said

"Goodbye!" Shona shouted, pushing the man. The couple of second’s Shona had where priceless. Instead of running she picked up the bottle and threw the contents at Snape. Some of the liquid wet down Snape throat and he came back

"Wakey wakey" Shona said to him

"Nighty night!" the caped man said, placing his hand round Shona’s throat. He pulled her against his chest as he slowly strangled her. Snape woke up to what was happening and raised his wand

"Expel..."

"Pointy hat!" the other man screamed and lunged at Snape. Snape could see the mans teeth and blinded at the sight of his canine turning into vampire teeth. Snape and the vampire battled on the floor as the train wobbled.

“Run!” he said to Shona as the man went for his throat. Shona quickly hit the cape in the mouth with her foot “ I said run!”. The man shoved her into the hallway, she collapsed on the floor.

"Yes McGuire! Listen to the gifted!" he slammed the door shut on the gasping Shona and turned back to Snape

"Who are you!" Snape puffed

"Call me Kingston!" he smiled, licking his fangs. He was about to dig them into Snape when the train came off the rail. Out of the five blocks two three and five fell to the left an grinded against the bricks. Some of the carriages windows sprinkled to pieces, spraying innocent children and injuring them. They yelled as their carriages lights dimmed and children’s screams could be heard.
