"babe, babe, watch this,"

it was always the phrase that  got jack avery into trouble. and, it was the phrase that landed him into  the emergency room with a broken wrist.

"i told you not to do  it," y/n chided to her boyfriend as they sat in the hospital room. his  left arm was in a bright green cast that had been put on a mere ten  minutes earlier.

"listen babe, i totally had it. if that dog hadn't barked and distracted me-" he tried to reason with her, but she cut him off.

"you're  blaming the dog? babe," she laughed. "if you would've listened to me,  maybe we wouldn't be in this situation right now," she gestured to the  sterile white walls of the hospital room, which to be quite honest,  creeped the hell out of her.

"i totally had it," he mumbled  quietly, leaning his body back into the uncomfortable hospital bed. they  sat in silence for a minute or two before the door swung open and the  rest of the band waltzed into the room.

"nice going jack," corbyn  ruffled jack's curls, sitting in the hospital chair next to y/n. "hey  y/n," he greeted y/n, who smiled right back.

"hey corbs," she  looked to the other boys, who were examining all of the weird medical  equipment and wires around the room. "hey dani, hey jonah, hey zach,"

"hi y/n!" they exclaimed in unison.

corbyn eyed the bright green cast on jack's arm. "bro, management is gonna kill you. how'd you even do that anyways?"

"hey,  hey babe, watch this," jack called out to y/n, who was sitting on a  bench looking at her phone. they were at the park, just relaxing when  jack decided he wanted to show off his daredevil skills to his lovely  girlfriend.

"what is it babe?" she asked, setting her phone down in her lap.

"i'm  gonna jump this rock," he announced, a smirk settling itself on his  face. it was a huge rock, at least four and a half feet tall and three  feet wide.

"babe, that doesn't sound like a good idea," she advised, but jack wasn't ready to back down.

"don't worry baby, i got this," he got into a running stance, about to get a running start to jump the rock.

"jack robert avery i swear-" y/n started, but was interrupted by jack taking off and leaping.

just when it seemed like jack was actually about to clear the rock, the tip of his shoe caught a ridge in the mass.

he  tumbled midair, reaching his arm out to break his fall. y/n gasped  loudly as his body hit the ground, a sickening crack sounding through the air. she  immediately rushed over to her boyfriend, who was cradling his wrist  in pain.

"i told you not to do it,"

"you're such an idiot dude," zach snorted. jonah elbowed him, making zach wince. "i mean, i'm sorry bro,"

"it's fine, i deserve to be called an idiot," jack laughed.

"yeah you do," y/n mumbled, causing the boys to laugh.

"hey you love me anyways," jack cooed at y/n, causing her to jokingly sigh.

"yeah,  sadly i'm in love with an idiot in a bright green cast," she said,  letting out another loud, joking sigh. he playfully rolled his eyes,  leaning over and pressing a kiss to her cheek.

"kiss it  better?" he pouted, causing her to laugh. she pressed a kiss to the  rough material of the cast, causing jack to grin cheekily.

"have you been cured?" y/n laughed as jack nodded enthusiastically.

  "actually, i think my lips were hurt when i fell. kiss them better?" he  gave y/n his best puppy-dog eyes. she rolled her eyes but complied,  crashing her lips onto his. he deepened the kiss, clearly forgetting the  fact that the rest of his band was in the room with them.

she  pulled away from him, absolutely breathless from their exchange. "i  think i've been cured now," jack breathed out, leaning up to reattach  their lips.

"ahem," daniel jolted the two out from their moment,  causing them to stop midair.  "as cute as that was, that was frickin disgusting," the rest of the boys  nodded in agreement, causing jack and y/n to blush and laugh.

"oh please, you guys are just jealous," jack teased, being met with incredulous looks.

"am not!"
