Chapter 14: Love is in the air...

When Lucy arrived at the Gryffindor common room she saw Fred sitting there with a big grin on his face.

"Hey Lucy!" He said

"Hi! What's the big grin on your face for?"

"No reason, no reason at all"

"Ok then...?"

Just then George came running down the stairs, when he saw Lucy he launched at her, George had her pinned against the wall 

"What do you think your doing spending time with my brother?!" George hissed

"I er..." Lucy started but Fred dragged George so Lucy could break free of his grip

"Go away George! This isn't Lucy's fault!" Fred shouted

"Well who's is it then?!"

"Mine..."

"What? Why!"

"Because I am in love with Lucy, and your just going to have to deal with it" Fred said putting an arm around Lucy's waist. She was just as confused as George

George looked from Lucy to Fred then left.

"Sorry about that Lucy, I think maybe George might be a bit jealous..."

"No, no it's not that, you said you loved me, is it true?"

"Of course, I don't lie!"

Lucy gave Fred a look

"Ok maybe I do, but not this time"

"I can't believe you stood up to your brother like that, i'm sort of scared it's very un-Fred like of you..."

"Like you said before"

"I know..."

Lucy smiled, but then warmth rushed over her.

"It's getting hot in here, I better take my coat off..." Lucy began to slip out of her coat, but Fred helped her

Lucy gave a nervous smile as Fred hung up her coat as well as his own. Lucy sat down and Fred sat down next to her. For a while they just sat in silence, both of them wanted to say something but they couldn't find their words. Lucy just sat there and stared into the fire, she felt very awkward at this moment in time, as well as insecure about herself, to top things off Fred was looking at her. And she was thinking thing's like 'he likes you talk to him!' and 'why is he staring at me?' and 'go on you know you love him just as much as he love's you.'

Fred was thinking the exact same things: 'go on talk to her!', 'I know you love her', 'does she love me too?' Fred was worried as well, he just couldn't bring himself to speak to her, but Fred finally plucked up the courage, beside's someone had to.

"Lucy?" Fred asked

"Yes?" Lucy turned to face Fred, he took her hand

"Do you like me too?"

Lucy looked around nervously making sure nobody was watching them, or listening to them

"Yes, I do"

"Good" Fred put an arm around her, and forced her to come closer to him. Lucy gave a weak smile, Fred obviously noticed this.

"Lucy, are you ashamed about being in love with me?"

"Well yeah, but no, it's just, my dad, he will go mental, and he will ground me, he will have a fit, and..." But before she could say anything else, Fred had stopped her. He had kissed her

When he stopped, Lucy had gone pale

"Why'd you do that?" She whispered

"To stop you from going into overdrive..."

"I need to go into overdrive more often"

Fred laughed at the joke, but not for very long because Harry, Ron, Hermione, Shona and George came bounding in, they looked at Fred and Lucy slightly shocked.

"Hey..." They murmured but Fred stood up a bit annoyed

"If you lot are going to act like this still, i'm going to tell Snape, and get you all in trouble..."

"Not as much trouble as you will be in when Snape finds out you've been with Lucy this long, he will probably be getting suspicious by now..." Hermione said, but then a tall figure walked in the common room.

"Getting?" He said, Lucy gulped and turned to Fred

"Professor Snape I..."

"I NOTHING WEASLEY! YOU ARE IN DEEP TROUBLE!" Snape barked, as he grabbed Lucy

"Dad! Stop it!" Lucy whined

"No! I will not! Weasley is going to be sent straight down to the headmasters office! In fact both of you! Move along now!"

Lucy and Fred groaned as they walked out of the common room with Snape following them all the way to Dumbledore's office. They entered and Snape dragged Fred by the ear and Lucy by the wrist into the office.

"Hello Severus! What seems to be the problem?" Dumbledore asked

"The problem?The problem is that Lucy and Fred are..." Snape began but Lucy butted in

"Spending time with each other? Oooh! That's a big crime, come on Fred we better get to azkaban!" Lucy said in a sarcastic tone

Fred laughed and gave Lucy a high five.

"Yeah come on Lucy lets go find a dementor!" Fred cheered and Lucy and Fred ran off

Snape cursed Fred under his breath then turned to Dumbledore

"Albus what am I going to do with Lucy?" Snape sighed

"I don't know, she is your responsibility to take care of, and remember you have to give her freedom even though you want to protect her at the same time"

Snape grunted and walked out of Dumbledore's office impatiently...
