Chapter 9: Hogsmede trip

Lucy was still a little confused how a spell could get rid of a terrible creature like a dementor. Lucy got changed into her nightwear, she silently fell asleep with thoughts buzzing around her head.

The next morning Lucy woke up feeling better and more alive than yesterday, today was a Friday so one day of school couldn't hurt. She got up got changed into her school clothes and headed downstairs. Snape was sitting in his arm chair, he was staring into somewhere distant, it was as if the life had been taken from him.

"Dad what's up?" Lucy asked him.

"Nothing..." Snape still stared at nothing in particular, his mouth barley moved when he spoke the words.

"Is it because of yesterday?"

"I suppose so..."

Lucy shook her head and knelt down next to the chair he was sitting in.

"Dad i'm fine, there's nothing to worry about, my cold has almost gone and sure I might have some stitches on my neck but there is nothing to worry about"

"Your right, i'm worrying about nothing...You better head down to the great hall for some breakfast"

"Ok then, see you later" Lucy waved goodbye to her dad and headed down to the great hall where she saw Fred at the entrance.

He turned around and gasped.

"Lucy! Are you ok?" Fred dashed to Lucy's side and put an arm around her waist

"Yes i'm fine thank you"

"But the stitches on your neck, what happened?"

"Dementor decided to grab hold of me, suffered a minor injury that's it"

"We better go see the others, they will probably want to know what has happened to you"

Fred and Lucy walked into the great hall, Lucy'd friends stood up to greet her, but before they could Malfoy stepped in.

"Well, well, well if it isn't Snape and Weasley, and I see Snape has some stitches, was it where I thrashed her in the fight?"

"I don't think so, you couldn't even hurt a bug, your such a wimp"

"Nice save..." Fred whispered in Lucy's ear

"Oh really? Want to bet?"

"I already have because I won the last fight"

"I gave you a broken nose!"

"I gave you a sprained wrist!"

"Shove off Malfoy and go head back to the dogs you call Crabbe and Goyle" Fred stepped in

"No not until Snape tells me why she got the stitches"

"Malfoy?" Shona tapped Draco on the shoulder "I believe you should prove that your not a wimp"

"How?"

"BY FIGHTING ME!" Shona dived at Malfoy 

Lucy gasped, Shona had told Lucy she had got into a fight at her muggle school, because she didn't agree with bully's...But then again Malfoy was a bully.

"MCGUIRE, MALFOY STOP THIS NONSENSE IMMEDIATLEY!" Snape yelled at the two kids who were having a fight, just then McGonagall rushed outside to see them fighting as well. 

Snape grabbed Malfoy by the tie and Shona by the hair.

"OW!" Shona screamed.

"You two are going to be in serious trouble if you don't tell me why you were fighting!" McGonagall said.

"Malfoy is a wimp and he won't admit it! And he is intimidating Lucy about her stitches!"

"Is this true Malfoy?" Snape growled

"I want to show McGuire that I am not a wimp but she started fighting with me for no apparent reason!"

By this point half the school was watching.

"Right! McGuire! Malfoy! You will be coming to my office! Lucy you as well come on!"

Lucy followed Snape, Malfoy and Shona to Snape's office. Lucy opened the door for Snape to drag both kids in, she shut the door and waited for Snape to start talking.

"Malfoy you are having one to many fights...WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!" Snape hit Malfoy on the cheek. "McGuire you cause to much trouble as it is!" Snape hit Shona on the cheek as well.

"Dad don't hit them! Malfoy was only asking! I might hate him and he might hate me, but there is no need to punish them..." Lucy said stepping in

"Even though Draco was asking I am still going to punish him and McGuire for their fighting! You will both have detentions with me! Now get out!"

Lucy stood aside so Draco and Shona could get out, then she let herself out. After that Lucy had breakfast with the others then she had lessons. Lucy had missed out on some of it but it was easy to catch up (times like these she was glad Snape was her father) after lessons Lucy headed up to Snape's quarters, she knew everybody would be going to Hogsmede today and she still hadn't been.

She let herself in to find Snape marking Homework at his desk.

"Dad?" Lucy said, Snape looked up from his work "can I go to Hogsmede today?"

Snape thought for a moment

"Well your not grounded anymore so I don't see why not"

"Thank you!" Lucy squealed and gave Snape a hug

"No problem, just get changed out of your uniform into your own clothes, make sure its warm because its cold out there"

"Ok"

Lucy ran up the stairs and got changed into her denim skirt, knee high socks, a jumper, a pair of boots and a black cloak. And as well as that a scarf and some fingerless gloves. Lucy headed down to the entrance where she saw Hermione, Harry, Ron, Fred and George all waiting.

"Hey guys!" Lucy said

"Lucy! I thought you were grounded!" George said surprised

"Not any more! So when we get to Hogsmede where are we going first?"

"Probably Honeydukes, you haven't been there yet so we will take you there first, you'll enjoy it" Fred said.

"Right lets go!" She grabbed hold of Fred and George's upper arms and dragged them down to Hogsmede with Hermione,Harry and Ron following.

When they arrived at Honeydukes, Lucy gasped, she had never seen so many sweets in her life!

"So what you getting Lucy?" Hermione asked

"Everything! And i'm going to share it with you guys!"

Lucy grabbed six bags of sweets and paid for them, she handed one bag of sweets to each of her friends, but then remembered something, she had forgot about Shona! She dashed back in the shop and bought another bag of sweets and liquorice wand.

"Feeling hungry are we?" Harry asked Lucy

"No, i'm buying this for Shona, I feel sorry for her because she can't go to Hogsmede"

"That's thoughtful of you!" Ron said shoving another sweet in his mouth.

The group walked on for a while, but then saw Jessica Stone, Lucy glared at her and she glared back. They headed into the three broomsticks for a butterbeer. Harry paid for the drinks and they sat down around one of the old wooden tables.

"So what is it with your dad and Jessica Stone Lucy?" Ron asked

"I don't know, they seem to like each other..."

"It's strange though, me and George thought he had gone soft when he adopted you!" Fred said.

"I know....Speaking of the devil..." Lucy said looking at the door when Jessica, Ryan and Josh walked in.

Jessica walked to the counter and ordered drinks for her friends, she glared daggers at the group, or was it just Lucy...

"Lucy?" Ron waved a hand infront of Lucy's face she must of been staring at them for to long, Lucy gulped down her butterbeer then turned to her friends.

"I think it's time that I leave..." Lucy said getting up and walking out of the three broomsticks. Harry, Ron,Hermione, Fred and George all looked at each other confused.

Lucy ran back up to the castle where she found Shona shivering at the front steps.

"Hey Shona"

"Hi Lucy"

"I got you a bag of sweets if you want it..."

"Oh awesome!" Shona said almost snatching Lucy's hand off.

"Woah! Calm yourself!"

"Sorry" Shona said through a mouthful of sweets "why are you back so quick?"

"Well, I saw Jessica in the three broomsticks and had these funny feelings"

"What?"

"There is something I don't like about her and I can't lay my finger on what it is..."

"Oh well, they say teacher's are aliens so I have answered your question...And I will hold for the applause!"

"Seriously!"

"Yeah Seriously!"

Just then the others were heading towards Lucy and Shona. They all headed up to the common room but there was a problem...There was a bunch of people making a queue outside the portrait door.

"What's going on why is there a queue?" Shona asked

"Neville probably forgot the password again" Ron sniggered

"Hey!" Neville said from behind

"The fat lady's gone!" Someone shouted from in front

Just then Dumbledore walked up the stairs to the portrait hole

"We must search every portrait in the castle until we find her!" Dumbledore declared

But the fat lady was found very quickly and she was stuck in another painting, so all the Gryffindor students (apart from Lucy) had to sleep in the great hall. A lot of people were worried because apparently Sirius Black had entered the castle...
